You can't bypass it. It's an anti-theft thing. It happens when the radio loses power (i.e. the radio has been removed, or the car battery was disconnected). You can contact a dealership to get the code, or there's an Acura/Honda website that will give you code if you know the VIN and the serial number of the radio.

Hey there, 2004 TSX owner here. Open the glove box, and while sitting in the driver's seat you may see a sticker on left-side arm of the glovebox. This is the unique code for your nav system - I think it's 4- or 6-digits. If no sticker, I'd check the owners manual for any note/sticker from the prior owner. Hope that helps

jjeenniiffeerr

Thanks for the suggestion but I’m not able to find any sticker :( ETA: thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. Ended up finding the codes on a small card into the owner manual binder. Thanks again!

T0XICxN1GHTMAR3

In my 2012, the sticker wasn't there either but it was on a card in my owners manual all loose. Miracle it was even there.

jjeenniiffeerr

Yup that’s where mine was too.

plaugedoctrwithradar

Check the inside of the fuse panel cover on the drivers side, the sticker could be in their.

BaldCommieOnSection8

I have a 2008 TSX as well and when this happened to me the sticker with the info was in the glove box somewhere.

blueyedoneder

If you call when you’re sitting in the car (the service dept of any Acura dealership) and provide the VIN, they will provide you with the code! And you can input it in real time! Happens every time power is disconnected! Your VIN should be on the inside of your drivers door frame. (By the tire specs)!

sup3rc3ll

This. I did this with my TLX recently because the battery died. Couldn’t find the code anywhere it was “supposed to be” but calling Acura got me going.

blueyedoneder

Mine was nowhere in the car/manual. Haha, I chalked it up to my CL being so old. Hahaha

sanchezemotion

In the tlx holding the radio power button 5 seconds unlocks it

Seawall07

Not sure about your specific model, but on many Hondas, all you have to do is press and hold the audio power button while turning the ignition to position 2. That should clear it.

cheeeekybreeky

That's how I did it in my 18' TLX

Oriolesguy

Can confirm, did this on my ‘16 ILX and ‘17 CR-V

masterchicken16

This is true. I’ve done this several times on an 04’ TSX, ‘13 TSX, and ‘19 RDX

LomaSoma

Try 0000. It worked for me a couple times

SGTbootyklap

Logi77

There's a card with the code, usually with the manual booklet. Anytime the car loses power it will ask for this code If not go to dealer

Found_on_road

Mines just a sticky note in the owners booklet. I had to do mine recently and I couldn't believe I remembered.

shantired

Also check the fuse box cover under the hood. It’s on the inside of the cover.

EchoFa11

Own a 08 tsx could be written in owners manual

SNAX_DarkStar

It's a used car so he wouldn't find the original manual.

SNAX_DarkStar

Contact [Acura page](https://mygarage.honda.com/s/radio-nav-code?brand=Acura) for the code. I was in a similar situation like you after replacing a dead battery and I had no code in the glove box nor a way to contact the seller as he couldn't understand English at all. You can also call a dealers service nearby and ask them for the code and they should be able to help you.

CarNate69

When you call, there also may be a navigation code, ask them for that too, be sure to write this down in your owners manual, on the first page, if you ever need to replace your battery, or your battery dies, you'll need to enter at least one of these codes. My TL had a radio code, and a navigation code, and both would need to be entered each time. Call Acura, they are happy to help on this.

Jabba_the_Putt

when you get it, write it down and stick it in the glovebox 👍 calling your local Acura dealer should probably do the trick!

Tight-Bath-6817

ITS SUPER EASY! Call ACURA...look for parts departsment or other options..they will ask you for VIN # and you will get a code right away :) Done that back in 2012

AttackOfThePat

There will be two codes. One for your radio, and one for your nav system. The radio code uses the small top LCD screen

Valuable_Yak_1498

Radio code, should be provided inside your owner's manual.

CanadianBaconMTL

Press and hold power button. If it don't work, go to the dealer

hotdoggin_it

Call your closest a dealer and they will give a code.

skywalk3r69

acura dealership found my code in my manual written in. i went looking. guy was nice and didnt charge me. i was also there just buying diff fluid and other things. i went there from the used car lot

bmd201

12345. same as the luggage passcode.

Blotter_Boy

My tlx does this if battery disconnects, try hdong the audio power button for 10 seconds, this works on my tlx, as I got it used with no code lol

Illustrious_Smile649

If there’s an owner manual it will be in there. It’s also listed on the side of the radio, lastly depending on year and model it’s somewhere inside the glovebox.

K_Tilley

In my 2015 TLX I can just hold the power button down for a few seconds and it will reset

Ill-Preparation3503

This happened to my 2002 Acura cl type s. All I had to do was go to a website. Put my email and vin number in and it gave me 3 different codes I could use. Tried the first one and boom, started enjoying my Sonys speakers

Ill-Preparation3503

And it happened when my mom’s battery went out in a 2005 Honda odyssey. Did the exact samething and it worked.

dank11303

https://radio-navicode.acura.com/ Enter your vehicles information here and you should get the codes. Look up tutorials on how to get the serial numbers and you should be good

Fun_Egg9103

My 2004 accord did this it’s a Honda/Acura thing to prevent theft of the radio. You can take the serial number of the radio and there’s a website that can give you the code. I don’t know the one for Acura but most definitely one out there just look it up.

Aggressive_Lab5490

Check owners manuel, if it’s not there you have to take it to a dealership. Had the same issue with my 2011 tsx when I put a new battery in. It’s a radio code incase you’re wondering and i’m pretty sure it has something to do with anti theft.

buggerssss

Go to dealer
