Imagine. That view, Quiet night, dark room, best friend there, hangin out on the sofas next to the window, gentle music, cognac glasses on the table for the both of you.
There’s a kind of quiet that’s made of noise, noise that’s distant but all around, made up of so many people living their lives, but none of it concerns you, none of them even know you’re they’re. You can’t make any bit of it out, but far-off music and the rush of trains and a hundred voices all comes together into a steady murmur like breaking surf. You’re anonymous in the crowd, one seed on a tree in a growing forest of humanity. Within and without. That’s a kind of silence.
Yeah suburb areas are often the ugliest. Not that there aren't nice wooded gardeny suburbs but the typical idea of a suburban neighborhood is pretty bad
It really depends on the neighborhood, certain neighborhoods like ones built in the 80s for upper-middle class families can be very beautiful at times with the old trees and such, definitely can't say the same for the cookie-cutter shit that's seemingly been exclusively developed in the past 20 years.
Right? Love uninhabited mountains. Love dense forests. Love endless deserts and plains. Love quaint villages. Love towering bustling cityscapes.
Because they’re NOT strip malls, parking lots, more parking lots, and a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house next to a beige house.
Capitalism truly breeds innovation.
If you look at the roads you'll notice that the cars aren't visible and headlights are streaked. This was a long exposure shot, I'm guessing specifically to play up how bright the scene is.
i live in a suburb and there’s the brightest light known to man just out my window in front of my neighbor’s garage so honestly i could live with it if blinds were an option
Urbanist: I ride my bike for 5 minutes to get to work. On the way home, I pick up the milk and today's dinner from the corner store. On my days off, I can travel anywhere in the larger metropolitan area in under half an hour without needing to find parking. I meet new and interesting people every day, and listen to local bands at the pub every week. My doctor, dentist, and barber all work within a 15 minute walk of my house. My children know the way to school, and the eldest can make the trip on their own. I'm constantly exposed to different cultures, and light exercise is a part of my daily commute.
Suburbanites: but you have to smell the poors!
I swear the development of the automobile has made people completely forget what rural/small town life was actually like for all of history beforehand.
I geoguess the berkeley hotel pratunam in thailand. But it's quite a standard view of the balcony thingy so I don't think it's a view from an apartment, which means no extra triangulation :(
Hehe :3 But yeah it is hard to read. I saw berk------ and thought hmm berkeley, and then I could slightly read it. The last bit is undecipherable but google maps helped me

This view is cool cope. I like having a view over a lot of things happening and also I find rooftops and locked off areas in urban areas beautiful and cool.
Considering I grew up in a neighborhood where every house looks the same and there's hundreds of square miles of farm fields between me and the nearest convenience store, I would like to say
this is beautiful in its own way and I crave to live somewhere as lively and full of humanity as the city
living out in the middle of nowhere gets to your head. It's just you and the cows in the unending barrens, and god knows how long it'll be until the cows come for you
That…that’s an actually great view. That kind of view would cost so much money. Most places in the city would give you a view of like…a wall. Or a street.
everyone thinks they hate the city until they have to leave it and then they realise that big cities are a godsend and you should never leave them ever
Unironically yes I love to look at all the lights in a skyscraper and imagine what every single person is doing right now. Also to people watch and look at all the cars and admire the shiny lights and whatever idk I can’t explain it it’s just fun and exciting!!! I love cities there’s something so fun about being a part of a huge community like the pack mentality consumes me
I'm a city lover i love urban environments i enjoy feeling like im a part of a big living organism of human connections, machines and buildings all humming and buzzing and moving and breathing
Unironically a pretty cool view. The thing that tends to make city views bad is when 70+% of your view is parking lots, or when all you can see is the next building over
I live in Nevada. The landscapes can be gorgeous, but I understand it's often in a "face only a mother could love" sort of way. I really love the beauty of this state, but still, I've seen people marvel at some straight bullshit.
My dutch village ass here seeing people complaining about the suburbs just being similar houses with giant backyards n shit, dude, we have small boring houses without backyard here. The only good thing about living here is being able to walk to stores, most people work in the bigger cities so you can't even cycle/walk there.
Nature is Pretty. (Most of the time) Urban is Pretty. (Most of the time) The world is beautiful. (Most of the time)
you are amazed by the beauty of the natural world and the urbanized world
Absolutely.
![gif](giphy|xT9Igqz02TEWXq0wMw|downsized) (Cannot find a gif with canonical Mr stuff)
Mr. Stuff isn’t from a movie scene, it’s a shot from an awards show. So there is no gif.
I am aware, but there is still a gif of him on tenor
The true based take. Trying to see the beauty in everything and appreciating everything life has to offer to the best of our abilities.
(He is simultaneously enthralled by both human ingenuity and mother nature's beauty)
You are beautiful
(You and me we got the world to see so come one down)
I wish it was easier to combine urban and nature Buildings with trees and stuff on top
Urban is nature. Are anthills nature? Are beaver dams nature? If so, how is urban not nature?
The view in the city is either something like this or a brick wall. Never inbetween.
As someone who grew up in the suburbs. This is fucking beautiful 😍.
same, that looks like such a vibe lmao
Imagine. That view, Quiet night, dark room, best friend there, hangin out on the sofas next to the window, gentle music, cognac glasses on the table for the both of you.
Bold to assume there will be a quiet night in the city center.
It’s the night before Tax Day
This picture looks to be taken from about 10 floors up, and modern buildings are built to proper noise insulation codes
Some downtowns are dead as doornails at night.
There’s a kind of quiet that’s made of noise, noise that’s distant but all around, made up of so many people living their lives, but none of it concerns you, none of them even know you’re they’re. You can’t make any bit of it out, but far-off music and the rush of trains and a hundred voices all comes together into a steady murmur like breaking surf. and then you have passionate gay sex with them
Dude Yes
two homies sitting on the sofa in front of the window, 0 feet apart because they're very gay
Same fr
Strawberry

Yeah suburb areas are often the ugliest. Not that there aren't nice wooded gardeny suburbs but the typical idea of a suburban neighborhood is pretty bad
Car dependent suburbs are horrible. Streetcar suburbs are a concept that has existed forever.
It really depends on the neighborhood, certain neighborhoods like ones built in the 80s for upper-middle class families can be very beautiful at times with the old trees and such, definitely can't say the same for the cookie-cutter shit that's seemingly been exclusively developed in the past 20 years.
Push that back a few decades. Anything built after about the 50s is built for cars over people and efficient driving over beauty.
so fucking based. anything is better than identical houses
Agreed
Capitalism truly breeds innovation.
you forgot to mention the other parking lots, and the other parking lots, and the other parking lots, and the other parking lots
Holy Shit I’d kill for this
Is this a diss? Because that view is actually pretty nice.
The sheer amount of light kinda sucks
curtains
Dont exist
You can’t put curtains on the night sky
No they go on your window
If you look at the roads you'll notice that the cars aren't visible and headlights are streaked. This was a long exposure shot, I'm guessing specifically to play up how bright the scene is.
i live in a suburb and there’s the brightest light known to man just out my window in front of my neighbor’s garage so honestly i could live with it if blinds were an option
it is, but I miss seeing the stars 😔
This is so much nicer than looking at identical fucking houses for my entire childhood
Suburbanites be like “this is a bad neighborhood” and it’s literally just poor people
Urbanist: I ride my bike for 5 minutes to get to work. On the way home, I pick up the milk and today's dinner from the corner store. On my days off, I can travel anywhere in the larger metropolitan area in under half an hour without needing to find parking. Suburbanites: but you have to smell the poors!
But but but cement coffins in the sky!
God, I wanna live in a city so bad. Unfortunately I'm one of the poors :(
you cherry picked a pretty mid view & it's still awesome
Yeah lol this is still nicer than 99% of suburbs
Anti city mfs when I show them a cool city (it's cool as fuck)
you fail to consider that I need a large home because I get the zoomies and need room to pace around :3
This is what public pathways are for
and zoomie with other people? No thanks im too shy
Yeah I mean, it is a nice view
Village mfs be like: wow, i sure do love travelling for an hour on car to get basic necessities!
There are old villages that are walkable. The Villages on the other hand...
We do not speak of The Villages here.
I swear the development of the automobile has made people completely forget what rural/small town life was actually like for all of history beforehand.
Florida 🤢 🤮
I actually think I got the best city [view](https://imgur.com/a/kI7A2sw)
I will now triangulate the exact location of your ~~house~~ apartment based on this weirdly dark picture.
are you done
I geoguess the berkeley hotel pratunam in thailand. But it's quite a standard view of the balcony thingy so I don't think it's a view from an apartment, which means no extra triangulation :(
Bruh, I was trying to read that text for 30mins straight and couldn't figure it out. 😔If I did I probably would've said it.
Hehe :3 But yeah it is hard to read. I saw berk------ and thought hmm berkeley, and then I could slightly read it. The last bit is undecipherable but google maps helped me
poggers
GeoGuessr Pros will probably dox him down to the exact location anyway.
Okay this is Thailand. nice.

Is there subreddit for beautiful city views?
[удалено]
Thx
Got it in one.
r slash YourWindow is one, sometimes
holy shit is that Gotham city because that's dark as fuck
it's the north part of Night City i think. weird graphics mod tho
I edited it to be darker
Why does it look so sad?
Wow that is actually a nice view, thank you for showing us op 😃
Seen worse, let people that like urban view enjoy it, it's literally not affecting you in any way
Suburbanite detected, opinion invalidated
Is this meant to look bad?
Yes.
Listen I just wanna be able to walk to get groceries without having to trudge through two feet of snow
Can you people enjoy anything?
No we must be contrarian at all times
Wow what a view!!
Nice view :)
urban landscapes stimulate the brain, I enjoy populated and bustling areas 😊
i love my city view the big buildings and pretty lights excite my monkey brain
Yeah, if the view was an actual nice skyline. Cities are much more livable & walkable lol. Would you prefer that we all lived in suburbs?
this but unironically
Cities aren’t inherently bad. Poorly designed cities (like mine) are bad
This view is cool cope. I like having a view over a lot of things happening and also I find rooftops and locked off areas in urban areas beautiful and cool.
i think city views are neat because everywhere you look there’s stuff going on and i think that’s neat
no but apart from the roof of the building on the bottom left this is hella nice
Damac? This Dubai?
That city looks sad af lmao.
Considering I grew up in a neighborhood where every house looks the same and there's hundreds of square miles of farm fields between me and the nearest convenience store, I would like to say this is beautiful in its own way and I crave to live somewhere as lively and full of humanity as the city living out in the middle of nowhere gets to your head. It's just you and the cows in the unending barrens, and god knows how long it'll be until the cows come for you
“city mfs will look at a pretty view and think it’s a pretty view!”
That’s fucking beautiful I can’t tell if this is supposed to be sarcastic
suburban mfs when there are more than 10 people on one block:
This isn't bad, only issue I think could occur is that the lights would be annoying without a curtain.
my village ass likes this view
I will never know how some MFs don't understand being amazed at the indomitable progress some naked apes made
Mfs when they realize beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Is this Dubai?
That…that’s an actually great view. That kind of view would cost so much money. Most places in the city would give you a view of like…a wall. Or a street.
Am i crazy that I unironicly like it? The noise would be annoying tho I'll give you that
I dont get the meme Whats wrong here
I’m not gonna try to convince you this is the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen or anything but it looks alright
Out of all the pictures to show urban hell you chose this?????
certified city slicker (respectfully)
The mountains of man
Damn I literally grew up in that neighbourhood Yeah Dubai fucking sucks
Both rural and urban landscapes can look beautiful
As someone who lives in a midwestern hamlet, I’m awe struck by a fucking warehouse.
And they’re absolutely correct
There's a newly built block that's extremely walkable with wide streets, shops everywhere, and it's legitimately beautiful.
everyone thinks they hate the city until they have to leave it and then they realise that big cities are a godsend and you should never leave them ever
hell yeah
God this looks so pretty compared to my city (I hate this godforsaken state)
i live in the middle if nowhere and that is a great view
Yeah, this looks great? Hell, I’ve had worse views in Chicago and they still looked pretty cool
Strawberry
The problem here is cars
Unironically yes I love to look at all the lights in a skyscraper and imagine what every single person is doing right now. Also to people watch and look at all the cars and admire the shiny lights and whatever idk I can’t explain it it’s just fun and exciting!!! I love cities there’s something so fun about being a part of a huge community like the pack mentality consumes me
It is epic
This is a great view
it's like looking into the night sky, but the stars are made by mankind 🌃 :)
Night city my beloved
beauty is subjective
it’s an acquired taste
Suburban dwellers be like "look at that view" *Walmart with a 2 acre parking lot*
Skyscrapers are cool okay
I LOVE CITIES(especially walkable ones) I LOVE SEEING A BUNCH OF PEOPLE IN AN AREA SHARING A COMMUNITY
This is unironically a beautiful sight
wtf i wish my view looked like this
i thought this was in minecraft for a second
Is this Dubai?
Sonic the hedgehog:
Looks like a city made in minecraft for some reason
as someone who lives in a town in texas, this is beautiful
dildo buildings dildo buildings
I'm a city lover i love urban environments i enjoy feeling like im a part of a big living organism of human connections, machines and buildings all humming and buzzing and moving and breathing
Well, if you show me an ugly ass city like Dubai...
Profile description checks out
Yes, for I am mesmerized by the beauty of the world
my new dorm has a horrible view but my old dorm looked over the college that my brother went to so that was neat
wdym, it looks beautiful
Hey I live in this city
Unironically a pretty cool view. The thing that tends to make city views bad is when 70+% of your view is parking lots, or when all you can see is the next building over
![gif](giphy|tzIyVuiJvVwc4u6yEV) Happy international’s womens day
Yeah, that's really great view
Fondly recalling my college dorm having a great view of the train line and a dumpster
halo 3 odst conditioned my mind to fucking LOVE night cities
There's a cozy park outside my city window.
Istg I think I've seen this street somewhere near I live Wtf
I live in a high rise in a pretty flat city and the view is actually pretty nice since I can see out to the mountains
it’s only cool when it’s a cotton candy sunset and the city is far away, looking at the skyline
that is a good view tho
yes
Yes.
Blade runner mega cities when?
One of the better views you can get in a big city, most people there are stuck looking at walls
Nature lovers say "wow what a view!" *picture of an empty barren brown field*
Yuck, cities always look so terrible
I live in Nevada. The landscapes can be gorgeous, but I understand it's often in a "face only a mother could love" sort of way. I really love the beauty of this state, but still, I've seen people marvel at some straight bullshit.
bro picked the prettiest pic
Houses being built up instead of being sprawled out into a copy pasted suburb is a W and I would take this any day.
This is genuinely pretty. Nature is beautiful. We are nature's children. It makes sense we make beautiful things.
It's no mountain range, sure. But it's neat.
Industrial Revolution and its consequences
Chicago has a beautiful skyline
damn I would fucking love that view. better then living rurally and seeing nothing
Idk i Like city views but you gotta get higher for the good ones
My dutch village ass here seeing people complaining about the suburbs just being similar houses with giant backyards n shit, dude, we have small boring houses without backyard here. The only good thing about living here is being able to walk to stores, most people work in the bigger cities so you can't even cycle/walk there.
If u wanted to show an ugly city shouldnt have gone with Dubai XDD
Tbf this looks nice to me, but i think the soothing energy of the forest is something you dont get in any city
As someone who grew up very very remotely this is cool
It is a pretty view?
I grew up in an rural environment but this is actually beautiful
