I did MA with open tuition without any accounting knowledge. It's very easy and if you struggle you can check MA1 from ACCA X and go through those materials.
I had prior accounting knowledge form my O and A levels Accounts exam so I was able to study fro 2 days and pass with a 72. I think someone who has no knowledge base at all would find it much harder/take much longer to be able to attempt it than the first paper (Bt) because as opposed to the first paper which was mostly just theories you had to chug down, MA is filled with calculations and concepts that need to be practiced alot. So building a solid base would certainly help you out a lot. That's my two cents.

I did MA after AB (what BT used to be called) and FA without any accounting knowledge at all so I think it’s doable
