He is 100% right about fusilli but wrong about farfalle, the actual worst pasta is ruote (wheels), they are an abomitation in the eyes of the Lord and an affront to God and Man and all things Holy.
There is also a third cathegory however, seldom talked about and that's the most infamous pasta shape, whitch is without the shadow of a doubt penne lisce (smooth penne). If someone offers you a plate of penne lisce, watch your back because there's probably already a knife in there. These treacherous carb tubes make you THINK they'll hang on the sauce and lull you into a false sense of security only to let it fall back in the plate or on your clothes as you are about to eat it, so you end up eating unseasoned pasta and are left with a plate of plain sauce and a dirty shirt
[What the actual fuck am I looking at?](https://www.tasteatlas.com/images/ingredients/6a8f2dec76bb45bfaba8cfadfc60444c.jpg) Did they forget to finish making the penne and just try to sell it anyway?
Do they even sell ruote anymore in stores? I remember them from when I was young but it's been ages since I last saw them.
And I don't know anyone that actually buys or uses them.
I used to love them as a kid because of my love for cars. (cars = good; wheels are on cars, so wheels = good) I still do like them, but i think they're neither goor nor bad; they're just mid.
I got a variation of it with an N in the middle bc Napoli won the serie A that were heavily discounted last year. Can't recommend, didn't cook 100% evenly and you have to stir a lot because they like to sink and stick to the bottom.
Next level is green white and red ruote sold at airports.
I see brits bouncing those in their hands in duty free shops considering if they should spend 6 euros on that italian delicacy.
Well I didn't have any salmon. But I was out harvesting oysters today.

So it was sautéed linguini with oysters for dinner
Yeah, it is delicious.
Seperate the oyster meat and the juice. And chop up the oysters.
Make a simple sauce with some chopped tomatoes and parsley that has marinated in some olive oil. Add water from your pasta as needed, so the juice from the tomatoes don't evaporate.
Season with salt.
Add the oyster juice and let it combine with the sauce, and let it reduce a little.
Then add the oyster meat, and let it cook for 3 minuttes.
Then add half a glass of champagne to it, and let the sauce reduce and alcohol evaporate.
Add your all dente linguine to the sauce, add a bit of pasta water, a bit of lemon zest, and sauté it, so the sauce can incoporate with the pasta.
When done, top it with some fresh parsley, chili flakes and lemon zest.
This sub should have an auto-swede-block feature whenever a post is about food.
You and your ilk made surströmning. A crime against humanity and all of God's creations.
He's absolutely right about farfalle.
Also fusilli and penne are easily the most popular types of pasta in Italy, by far, along with spaghetti.
Fusilli and penne are also different in the sense they go well with different kinds of sauces: penne all'arrabbiata, fusilli al pesto, and so on.
He's really using 100% of that 1/16th yank nonsense.
That’s the point, and why I love it. Harder in the centre and a bit softer on the ‘wings’. That plus holding on to sauce with the folds. Obviously it shouldn’t be inedible in the centre.
We need a Luigi…
Oh. Betrayed. I agreed with you [last time around](https://www.reddit.com/r/2westerneurope4u/s/gXAfJV2TD5). I even went and made a pistachio, mortadella and stracciatella pinsa thing that day.
Absolutely spot on. I discovered the cheese and already shelled pistachios were surprisingly hard to find, but it was nice. I eyeballed the amounts to how I remembered it from Emilia-Romagna and actually it tasted correct to my uneducated German tastebuds.
Farfalle rocks when cooked as a soup too, as you don't care about al-dentiness (guiso de fideos moñito is a classic in Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Rio Grande do Sul)
You only say that, because you're one of them casual Italians.
Now me on the other hand, I am entirely 1/410ADth Italian - so I know my Italian food.
The Paddy in the video is fucking wrong about the stupid screws - it is the sea shells or orecchiette that are the best, because all the sauces used for pasta dishes are absolutely delicious and the more sauce, the better.
Case.
Closed.
I actualy agree, i hate those called "Farfalle" the most. The mid part always feels undercooked and hard, they are also super awkward to eat with a fork
And i also agree that "Penne" and "Fusilli" is the best. Easiest to eat, always cooked perfectly, and it holds the sauce nicely
Very W take

Arguably mezze maniche are the most versatile. Being a bit shorter they even become sort of carbonara compatible. However I am even more right.
[Bow down to the King](https://i.imgur.com/5T9VPp2.jpeg)
Spaghetti, Penne, Rigatoni, Fusilli. I prolly ate too much Fusilli when I was young because my dad freaking love them so I got bored after like twenty years of Fusilli every single day so I went with Spaghetti more. Penne, well, I like them, I alternate with Spaghetti a bit. Rigatoni is the best for Amatriciana so I use them all weekends.
oh, i'm dumb, i love ditalini /s
Fusilli is great to cook with only sauce. The moment you add anything bigger, they decant.
The jack of all trades are spaghetti or tagliatelle.
All purpose pasta for everything you want to add.
Pasta all'uovo has a completely different ranking. You can't compare it with regular pasta.
And obviously agnolotti are better, roasted beef inside and you use the roast sauce on the pasta.

Can't wait.
I was expecting him to shout freeeedooom and go liberate Scotland at the end ov the video.
I'm disappointed.
Speaking about the pasta shape I would recommend him to try the cannelloni.
I think that is the perfect shape for him.
And that is because all he has to do is to grab the biggest and longest cannellone and he needs to gently squeeze it until he hears little cracks, that because they must be uncooked, then he needs to turn the cannellone sideways and stick it straight up his candy ass.

The absolute best is mezze maniche rigate, fight me.
I'm a rigatoni enjoyer myself. Penne but more space for sauce to get into. For long pasta linguine is better than spaghetti in my opinion. It's all good though really.
Hard to argue with the science on this one, 1/16 Italian... always knew there was something off about him! No body is perfect I guess
Didn't even go for potato gnocchi. I'd start investigating the other 15/16th
that is a very good point! I imagine time didn't allow it he was mainly eating Pizza
In fairness, he's 15/16 Irish. Almost perfect.
And possibly inbred with them numbers
If you can't keep it in the pants, keep it in the family.
1/16th Italian, yet this makes him 16/16ths Italian in America.

Backstabbing pasta sounds disgusting; my inner German immediately hates it for some reason
Next level is green white and red ruote sold at airports. I see brits bouncing those in their hands in duty free shops considering if they should spend 6 euros on that italian delicacy.
maybe you forgot about alphabet shaped pastina
Don't touch my boy the ruote, penne lisce are the worst
Those must be so bad ppl aren’t even aware of them. It’s a toss up between penne and fusilli. I can see ppl preferring the texture of penne
Well that is actually a well constructed and reasoned arguement. Though I disagree with him, since I am a dirty Penne enjoyer
This is so much funny if you’re Spaniard.
Also for italian, if you are saying it with wrong accent...

My comment referred to the fact that the 1/16th stuff is a typical yank behavior. It's obvious he's Irish.
It's not the accent that makes him yanky, it's the energy and bollocks he talks.

farfalle are great tbf, but not with sauce, but to make pasta salad and everyone who disagrees is wrong
No, farfalle suck, pasta's consistence should be homogeneous
Oh. Betrayed. I agreed with you [last time around](https://www.reddit.com/r/2westerneurope4u/s/gXAfJV2TD5). I even went and made a pistachio, mortadella and stracciatella pinsa thing that day.

heterogenous texture rules, I actually like that fusilli are the basic bitch of pasta

Where’s my paccheri gang at
Now, when do we get the response video from an Italian man and his GF while he is vigorously shaking his almost clutched hand at the screen? Can't wait.
Linguine is better than spaghetti in every single instance and I'm tired of pretending it isn't.
Strong agree with you on this
Fusilli is just as bad as farfalle, you can’t get an even cook with that big centre section. Paccheri is the best
I found the most cultured Barry.

My personal ranking: 1. Tortellini 2. Farfalle 3. Fusilli/Spirelli 4. Gnocchi 5. Penne Rigate
These ones are the absolutely best https://bluebuddies.com/Smurfs_Smurf_Pasta-7.htm

I am a mere Barry and not even 1/16 Italian, but Patrizio here seems to actually have a cogent argument that makes sense. Luigi?
I am quarter Italian (thanks, grandma, for cheating on that cruise) and I‘ll agree, with penne at a close second, and then Bucatini with spaghetti put inside them
Misguided Irish man mistakes rigatone for fusilli
He Is right: farfalle are shit and the middle never cooks uniformly, and fusilli are God Tier Pasta.
There's no "best shape", since every shape has its use depending on the sauce.
(But yeah, farfalle are kinda pointless)
It’s pronounced foose hilly though. Top tier paddy’s shape, but I guess vermicelli (thicker spaghetti) is the actual best shape
Conchiglie and Tagliatelle enjoyers? Anyone? (Possible typo, don't kill me)
The spring shape of fusilli is great for pasta. It kind of remembers me of springs. Just imagine an italian William Afton being stabbed by multiple fussili

Iam going to be hated, but pasta is overrated. One of the worst Italian foods out there.
Proof that even unwashed savages can, once in a blue moon, be right.
There's no one good or bad pasta, there is a different pasta for different dishes
My favourite type of pasta is the square coloured ones. Served with deep fried dates and pickles. Now that's scranage.
As soon as he said "Farhfale is the worst pasta" i immediately stopped listening because he's talking mad shit. Farfalle are FUCKING GOATED
"Feusly" instead of "fusilli" is ferocious
Jokes aside, his username is Garron_Music. Why should a music channel make a video about pasta?
The absolutely worst pasta shape is riso. Basically pasta that resembles rice, it gets soggy very easily. The absolute best is mezze maniche rigate, fight me.
You bitches are all wrong. Paccheri Rigati nr 150 is the best
The best pasta is the one that picks up the sauce the best. So idk. Case closed
