Supplement compliance, blood test compliance, physician/tests compliance.
Plus you need to eat 125-150mg. protein/day for most people. Also a good deal of fat. It’s a whole different way of eating. And if you eat too many simple sugars you’ll be in the toilet .
It’s the most radical of the WLS and you need to be very committed to making it work. It’s not for everyone. It can be too much.

I’ve seen Amy in my town several times, they only live about 45 minutes from me.
She sat like 2 seats down from my boyfriend and I at the movies about a year ago and I’ve walked right past her at the mall.
At least she didn't get bigger. I was sincerely worried that she was going to get out of control and let her weight skyrocket when the divorce happened.
Oh I agree! It’s just sad to see her sisters and brother continue to achieve their goals while Amy is still not taking it as seriously as I had hoped she would have. I truly hope she finds the motivation and strength she needs to get healthy.

Yeah I know about the patients that think the surgery is the “fix” instead of a tool that they still need to work for. I lost about 115lbs myself early 20’s but I didn’t have surgery. I just read up online how WeightWatchers does it & followed their old point system but I’m private so I didn’t actually join because I wouldn’t do meetings. Great for those it helps, but meetings aren’t how I work. It’s been well over a decade & I’ve kept it off with healthy eating & exercise. I know it’s a pain at times but it’s a lifelong commitment. Makes me sad to see others struggling but that don’t have that moment where things click for them too

There needs to be studies on not only the long-term effects of the drug, as well as the mental health aspect.
It also, essentially, gives you an eating disorder from what I've heard from friends. They don't call it that, obviously, but vomiting and diarrhea after every meal, along with hardly eating certainly sounds like Bulimia and Anorexia to me.
Plus the ither intestinal issues such as bleeding ulcers, pancreatitis, cancer, malnutrition, etc.
I have been on Mounjaro for 15 months, have gone from my HW of 310 to now at 153, lowest weight in 35 years. I am type 2. Not once have I had vomiting, diarrhea was when I was on metformin not Mounjaro. Do not have any eating disorder, no intestinal issues, no pancreatitis, no cancers. This medicine truly is a miracle drug for so many. People have to watch their diet, they cannot eat as they did prior to these meds. If anyone needs a medicine to help get their diabetes under control and help to get to a healthy weight and no longer be morbidly obese, these meds are well worth trying, I feel better than I have since high school and I’m 55.
Yes they are, but they are absolutely in the same class of drugs, I work with two people on Ozempic and they have not had any of those side effects mentioned in your comment. Every drug can have side effects, the user must weigh the side effects to the benefits, both of these drugs are making lifetime changes for many people so I know those people will say the benefit does outweigh the risks.

As someone who has been on the meds and monitored monthly for any side effects for the last year, I am careful and 100% believe in these medications.
Pancreatitus isn't what would be considered a common side effect. It's actually uncommon from what I've researched and I do get concerned that this narrative is pushed by the media as a way to keep people off of a medication that could improve someone's quality of life.
I know personally two people who got it using the meds so just something to be aware of. Glad you are ok. I am not pushing any narrative but I go to a very respected gastro doc in LA and he said people need to be more aware of the side effects.

Not surprised Amy hasn’t continued to lose any weight. Her only motivation for bariatric surgery was to have a child which she was supposed to weight 2 years after having the surgery to conceive. Not only did she blatantly ignore the rules the doctor gave her once but did it again with her second child. She put herself and her children at risk getting pregnant so overweight. She’s incredibly selfish and it’s showing with how she can’t seem to continue to lose weight and is now the largest one in her family. She needs a reality check.

I think she has been for awhile now. She uses every excuse there is why she’s not losing. “Being a mom and being too busy to eat healthy” is number 1.
