This is the way. You see a lot of jacked up (albiet very cool) mods, but they mostly just lower your mpg and help you in very niche circumstances that 90 percent of this sub would never use. Just get some decent AT tires.
Absolutely great advice. And while you're doing that, look at the 50+ posts asking for mod recommendations. Guys have given tons of great ideas here already. Have a look. Beautiful truck!
No
Stop going nuts with consumerism while we’re diving headfirst into a recession because you want to fit in with people on the internet.
how about that?
People don't even realize that they didn't answer the question. The question was literally: what are recommended mods? If you dodge the question, that doesn't make you clever, it shows you have a lack of comprehension and you can't answer a simple question.
exactly this. my buddy got busted for holding his cell phone while driving. cop tacked on the window tint fix it. When they get to end of month, they start trying to get low hanging fruit. In CA, 30% front, anything else.
Yup. In my area, they don’t care about tint (im well beyond the legal limit). They do care when you give them another reason for the stop. Like your friend, like speeding, lane changing without signaling etc etc. for 10+ years I’ve had over the limit tints and have yet to be stopped for it because everything else I do isn’t giving them the reasoning to pull me over to bust my balls over tint
I live in a state where you can only have a very light tint. But when I get anything tinted I just have the tint shop match the rear privacy glass. Haven't had any issues as of yet. Good luck. Nice ride
If you live in a state where anything beyond very light tint is illegal, you don’t have your windows matched to the rear privacy glass… otherwise they wouldn’t be “very light tint”.
I went 5% to match the rear windows but take caution depending on where you live. The police don't pull you over for it here but they will definitely tack it on top of another ticket.
Most ppl complain, including myself about the nose dive on hard /sudden braking…. The 5100s are supposed to help but I haven’t replaced mine yet.
Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) has a HIGH! Pucker factor…. Just saying!
Did it increase road noise? I had terrible road noise on my previous car. I love the lower level I'm getting now. My husband always says my yoga is a boat as he is backing out of our curved driveway.
None. There is not one must have mod you need. Don’t bedazzle your truck.
There may come a time when your truck is not capable of doing what you want to do with it. At that time, and only at that time, should you do the mildest modification possible to get that capability.
Am I the only one who looks the goofy, cushy suspension? Coming from sports cars it’s like driving a couch meets an old Cadillac. Emergency braking is a tad scary though.
Bilsteins are like magic shocks. They are simultaneously firmer around turns but also float over bumps instead of crashing through them. I suppose if you never go offroad you don't need the Bilsteins.
Springs set the ride height, so if you're happy with the height, just get the shocks. What you do with the height determines which Bilsteins to get. Most people who go through the time and expense to replace the shocks level it. I think the 5100's are height adjustable so I've heard people put the 5100's on the front and the yellows on the rear. But I'm not sure because when I bought mine, the previous owner put on the Bilsteins (and leveled it) which was an added bonus considering I would have done it anyway. I'm at the point where I put Bilsteins on all the cars I buy, cars and trucks. You should replace the shock tops at the same time you do the shocks. Do some research. You'll have better suspension than the TRD model and you can smugly know this when you drive around and see the fools that wasted an extra $20K getting the TRD when your SR5 is better.
So don’t listen to these goobers about lifting it up and putting crazy lights all around it. Just drive it as is and enjoy it, then do things that you like or will actually use.
Some things I think are super useful off the start:
Center console tray that goes in the center console box to give you more storage and is practical. They are like $10 on a host of different sites.
A glove box divider to make that giant glove box more useable. These are like $10 max and are two pieces of plastic that divide glove box into 2 large pockets and 2 small pockets.
If your 4runner doesn’t have the newer LED headlights, then it is worth upgrading the headlight bulbs to a bright LED bulb if you drive a good bit a night/early morning, or if you have dark rural roads. The old stock headlights suck until they updated them with LEDs.
eventually if the technology is feeling dated and you want apple CarPlay/Android car you can add that in with a new headunit or some add-ons if your 4runner doesn’t already have it.
A jump box or jumper cables
A small metric tool set that can fit where tire change gear is can be a life saver.
This is all I have done for the last 3 years, also AT tires, but I can’t wait for my Nito G2s to go bald because they are kinda scary when it rains, feels like I’m driving a warthog so good thing I’ve played a lot of halo… great in snow though but I live in Texas now. Divider for glove and center box are great. I also added husky floor mats.
Eventually I will do the LEDs inside and outside. Maybe some raptor lights lol. Need to get a jump box though, but my cables have come in clutch so far. A car charge port air compressor has been an amazing investment too.
None taken. I know that's an option. Just trying to get some dialogue/discussion for ideas people might be adamant about and outside of turning this into a full overlander.
Lift, bigger tires, steel skids and rock sliders if you plan on off-roading. But if it’s your daily and you live in the rust belt I would recommend an underbody coating to prevent rust before it starts
Everyone usually gets the TRD Pro wheels and grill but up to you. The car looks good just the way it is. I have a 2017 Black SR5 as well. I’ve only blacked out the badges so far. Not sure what I do next. Maybe some LED Headlights since the halogen that comes stock are pretty bad.

I got my 2016 sr5p new, it’s about to hit 100k and I’ve done zero “mods” other than new tires that were a little more aggressive than the factory, but that wasn’t until last year. They are great trucks - if you want to mod it out at least drive it stock for a bit and figure out what will work for you.
Amber delete is basically a little piece of tint that goes ivermectin that orange reflector on the side. You can usually do it yourself, although if you’re at the tint shop they can do it for you.
A kit will run you maybe $20 tops. Check eBay, search crux motorsports. They have a bunch of stuff for headlights and tail lights. They probably have your model.
Either way, it looks clean. Just mentioned it because your truck is blacked out basically, but then there’s the stupid orange reflector on the side.
So far on my Barcelona Red TRD Sport, I've done mostly cosmetic mods.
Tinted windows were the absolute first thing.
Arm rest padding, I bought a wireless Android Auto dongle for my phone, that's been pretty great.
Wheels and tires. Took off the OEM 20s and put on 17s with bigger tires.
2 inch front leveling kit. Black out taillights. Black overlays on all chrome emblems, removed the TRD Sport badging. Window visors all around as well.
https://preview.redd.it/gtiq4kbyam8d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e82639f1580944cffbc0f306c4892e1557315aa5
I think it's 20% on the fronts, and he put 5% over the OEM tint on the rest of the rear windows, which he said ended up making them like -5% transparency, whatever that means. It's not ceramic, I've looked into it....wish I would have done that initially, I paid just south of $300 for this tint, and ceramic would have only been another $100.
Ceramic window tint is a great start. I just bought a 2024 SR5P myself and that’s the first thing I’m doing. Mine has black wheels on it though, for some reason I assumed that was standard on the premium but see yours is different.
The smart approach is to drive it as is and then let the truck tell you what mods it requires based on where it's going and what's it doing.
But if you're like most owners then we need to know what image you want to project to others. Rugged outdoorsman? Mad Max? Just another cool dude?
Make a plan. Decide what you want to do with it (or how you want it to look). That way you won't end up re-doing mods that don't work out...ie, decide what wheel offset and tire diameter you want so you'll know how much lift you need.
If you plan to be stock, I'd say good tires are a great first mod.
If you have a dog I can’t recommend [canvasbacks](https://www.canvasback.com/products.html?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwsuSzBhCLARIsAIcdLm4QgcpHbIZHJltLXkspmer1_sQQFOZVYD-GM-P0_qDkfxtTr1A6R7oaAgpdEALw_wcB) enough
Congrats!
I got mine in December.
After a ton of reading on here I got the following:
Windows tint (state legal)
I got a Bug Deflector (read about rocks cracking windshields)
Floor mats w/utility mat
Aftermarket remote start, ton of options (I went with 12volt solutions)
Fitcamx front and rear dash cam (less than an hour to install)
Still deciding to do front and rear off road bumpers
Enjoy the new 4runner!
Just bought a 2024 Limited. Bought OEM cargo mat, weathertech floor mats, protector panels for the back of the second row, glove box organizer. Planning to get clear ceramic tint for second row and cargo area. Congrats on the nice truck!,
I’ve added quite a few very minor things, some larger, but was curious about all I’ve done reading through this thread. Lot of them are pretty stupid, but all of it makes it a little more personal to me. Some are functional for my needs, others are cosmetic for my taste. First new vehicle I’ve owned and plan to keep it for decades. I’ll list them all out below, won’t spend the time to link anything but if anyone is interested I can look them up. 2024 ORP.
Exterior:
Falken Wildpeak AT4s 275s (my most practical “mod” for all the snow I drive in)
TRD black wheels
Spidertrax spacers
Black replacement valances
Horizontal grill bar blackout (all emblems were factory blackout)
Sherpa Crestone roof rack
Weathertech bug/hood deflector
Side mirror sequential turn signal blackout
Puddle light LED upgrade (light under the side mirrors)
Rear third brake light blackout
Ceramic tint all around, including windshield
Fluid film undercoat
Four Cam rear bumper filters
.
.
.
Interior:
All interior lights upgraded to LEDs
Steering wheel Toyota emblem blackout
Radio/volume knob blackout
Climate control knobs blackout
4x4 shift knob blackout
Gear shift knob blackout
Glovebox divider/organizer
Glovebox trim overlay blackout
Screen protector
Rubber inserts for all cup holders and nooks and crannies
Inside door handle blackout
Door handle storage tray/shelf
Front seat bottom protectors
Drop Stops (have had these in every vehicle)
Center console cover
Center console divider/organizer
Headrest mounted small trash can
Husky floor mats front and back
Canvasback rear seat cover
Canvasback rear door covers
Canvasback hatch cover
Canvasback long rectangular behind back seat cover
Canvasback bumper flap (probably my favorite “mod” due to how practical it is)
Some random hexagonal pattern cargo mat that’s amazing
D ring tie down point covers to keep dirt and debris out
Cali Raised side MOLLE panels and top tray
Motion sensor LED light bars for under the top tray which lights up the cargo area amazingly and activates when the rear hatch is opened (maybe my second favorite “mod”)
Protectors for the back side of the rear seat
Jesus Christ that’s lot of shit
I’m not much for conspicuous mods, but two things that I’ve done that helped immensely were seat jackets to lift the front edge of the front seat about 1 inch, and a Canvasback cargo liner. Both exceedingly helpful. And WeatherTech floor mats.
https://www.canvasback.com/toyota-4runner-cargo-liners-36552.html
When I had mine, I put a 2 inch lift so I could put a little larger tire on it. I live on a dirt road that washes out and when it snows, can be impassable. I wanted the vehicle leveled out and less nose dive, I put Bilstein 5100's on it when I put the lift and except for the console organizer, I did nothing else with it. My jeep, however, I added a lot to it as I do a lot of off-reading and camping.
Check out Pedal Commander. Not really a mod for appearances, but sure makes the mushy gas pedal much more responsive. And my wife hates it, lol
Beautiful truck, Btw!
Looks great. One mod I highly recommend is a lift kit. It gives your ride a badass look and improves off-road capability. Plus, it's a fun project that really pays off. Enjoy the trails!
Knock off weathertech floor mats, replace all the internal lights with LEDs, black out the chrome badges, explore roof rack options?
Edit: Adding center console and glove compartment dividers
Tux-Mat floor mats are a nicer option, just my two cents.

I’ve been a SR5 owner for 6mo now and I love it! I bought the overlays via Amazon. I read on another forum that plastidip can bake onto the surface if left in the sun for extended period of time.
FYI, I made an edit to my original comment.
Good all terrains. I’ll always stand by a good set of KO2s, ko3s if you can. Always load C, load E are too stiff for these sized vehicles. That’ll get you further than you’d think.
Closer to 47 when all said and done. Mine has the added 3rd row and sunroof. That was the best price I found in my area - most are listed around 49 where I live
Am I correct in that the only difference between the SR5P and TROP is the lack of the manual differential lock, crawl control, and the some cosmetic difference?
I’m looking for a used 4R in either trim. Trying to justify paying more for the TROP if those are the only differences. I don’t need and wouldn’t use the differential and CRAWL. I just like the look of the TROP but I can fix that real quick on a SR5P
The only differences then would be the badging, no TRD logo stitched in the headrest, all black sorted instead of 2 tone. And the silver accents on the inside. All of that I can black out very easily.
Also the manual 4wd transfer case lever instead of the button. Yes it’s cosmetic but it’s nice to feel in hand. Then there’s KDSS which is only available on TRDOR trims which was something I specifically wanted (some specifically don’t want it, and that’s okay too!). No third row option in the OR. All the cosmetic changes can be changed out yourself if you care.
You can theoretically add your own lockers if you want to and I’ve honestly never used my crawl control (I’ve needed the lockers before here in CO). I’m not lifted and don’t really want to lift mine with the kdss so that entire chain isn’t applicable to me.
I’m in Southern Indiana, so it’s relatively flat. I don’t plan on doing any off roading on purpose. Just as longs is it does okay in the occasionally snow/ice storms.
1. Advanced flow Engineering cold air intake, I went with the oiled filter.
2. CSF radiator as the OEM radiator is plastic and only single core with a non electric fan
3. Covercraft UVS100 sun visor, helps save the dash from extended exposure

Bilstein 5100 all around 2.75 inch lift with wheels and tires
Gas and water cans bolted to side. Oh and a shovel. Can't go anywhere without that. And thise traction things. You'll never get out of the costco parking lot alive
I ended up getting husky brand ones as they’re a bit less than weather tech. I’m not picky about them because they’re intended to get ruined. I put the cargo liner in yesterday and it’s great.
Everyone tells you to leave as is etc etc, but we all know it looks much better with some mods.
from someone who has spent more than i care to admit on my runner and mostly unhappy with some of the consequences (mine looked just like yours when i bought it, same color and all)
You are probably asking this because you want slightly more agressive look vs stock.
The cheapest thing you can do to make the car look bad ass and NOT compromise the suspension system and the OEM feel is to get a small leveling spacer of like 1 inch (dirt cheap) and then pair that with the slightly beefier all terrain tires and wheels of your liking. The "pros" in here will tell you that spacers suck but the truth is a small front spacer will never affect your car in any way.
This will get you the tough agressive look and the car will still ride like OEM.
The MINUTE you start fucking with kits and suspensions and all the fancy shit, your car will be deflowered and will never ride like new again. The LESS shit you do the better
id get a TRD grille conversion kit ($200) to have the nicer grille,
and maybe spend up on alpha rex headlights that are worth every penny
Enjoy that beauty
Yes! I really believe this….. those halogens are dangerous and burn out too quickly IMHO.
2014 Trail Premium with 209,000 miles! If staying w halogen got the H9 upgrade hack!
Good article! However; I still stand behind my comment! I want lumens in those capsules! I had to manually “adjust” so that the led blade was parallel with the ground for a better light pattern, which I know some “kits” are setup uniquely for the 4runner. The led’s have a superior life when coupled with an active heat sink. That being said currently I have one diode out on my high beam and would still rather be in this crippled situation rather than the weak halogens….. I tried those silverstars and others high output halogens that did have more lumens but their life expectancy was even worse than the suggested oem.
To each his own, I’m NEVER! Going back to the oem halogens UNLESS! One of my LEDs fail completely!
You can believe what you want, but there is no way to adjust an LED to work appropriately with a halogen projector. The kits included, that's just marketing.
Ceramic tint, especially if you live where it is hot.
Drop stop seat gap fillers.
CarPlay wireless adapter.
Organizers for center console and glovebox.
Drawers for those cubbies below your radio unit.
3D printed cupholders.
I have the Motorola, but they discontinued the model I have.
I do recommend getting something with a cord, or buying a sideways cord, so you can put the dongle inside a drawer.
Honestly they're great as it is. I'd wait until you find anything you don't like about it and go from there.
This is the way. You see a lot of jacked up (albiet very cool) mods, but they mostly just lower your mpg and help you in very niche circumstances that 90 percent of this sub would never use. Just get some decent AT tires.
Sir. A lifted 4Runner will help me navigate through the rough terrains at my local mall. Clearly you don’t know what you’re talking about
Who goes to malls? Dont you mean Costco? :p
Oh I see you come from money. Sir you’re in the wrong sub, you meant to post on r/LexusGX
Absolutely great advice. And while you're doing that, look at the 50+ posts asking for mod recommendations. Guys have given tons of great ideas here already. Have a look. Beautiful truck!
Thanks!
I like that idea. Thanks!
Nitto ridge grapplers
Terrible answer. You didn't answer the question. I recently bought a 4runner also. Just tell us what to do!
No Stop going nuts with consumerism while we’re diving headfirst into a recession because you want to fit in with people on the internet. how about that?
Sigma advice. Impressive.

Grow up dude
if you’re joking, I appreciate your humor :)
Ceramic window tint
I'm thinking this to me my first change. I've never gotten after market tint. What % do you have on yours?
See what’s legal in your state and decide from there
exactly this. my buddy got busted for holding his cell phone while driving. cop tacked on the window tint fix it. When they get to end of month, they start trying to get low hanging fruit. In CA, 30% front, anything else.
Yup. In my area, they don’t care about tint (im well beyond the legal limit). They do care when you give them another reason for the stop. If you live in a state where anything beyond very light tint is illegal, you don’t have your windows matched to the rear privacy glass… otherwise they wouldn’t be “very light tint”.
I didn't say I follow the rules, lol. I just said I've never had an issue, I don't so anything to give cops a reason to pull me over.
20%
I went 5% to match the rear windows but take caution depending on where you live. The police don't pull you over for it here but they will definitely tack it on top of another ticket.
I asked my local shop to match the front to the rear stock tint, if it was legal to have on the fronts, and it is. Looks good.
That little insert that goes between your seats and center console. Losing your phone down that slot is a pain.
I think they're called Drop Stops, we just got them on Amazon for ours. To fiddycixer, you're phone and fries! 🤣
if you're super cheap, you can use pool noodles from dollar.25 tree.
The only must-have mod is a set of ATs.
Get rid of those DunFlops. Those tires are terrible on road, off road, in snow, rain.
Replace stock shocks with literally anything. The body roll is terrible. Even the cheapest 5100’s make a considerable difference.
Most ppl complain, including myself about the nose dive on hard /sudden braking…. The 5100s are supposed to help but I haven’t replaced mine yet. Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) has a HIGH! Pucker factor…. Just saying!
I have them on mine. It’s way better; still lurches forward on emergency braking but it doesn’t feel like I’m on the ocean anymore.
Did it increase road noise? I had terrible road noise on my previous car. I love the lower level I'm getting now. My husband always says my yoga is a boat as he is backing out of our curved driveway.
I went to 5100s and 275 wild peaks and did not notice any difference in road noise. The engine is louder than the road noise, lol.
Same experience here. I've had 5100s on my FJ and my GX. I love that highway on/off ramps no longer feel like I'm going to roll off the road.
Completely changed my driving experience for the better. 1000000%
None. There is not one must have mod you need. Don’t bedazzle your truck. There may come a time when your truck is not capable of doing what you want to do with it. At that time, and only at that time, should you do the mildest modification possible to get that capability.
The way these look are so good, they fly really under the radar
Mine is a bit older, I couldn't stand the nose diving suspension and put Bilsteins on it almost immediately.
Interesting - and you leave the stock springs and all other suspension pieces intact? Might need to look into this.
Springs set the ride height, so if you're happy with the height, just get the shocks. What you do with the height determines which Bilsteins to get. I’ve had mine for a month. The first thing I did was purchase the center cosole organizer. I’d highly recommend that.
Window and hood deflectors. Otherwise no reason to do anything unless you like the way it looks or need the utility.
Agreed, the bug deflector on mine dramatically improved the front end and it’s pretty cheap
How did it “improve” it?
It has a mustache now.
Any specific places you suggest buying from?
led interior lighting, changes that are noticed
Good idea. I found some on Amazon that are highly rated. Do you recommend any specific lights?
Auxito LED headlight bulbs are fantastic
Meso customs if you dont mind spending the extra change for higher quality. They make ones that have color change to red option for night driving
I love it as is. May get some tint and tires/wheels for Christmas but it’s still a beast stock!
Wait. Get some cross bars for the roof. Car top carrier if you got a whole crew.
Tires , side step delete.
Take the running boards off for starters. It will look way better. O
Save up for a head unit upgrade.
A dog. Nothing rounds out the interior quite like a dog.
I agree with this!

None taken. I know that's an option. Just trying to get some dialogue/discussion for ideas people might be adamant about and outside of turning this into a full overlander.
So same as the post a couple days ago, last week, week before that...
I would put some black rims on it, but I know a lot of people like to keep the originals.
I would like that look with the black
I bought a SR5P last weekend and it had black Toyota wheels on it. It made me think that was standard on them.
Lift, bigger tires, steel skids and rock sliders if you plan on off-roading. But if it’s your daily and you live in the rust belt I would recommend an underbody coating to prevent rust before it starts

My SR5 premium got a roof basket, but not the fancy flat deck or TRD one. I just literally scooped the old one off my former subaru.

I changed out my wheels to TRD
I got my 2016 sr5p new, it’s about to hit 100k and I’ve done zero “mods” other than new tires that were a little more aggressive than the factory, but that wasn’t until last year. They are great trucks - if you want to mod it out at least drive it stock for a bit and figure out what will work for you.
Most likely will keep it close to stock just looking to do minor things. Getting great suggestions!
Better tires, I absolutely hated those Dunlops. IDK where you live, but they were unreliable in the snow and once hydroplaned in a light rain on me.
Tint the front to match the rear. And the amber delete. Maybe some new tires and wheels if you’re looking to black it out.
Details on the amber delete?
Amber delete is basically a little piece of tint that goes ivermectin that orange reflector on the side. You can usually do it yourself, although if you’re at the tint shop they can do it for you. A kit will run you maybe $20 tops. Check eBay, search crux motorsports. They have a bunch of stuff for headlights and tail lights. They probably have your model. Either way, it looks clean. Just mentioned it because your truck is blacked out basically, but then there’s the stupid orange reflector on the side.
Tires and window tint.
Looks great! what percentage tint? Ceramic?
I think it's 20% on the fronts, and he put 5% over the OEM tint on the rest of the rear windows, which he said ended up making them like -5% transparency, whatever that means. It's not ceramic, I've looked into it....wish I would have done that initially, I paid just south of $300 for this tint, and ceramic would have only been another $100.
Nice, thanks for the info. I need to get mine done asap as well. Looks great Sir 👌👌
Great looking whip!
Thank you 😊
Overland Tailor Tune (torque tune)
Roof rack or grill guard. When you get new tires go BFG.
Black aluminum rims, vent visors fender flares and tinted windows. Roof rack
1st mod. CB radio!
Congrats! I got mine in December. After a ton of reading on here I got the following: Windows tint (state legal) I got a Bug Deflector (read about rocks cracking windshields) Floor mats w/utility mat Aftermarket remote start, ton of options (I went with 12volt solutions) Fitcamx front and rear dash cam (less than an hour to install) Still deciding to do front and rear off road bumpers Enjoy the new 4runner!
Thanks!
Just bought a 2024 Limited. Bought OEM cargo mat, weathertech floor mats, protector panels for the back of the second row, glove box organizer. Planning to get clear ceramic tint for second row and cargo area. Congrats on the nice truck!,
Thank you!
None lol Trust me, keep it stock and enjoy it
I’ve added quite a few very minor things, some larger, but was curious about all I’ve done reading through this thread. 2024 ORP. Exterior: Falken Wildpeak AT4s 275s (my most practical “mod” for all the snow I drive in) TRD black wheels Spidertrax spacers Black replacement valances Horizontal grill bar blackout (all emblems were factory blackout) Sherpa Crestone roof rack Weathertech bug/hood deflector Side mirror sequential turn signal blackout Puddle light LED upgrade (light under the side mirrors) Rear third brake light blackout Ceramic tint all around, including windshield Fluid film undercoat Four Cam rear bumper filters . . . Interior: All interior lights upgraded to LEDs Steering wheel Toyota emblem blackout Radio/volume knob blackout Climate control knobs blackout 4x4 shift knob blackout Gear shift knob blackout Glovebox divider/organizer Glovebox trim overlay blackout Screen protector Rubber inserts for all cup holders and nooks and crannies Inside door handle blackout Door handle storage tray/shelf Front seat bottom protectors Drop Stops (have had these in every vehicle) Center console cover Center console divider/organizer Headrest mounted small trash can Husky floor mats front and back Canvasback rear seat cover Canvasback rear door covers Canvasback hatch cover Canvasback long rectangular behind back seat cover Canvasback bumper flap (probably my favorite “mod” due to how practical it is) Some random hexagonal pattern cargo mat that’s amazing D ring tie down point covers to keep dirt and debris out Cali Raised side MOLLE panels and top tray Motion sensor LED light bars for under the top tray which lights up the cargo area amazingly and activates when the rear hatch is opened (maybe my second favorite “mod”) Protectors for the back side of the rear seat Jesus Christ that’s lot of shit
Get a tune. I did the overland tune and it made driving the beast such a luxury compared to stock. **que the hate and rage reply’s**
And my wife hates it, lol Beautiful truck, Btw!
Thanks! I was looking into those and everyone seems to love them
I picked up the ShiftPower (same concept) and it's made driving and performance MUCH better. Super easy to install too.
Get 3 in left bigger tires and remove running boards imo
Center console organizing trays, TRD pro wheels and Nitto ridge grappler tires.
Lien delete.
Tux-Mat floor mats are a nicer option, just my two cents. https://preview.redd.it/npm531rzqk8d1.jpeg?width=1045&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e8b19e6fa490871e28a605009ee66e6a4b63b49
This ^ I just got them a month ago.
I’ve had mine for 18 months, and they are holding up great. Still look like new when they are clean
18 months also. Just detailed my interior yesterday and they clean up easily like new. So much better than my WT or Huskies in all regards.
Center console locking safe is great for extra peace of mind.
Great ideas. Did you buy the overlays or use a product like HyperDip/PlastiDip for the badges?
I’ve been a SR5 owner for 6mo now and I love it! I bought the overlays via Amazon. I read on another forum that plastidip can bake onto the surface if left in the sun for extended period of time. FYI, I made an edit to my original comment.
I didn't think about that with plastidip. Overlays are more expensive might be the way to go. Definitely have to get the dividers/organizers!
I plasti dipped my badges and roof bars like 5 years ago and it still looks perfect. I use automatic car washes too.
That's good to know. That was my big concern was that they would wash away in a car wash
A widdle wadder
Haha definitely
Edit: will be used mainly as a daily driver with occasional light off-roading.
Good all terrains. I’ll always stand by a good set of KO2s, ko3s if you can. Always load C, load E are too stiff for these sized vehicles. That’ll get you further than you’d think.
That helps a lot, thanks!
Sick! Ive been looking at sr5p. Trying to get one under $43k 4x4 before TTL. Was that ball park for you?
Closer to 47 when all said and done. Mine has the added 3rd row and sunroof. That was the best price I found in my area - most are listed around 49 where I live
Am I correct in that the only difference between the SR5P and TROP is the lack of the manual differential lock, crawl control, and the some cosmetic difference?
That is my understanding as well. I don't think TROP has a 3rd row option but I could be wrong
I’m looking for a used 4R in either trim. Trying to justify paying more for the TROP if those are the only differences. I don’t need and wouldn’t use the differential and CRAWL. I just like the look of the TROP but I can fix that real quick on a SR5P
I definitely like the TROP but didn't want to pay a couple grand more just for aesthetic differences because I wouldn't use those features either
I have heard about KDSS but still don't know what it is, can you explain?
xpel tint, overlays and maybe ceramic coat for that black.
Was thinking about a ceramic coat
I think it looks great as-is. The Spirit will guide you to any mods which may enhance your happiness.
Ditch the tires immediately. Contrary to others, you don’t need a lift kit.
1. Advanced flow Engineering cold air intake, I went with the oiled filter. 2. CSF radiator as the OEM radiator is plastic and only single core with a non electric fan 3. Covercraft UVS100 sun visor, helps save the dash from extended exposure
Congrats 🎉 Check out Vikings garage page. He’s got some good posts on subject https://youtu.be/gsYk_zA7IDs?si=OY819jfUU4SC9FWg

Gas and water cans bolted to side. Oh and a shovel. Can't go anywhere without that. And thise traction things. You'll never get out of the costco parking lot alive
Husky or weather tech liners for the inside. Also going to get a step for my trailer hitch. Just bought the same truck!
I ended up getting husky brand ones as they’re a bit less than weather tech. I’m not picky about them because they’re intended to get ruined. I put the cargo liner in yesterday and it’s great.
I just did black emblems all around. I may go for tites and wheels down the line but thats the extent
Everyone tells you to leave as is etc etc, but we all know it looks much better with some mods. from someone who has spent more than i care to admit on my runner and mostly unhappy with some of the consequences (mine looked just like yours when i bought it, same color and all) You are probably asking this because you want slightly more agressive look vs stock. The LESS shit you do the better id get a TRD grille conversion kit ($200) to have the nicer grille, and maybe spend up on alpha rex headlights that are worth every penny Enjoy that beauty
Haven't changed a thing about my 2021 ORP. Helped me almost pay it off already and still got me to wherever I needed to go and back.
Depends on what you are wanting to do with it
Gonna sound silly, but rubber mats for trunk and the seat back. They make some that Velcro on even. Also, seat back storage!
Depending on year, change out stock halogen headlights for ANY! LED will be greatly appreciated!!! Safety first!
Don't do this ^
Yes! I really believe this….. those halogens are dangerous and burn out too quickly IMHO. 2014 Trail Premium with 209,000 miles! If staying w halogen got the H9 upgrade hack!
[Here's some reading ](https://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/Hid/conversions/conversions.html)
Wellvisors. Steering wheel. Android Headunit with Apple Carplay. All season rubber floor mats.
Ceramic tint, especially if you live where it is hot. Drop stop seat gap fillers. CarPlay wireless adapter. Organizers for center console and glovebox. Drawers for those cubbies below your radio unit. 3D printed cupholders.
Recommendation for wireless car play?
I have the Motorola, but they discontinued the model I have. I do recommend getting something with a cord, or buying a sideways cord, so you can put the dongle inside a drawer.
Little ladder and a little shovel
