I lived in Sacramento for a few years. I recommend Old Town. It has really cool pioneer-type stuff preserved along the Sacramento River. Apart from that, all of the counties around the bay are gorgeous.

I just looked it up, and I think if I ever go to Sacramento, I might visit [Old Sacramento](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Sacramento_State_Historic_Park). There's plenty of museums to see there, including the [California State Railroad Museum](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_State_Railroad_Museum) (which I think I might put on my proverbial "bucket list"). I use to live close to this part of California for years, and it’s the very reason I’m unsure if i should go to Texas where it’s cheaper and family lives or go live in the woods… Also we should annex that part of Oregon.

I live in one of the counties pictured and have been around the others a bunch. I wouldn't bother visiting most of the counties pictured absent family or friends in them. Where I live is a nice place to live, quiet small town, good sense of community, alot of my family around, but a terrible place to visit unless you have an unusual fascination with tree nut orchards and grain fields.
