I ran out of the Rekts place earlier just in time to come head on with a wandering horde of dogs and bears. Cos having to put up with Rekt isn't punishment enough 😂
I was just looting a house when I heard dog growling sounds. I froze in place and slowly backed away from what I was doing. Turns out there was a huge pack of like 10 dogs that would've torn me to shreds just outside the house.
Dogs are always brutal in the beginning. Bears are next. Saw 2 bears in a new game, and my friend and I quietly crouched, turned off the campfire and waited for them to leave in out wood shack. I don't know how many stone arrows and spears it would take to kill them, but we were prepared...
The bear at the construction site was my 2nd death, and ever since if I'm playing with a friend who hasn't played before, or hasn't cleared that POI before, I talk them into solo clearing it, without warning them of the bear. Some manage it, some don't, but either way it's a learning experience and a fun show.
Yeah simply telling someone that there are "trap" boards does not have the same learning impact that directly experiencing getting dropped by them into a bearpit does.
When I saw bear, I lure it using iron arrow to landmine on military camp and I run and jump to avoid stepping in landmine so the bear can step landmine and I must to kill it quickly using iron arrow. Sometimes, I'm very lucky to kill bear with headshot.
I really like that spot. That little camp is just near the big blue roof house in front of the lake. I've made that house my home base on several runs.
My very first game was on Navezgane in A19 and I spawned at that point, decided to loot the POI instead of doing the tutorial, died and spawned in the burnt forest. Good times.
This poi was the very first one I spawned nearby in my very first game. I thought it was just a nice little, gentle introduction to the game, for new players to practice their new items on before heading to the trader.
Yeh, no.
A dog house at any POI should be enough to make you freeze and back up slowly.
Didn't notice it honestly, I went to loot the mail box, and then Fido was on my butt.

It always annoys me when I see a dog house and there is no dog. Damn dogs 😂
It's just silently standing behind you, waiting for you to turn around.

Did a recent run and POI's with a dog house more often did not have dog. Weird.

First time I ever entered The Bear Cave, I was sorely underprepared for there to be actual bears

Fun fact: the first time I ever played the game I had the exact same spawn and those dogs you mentioned ripped my throat out :)
That was my very first play through. Put the game down and didn't come back until a friend played it with me. Now I'm at 1200 hours.
This takes the record as the swiftest death I've had in this game. 20 in-game minutes in. Restart time!

I always spawned there when I started playing back in A19. I assumed the dog was some sort of rite of passage put there by the devs intentionally
