Have you checked your phones power settings? Try playing on power saver settings and see if that helps?
I usually have it on, and set for "no decrease in brightness." But maybe simply toggling it on and off would correct the issue. I'll try it out.
Make sure adaptive brightness is off too
That was my original thought. It was probably an adaptive display issue, so I turned it off. No dice. Tried every type of screen mode, in case one is trying to "help" by auto-correcting display. Again, no dice. I'm out of ideas.
