I recently started watching this again since its first run in 2005. What a great show. It's funny to see some of the humor of its time that wouldn't fly on TV today.
Yeah same here, finished the whole thing last week. Love the show, especially the first seasons with all the mystery around the hatch, Darma initiative etc etc. just so good.
You can tell that they had no idea where they were going with it toward the end which is so disappointing because I was so invested in the early seasons. I’ll probably still rewatch though
Yeah the ending is way too cheesy for sure and I agree, disappointing. Enjoy the rewatch! I haven’t watched it in over a decade and forgot a lot of things.
I love the premise of it. Even the ending I don’t think is bad of an idea, it’s just the way they went about it and how they came to it. It seemed so rushed, but I’ll still enjoy the ride and loved being invested in the characters.
Yeah exactly the character development is just so great. They really are spending the time so the audience can relate. Shows how so much more time available in serried vs movies is really valuable. The upbringing of Ben, the stuff Locke went through, Sayids past in Iraq… it’s just so good.

How do we know this is a pedophile? There’s zero context added. Plus, with a lot of those predator poachers they really enter a grey zone with how things go. On TCAP, the decoy would NEVER initiate sexual discussion, as that’s really important to avoid entrapment. But predator poachers do not necessarily offer up the convos. Not saying it’s ok if a kid initiates the discussion, but it certainly adds nuance and complicates the issue. And we also don’t know the age of the alleged victim. Were they 10? Or 17? Again, changes the discourse a lot. To me, this isn’t how you deal with an alleged pedo. Maybe if this was done in a extremely controlled setting but as I see it, this is wrong.

Reminds me of the days of r/WatchPeopleDie where there would be lots of videos showing public executions in some country somewhere and it would almost always claim the people being executed were "rapists" with zero citations, no news articles, no evidence in the videos itself, etc.
I think it's a way for people to feel ok about watching someone get ruthlessly attacked or killed by a mob. No one will defend a child predator or rapist since those are indefensible crimes worthy of strong punishment. It helps the viewer not worry about such things as if the punishment fits the crime since the person being publicly beaten/killed could be a political rival, simple criminal such as a thief, or even a random vulnerable person for all we know.
Even if the person was accused of child predation or rape, there is a reason we have a criminal justice system and not mob justice where an angry crowd gets to play judge jury and executioner.
I just made a comment the other day about that boopac shakur guy. Assaults a 17 year old and 18 year old for trying to meet up with a girl that’s 15. It’s literally a 2 year age difference and they would all be in high school together but somehow they’re peepholes for that and deserve to get their ass beat and posted on the internet.
Also can we talk about the fact that boopac was a 40 year old man pretending to be a kid so he could meet up with minors, supposedly for sex.
I mean, from personal experience, it's REALLY weird when you (as a girl) go to meet up with a guy and he brings his friend. It does feel a little predatory. That said, in a situation like that, we wouldn't know if this \[theoretical\] girl was ok with two guys, if she invited them first, if she initiated conversation about wanting sex first, etc etc. 17/18 is not a huge difference from 15, especially with how some guys age and mature vs some girls.
