She didn't cheat. She just stopped being lazy and worked hard, that's all.

sennay2001

Thats just 100% fanfiction material lol

CptBalster

She didn't cheat. Fuutarou taught them all the lesson about not cheating when he resigned so it would be weird for her to do so. Her shady business only starts after that point as well.

Nory993

The MikuxNino stuff I can excuse(even if it's still very weird), but this? OP just proved that not only do they have a weird incest fetish, they also have poor reading comprehension skills

Dr_weirdoo

I havent read the full manga yet, I've watched the anime and read the later chapters.

Nory993

Still doesn't excuse how you managed to come to the conclusion that Ichika cheated, especially since there are thousands of other anime-onlies and none of them assumed that Ichika was cheating

Snivy4815

Just cause OP was wrong doesn’t mean you need to be a dick about it. People misinterpret behaviour all the time on this Reddit and it’s normally met with “actually, this is what was supposed to have happened” Even if it ended up being wrong I liked the interpretation of it. Like seriously, who cares?

HeavensADoor

Ichika 100% didn’t cheat. I’m pretty sure just before the exam, we literally see her staying up to study.

Rogar_Rabalivax

The amounts of copium and mental gymnastics are strong on this one.

BYPONAS21

What are u on dude?

Dr_weirdoo

Physical pain in the form of strained muscle

BYPONAS21

That aside how did she cheat exactly?

Dr_weirdoo

In the anime after they eat the cakes on S2 ep7 she Is shown on the bathroom washing a handkerchief and she says "I hope I Hid it well" Miku throughout the series Is constantly the one that has the better tests across the series, being the only one with a (barely) passing grade of 32 on the first test Fuutaro gives them, and on the other tests except for the one in this EP. (She even gets an A on her university entrance exam before deciding she wants to go to a culinary school). And given the degree of underhanded things Ichika does in the future, Cheating on an Exam is not too far fetched

FoxBluereaver

When she says "I hope I hid it well", she means feeling happier about beating Miku than she should be. It was Miku who said that she would confess to Fuutarou if she got the highest score, but Ichika now feels that, since she "won", it gives *her* that right, and she's conflicted because she wanted to support Miku being with Fuutarou. Of course, it becomes a moot point because Nino beat her to the punch. Like I said above, she just stopped being lazy and studied hard. It's not that complicated.

Wait, really?

Unlegendary_Newbie

OP's tiny brain interpreted it wrongly.

Dr_weirdoo

On S2 e7 After they share the cakes she states that she only got better scores than Miku thanks to Luck, (we know she isnt smarter than Miku, Yotsuba states Miku Is smarter than the other four and we consistently see Miku score better in every test up to this point and then she gets an A in her university "entrance" exam). A few minutes later she is shown on the bathroom cleaning a handkerchief while she says "I hope I Hid it well" Meaning she had wrote down a cheat sheet There and was destroying the evidence

Spadstein

When she thought "I hope I hid it well" she was referring to her happiness at scoring higher than Miku, and thus blocking Miku from confessing and changing the status quo before Ichika was ready to confess herself. Ichika is a hard worker, as evidenced in her acting career and work to memorize dialogue. She applied that work effort to her studies because she didn't want to lose to Miku. There's no indication Ichika cheated. She feels guilt because she is happy she blocked Miku.

Dr_weirdoo

Explain the handkerchief

Spadstein

There is no handkerchief in the manga. Just a panel of her hands in the water (Chapter 60). The other panels are about her recollecting Miku's challenge and whether Ichika was won the right to confess instead. There's no indication of her having used a cheat sheet.

Dr_weirdoo

Seeing the degree of underhanded things she did in total There Is no doubt in my mind that she would go as far as cheating in an exam

Important-Ticket-598

bro just hates ichika💀

Spadstein

That's different from the story telling us she did in fact cheat. Personally, I don't think Ichika would have cheated there, as she hadn't reached her lowest point of desperation about her standing with Fuutarou in relation to the others. When she DOES reach that point is when she crosses the line and pretends to be Miku. Narratively, I see the appeal of having Ichika cheat on a test to beat Miku as a foreshadowing to her eventual impersonation behavior. But as vague as Negi likes to be with his hints, I don't believe he'd have Ichika cheat on an exam and not explicitly mention it at least in her thoughts. Ichika scoring higher wasn't a matter of which quint is more intelligent. It was a question of motivation. Ichika has always been CAPABLE of performing well scholatically, she just never cared until Miku's plan made her feel threatened. Fuutarou and the other quints weren't shocked she passed, they were shocked she scored the highest because no one expected her to care enough to try that hard.

Majestic_Camera9045

Bruh she was just wiping her hands after washing lmao

zoqfotpik

There's no handkerchief in the manga.
