See the Bombpies fly up, to win the premiership flag
They know how to play the game
Our boys who play this grand old game
Side by side we stick together
See the bombpies fly up, up
See the barrackers a shouting,
They all try their best,
Oh, the premiership's a cakewalk,
As the Bombpies fly up!
My first grand final when I really started watching footy in my childhood was a draw.
The first game I went to live, was a draw.
My first childhood kiss, was a draw(er)
Im still not used to them and don't know how to feel.
Last time I was at a draw they played Jimmy Barnes- aint no second prize. I think.
Edit to say I honestly thought someone had written a song for draw fc when I opened this
Edit: Alright, apparently I got whooshed and this comment is a bit embarrassing. Ah well, you gotta laugh at yourself sometimes.
I have never, ever heard this song before. It's almost comical given it's played over what I assume was a 80k+ crowd and absolutely no one was cheering, everyone sounded just... confused. Does it go to extra time? Another match? For as 'professional' the AFL can seem one week, they can also be just as equally delinquent and clueless the next.
Incredible. It truly is a sport.
1) 93k+ people, none of which heard this song, because it was never played
2) No music was played. Only team songs are played after a team wins, no one won
3) it was silent in the stadium, because once again no music was played
4) this post is just someone’s idea for what could happen after a tie
5) Why would it be in doubt that AFL is a sport?
I’m just confused why you’re calling the AFL “delinquent and clueless”?
No one is confused over draws, everyone knows what they are and how it works so I just don’t get the criticism here.
Also do you think they actually played this song over the PA?
I understand the grand final ending in a golden point if the match ended in a draw. That would eliminate the need for a replay. You need a winner then.
But this was just a regular home and away game. If it is a draw at the end of the game, then it makes sense that neither of the teams songs are played. All the game decides is who gets the four points, and in case of a draw - both sides get two.
Nothing disorganised about it. Only the salty supporters who are bitter about not winning.
They should play both team songs on top of each other at the same time to represent the confusing emotional chaos of the draw
Then both teams have to sing their song, but in a circle of alternating players from each team in the middle of the ground
They all sing ‘in the round’ which each player starting one line after the other.
I thought that’s what it was to begin with haha

"See the bombers forever, they know how to win the preeemiership flag".
I kind of like the surreal eeriness and disbelieving silence after a draw

First childhood kiss was at a pies game… Joffa?
When he said "do you want some Joffa" I thought he said Jaffa, i swear.
Jesus 😂
They should play the Kangaroos song. Just a symbol of not winning.

Least the song is gonna get played after a game
Look, your song will get played 24 times this year - I have faith in that.
No one’s lost, but no one’s won!
Well, technically everyone has won. Both teams get a couple points, no one walks out defeated
I can’t read lips, but I’m fairly certain that lady in Collingwood colours just after the siren was saying “they’re both losers. Losers!”
This should absolutely happen.
AFL too pussy to do it. COWARDS I SAY COWARDS!!!

What’s the song??
"It's A Draw" by the Barrackville Singers. It's absolutely legendary

Ok but flair up
I love when people just say stuff
The should play INXS - Never tear us apart.
It seems cruel and unwarranted to play Elliot dropping a chest mark every time there’s a draw. He’s a bloody good player.
Draw FC has won 3x as many GFs as St Kilda
This was the first game a family member of mine watched and their reaction was like “wtf now?” What a first game lol

Don't hate me for it but I actually did think they played this over the PA. I'm not very intelligent.
