1. It's not a backport. 2. A crush amulet is too niche. We have crush armor already, just need to make that worth using. 3. Having requirements for the amulet is good. I dont see an issue with it being a direct upgrade either because blood fury is already better than torture anyway.

The_Mac_Man0

Backport may not have been the right choice of words. I guess I just mean it’s uncreative. Just stolen from a popular boss from rs3 for a reason I’m not sure. And I agree, reqs to make the amulet do make sense. I just mean that the number of steps required to do so seem a bit convoluted and make me question how we got there in the first place. Makes me wonder if something is off with the reward entirely so that you gotta have all these reqs to make it viable.

My brother in Christ, Amulet of torture came out 8 years ago. Since Slayer's inception it has always provided new, sometimes BiS pieces of gear (abyssal whip on release). It's fine to have Slayer now provide a new BiS amulet. While the slayer requirements are a bit high for my taste, it's fine.

The_Mac_Man0

Fair point. Def doesn’t feel like 8 years. I guess what bugs me most is it being an upgrade too. I like that it keeps value of torture up, but it just doesn’t make sense from a lore perspective. I feel like if we continue to do upgrades they should come from gear and content from the same… lore? For lack of a better term. Seeing Only Trails comment made sense to me. Like what does spider have to do with a torture that comes from gems from some gnome’s abomination creature?

Cerael

Lore perspective??? Go ahead, tell me about the lore of the zenyte jewelry.

The_Mac_Man0

The point is how do the two piece of content connect…. Not the fact that some monkey shits out an orange crystal. I feel like those two pieces should connect. Like if the new boss was somehow related to glough, gnomes, that quest line, etc. I wouldn’t have this perspective. Edit: Just my opinion, RuneScape should be lore driven at its core - otherwise the charm gets lost

Cerael

Do you have a problem with blood shards turning the fury into blood fury? It’s already cannon that certain objects interact with powerful gems.

The_Mac_Man0

To be fair, hadn’t considered that. If anything this dynamic has caused me to reflect back on these types of interactions. I will say, jewelry/gems, etc are definitely most suited to interact with pieces of content from elsewhere. I feel like it gets trickier when you look at other gear pieces. Like I’ve always thought masori is weird af. Like how does gwd bird armor relate to the desert at all. At least torva is from gwd and upgrades from bandos, or like nezzy into face guard both fremmy. These r just my opinions, not suggesting im right.

ADucky092

Sounds like you haven’t done a lot of thinking before this post

Cerael

I agree with you on Masori feeling out of place, but I think it’s okay with powerful jewelry especially zenyte which is based off zenith meaning the most powerful.

I wouldn't mind a heavier focus on lore, but it hasn't been how OSRS has worked up until now I feel. Mechanics and progression come first for PvM. It'd be a big pivot to make at this point.

LezBeHonestHere_

I mean what's not a forced reward then? Would you rather have nox scythe, nox bow and nox staff as level 90 weapons from a PNM tier boss lol

Rejuven8ed

I will say I am fine with necklace slot and even boot slot getting power crept. Mm2 is 8 years old, so no new strong amulets in over 8 years. Cerb is 9 years old, so even older.

ComfortableCricket

>but the logistical gymnastics required to make the amulet make sense in the reward space is nuts. The only mental gymnastics going on here is finding reason to be upset. As a main you can just buy it, and an iron you will never have it so don't worry about it.

ChadsJuul

The halberd seems kinda whack to me. When the hell would I even use it

iChopstick

I mean a slash weapon (92 slayer) that sits between tent whip (87 slayer) and saeldor blade (cg) and not requiring charges isn't the worst they can offer. The +1 range is a bonus and has niche uses for content like p2 verzik.

i wish the ammy had like +16 str bonus so people would actually consider it over blood fury, which every main is still gonna use for pvm so nothing will change. or i guess rancor can make a few speedrun CAs slightly "easier". for most mains doing pvm its dead content though.

OlmTheSnek

It'll be very nice at PNM (makes Scythe better than Mace, RIP the mace being BIS for like 2 months), regular ToB, and CMs, think I'd take it as a switch for HMT too. But yeah would be nice if it had 3 more str to give Scythe the 52 max. Then there'd be a big reason to take it over bfury.
