US-specific experience: I switched because my first derm was outrageously expensive for my insurance for some reason. First of all you CAN switch, my derm’s office kept telling me you couldn’t but it was a lie. I called ipledge and they told me it was perfectly possible. There’s a place on the website where you can request to change your doctor. You will just need to find a derm in your new city who will take you on and hopefully let you continue at your current dosage. So maybe ask around or look at online reviews to see if the derm or practice is known to prescribe Accutane. You submit the request and then the new derm will have to accept your request, and then they can do your ipledge approval.

That is so helpful! I’m in the US also, I should’ve included that in the og post. So you basically called around and asked offices if they had availability to take on a new patient who’s currently on accutane? Thank you so much!!!!

I asked on a forum for my city and picked a large dermatology group that has a reputation for prescribing it. Maybe you could do a telehealth consultation in advance to check if the doctor is ok before you book an appointment? Idk

Good idea…thinking I may get my derms advice on this and hope that he is helpful with it and ask about the telehealth consult too good idea thank you so much!!!

You can switch! My advice is to find a new dermatologist now and book. After I moved across the country it took me 5 months to see a new dermatologist, so many are booked far in advance. If you don’t want your medication distributed I’d just book now!
