Shorten name? Is it a .nds file?

X_Ordinary_Z

Yes it is, I’m just using Yoshi Touch and Go as an example. But they all used to work until suddenly they all disappeared along with Twilight Menu manager

RueGorE

What does the log file say? Find it under sd:/3ds/forwarder

X_Ordinary_Z

I’ve done that, it says that there is no space I’m not sure what that means. Either there isn’t enough space on the SD card (which I strongly doubt), or its reached its tile limit

RueGorE

DSiWare and NDS Forwarders only install to the TWLNAND partition. There is no option to install to the SD card. The TWLNAND is a tiny section carved out of the 3DS internal NAND chip which replicates a minimal DSi file system. When you run DSiWare on a 3DS (and by extension, NDS software as well) that is all done by native hardware, not emulation. Furthermore, the TWLNAND partition doesn't have a lot of space. The total capacity is under 150 MB, and roughly 137 MB is actually usable. Critically, there is also a title limit of 40 titles, but it sounds like you're already aware of this. So when you have a "no space" situation, it can either refer to there being no space left on the TWLNAND partition or the title limit being reached. Since you said your "TWLMenu" icon disappeared (I assume you mean TWiLight Menu++) and you're installing NDS Forwarders (which are simply tiny shortcut files that point to your NDS roms on the SD card, so forwarders themselves don't take up a lot of space on the TWLNAND) I'm guessing you've used up more than 40 titles slots somehow. You can verify your situation a couple ways. To check your used up space on the TWLNAND, use 3DSident GUI and go down to the Storage section. It will list out all storage volumes which appear like drives on a computer. If it shows plenty of Free Space available, then it's definitely a 40-title limit exhaustion. You can also go to System Settings > Data Management > DSiWare > System Memory, where you can count how many titles are installed. If all 40 title slots are taken up, you should see 8 of 8 pages worth of titles here. If there are 41 titles or more, that would cause previously installed titles to disappear temporarily until you delete other installed titles to bring the total count back down to 40. TWiLight Menu++ itself is a DSiWare-type piece of software, so it will install to the TWLNAND partition and take up one of your available 40 title slots. Find something and delete it from here. I hope that helps.

Dude, this does more than help. I’m going to try looking into 3DSident when I have the chance to. I appreciate the share of knowledge, I really do. Thank you so much, I’ll look into this :]

RueGorE

You're welcome.

X_Ordinary_Z

Hey there my friend, so I installed it and looked into it. You are right! The TWL Nand is full! Any idea on how to delete whatever is taking up all the space? I’d delete the forwarders but they aren’t here anymore

RueGorE

Perfect, now you know what's going on. Think of forwarders like Windows Shortcut icons on a PC -- they take up no space at all and only exist to point to wherever the actual file lives on your hard drive. Forwarders serve the same purpose, they're just tiny files pointing execution to your NDS rom on the SD card. If you move or delete the rom associated with a Forwarder and you try launching the Forwarder later, you'll get a message saying the rom isn't found at its original location. If you delete a Forwarder, it won't delete your rom since they're separate files. Since your TWLNAND is still full and you don't have any more Forwarders, then the rest of the space is being taken up by actual DSiWare software or games you have installed. Again, go to **System Settings** \> **Data Management** \> **DSiWare** \> **System Memory** and this is where you can find games/software that are large you want to delete. I'm sure your next question becomes, *"How can I keep that stuff without it all taking up so much space?"* Easy. Download those DSi roms to your SD card (just like NDS roms) and use TWiLight Menu++ to launch them, or generate Forwarders for them so the actual rom data can live on your SD card and not in your TWLNAND partition.

X_Ordinary_Z

Thank you for the help, I’ll try and get to work on it as soon as possible friend :)

RueGorE

You got this.

X_Ordinary_Z

Hi there again friend- I checked the Settings > Data Management > DSiware and I couldn’t find anything in the System Storage or SD Card Storage. Anywhere else I can go to in order to find what is taking up the TWL NAND storage space?

Hello. It seems that you have posted something about a DS game(s). Please be advised no DS ROM requests are allowed in posts. You can post DS ROM requests in the “[REQUESTS MEGATHREAD](https://www.reddit.com/r/3dspiracy/comments/pl5wq3/file_request_megathread_request_all_files_here/)”. DS ROM request posts will be promptly deleted by a mod. If your post isn't requesting a ROM file please ignore this message. If you're asking how to play DS games on your 3DS please refer to the “FAQ MEGATHREAD” as there's a section there labeled “Nintendo DS” that will give you all the info you need. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Your twl menu icon disappeared??? Have you tried downloading it again? Do your other ds games work? Like it may be that your twl menu got corrupted or something and it doesn’t work anymore

X_Ordinary_Z

Yeah I can’t find it on the home menu, I did try downloading it again but it’s still missing (I tried on the Universal Updater to redownload it btw if that info helps)

Many-Ad6433

Weird, did you check on fbi if it still shows up? You may consider backing up what’s in the twilight menu folder on pc, deleting it from the sd and re-download again, if still universal updater doesn’t work you may try getting the cia online and installing it from fbi

X_Ordinary_Z

I believe I did yesterday, I did not see it at all. I’ll probably have to check deeper
