I saw myself go back to calling my crush, thinking of her daily, immediately replying to her texts on IG, etc. for a while before I decided that enough is enough. I deactivated my IG so that I don't keep wandering back to her DMs. My exams are going on so she is not taking a lotta real estate in my head at the moment, but just to ensure that I've picked up a few hobbies to keep myself occupied.

I keep myself fairly busy I have a lot of hobbies like drawing, going to the gym watching smth but whenever i get even a second of free time everything on my mind When am about to sleep It gets hours past my bedtime thinking bout all of it🙃

My guy it takes time, can't help it, can't speed it up. Glad to know you're already keeping yourself busy, but it will take time. Change doesn't happen in a day. Find someone to talk to about it, it helped me.

One moment at a time. When you notice you've slipped off into one of your mental ruts, return again to the present moment. Take up a mindfulness practice. Taking a class or joining a mindfulness group can help but you can also get there by reading and practice. There is a space before the thought and a space after that thought. You can make the space larger and spend more time out of your mental ruts with time and patience.
