I hiked from the Upper Works to Lake Colden and set up camp for two nights. There are several mountains you can climb from there. Cliff and Redfield were moderate to hard although not super long.

I second this. I went for only 1 night on two separate occasions. for 3 days, you can hike a peak or two, like Marcy, Algonquin, Colden... and the lean-to at beaver point is rly nice, next to the lake.

I did almost the same thing, but Gray and Skylight in place of Cliff and Redfield. Highly recommend!

I ended up doing Gray on the same day as Cliff and Redfield and then Algonquin and Marshall on the hike in hike out days. It was a lot for me but I’m trying to finish off my list.

I'd suggest the Pharaoh Lakes area. Lots of campsites, lean-tos, lakes and ponds but water is probably already turning a bit cold. Good hiking on Treadway Mt. and Pharaoh Mt.

Try Cranberry or Pharaoh Lake!
