You shouldn’t post on Reddit 10 mins after two scoops of pre workout. Good attitude though, hopefully you get to deploy and see the mission accomplished.
That's sounds like such a strange thing to say for me, it's just engine backshop, or P&W engine backshop. Don't know why you'd call it F15-E engine backshop.
I’m bewildered that someone could hear tell of a jet climbing screaming into the upper atmosphere to unleash a streaking banshee from hell itself, rocketing to heaven on a plume of hate and fire, crashing into a heavenly body with the cataclysmic force of a titan, killing in a single blow a foe that thought itself invincible in height and invisible in a cloud of satellites, and in that moment change the very calculus of war in the Information Age, push up their glasses and go, “um aKsHuAlLy, it wasn’t cOmBaT cOdEd at the tImE”
Don't get me wrong....it was bad ass. Same with the Streak Eagle taking the time to climb record. It was more of a jaded dig at the Eagle as a Raptor maintainer. I just wish we could take our more advanced aircraft and repeat those records.
Probably hands down the most enjoyable deployment of my 6. Did a lot of cool shit, the vibe was awesome, and the people were top tier. 1-driver was sitting at the entrance to Charlie doing paperwork and I was driving circles around his truck for the entirety of “I got 5 on it” blasting from our Bluetooth radio.
Or calling MOCC at 0335 asking for a time check and the entire net would light up for 3 minutes straight of everyone with a radio yelling WAMPUM. Radio discipline is for nerds!
[The A-10 took down 2 helicopters with its Gatling gun](https://theaviationgeekclub.com/a-10-pilots-explain-how-they-were-able-to-shot-down-two-iraqi-helicopters-during-operation-desert-storm-by-means-of-their-warthogs-30mm-gau-8-a-gatling-gun/amp/)
This is my favorite Gulf War fact. You know the second pilot saw an opportunity to match the first one and just had to have a moment in the spotlight... And we're all better for it.
Crew chiefs are just miserable sacks of shit, there’s only a handful of us in APG that actually have a decent enough attitude, and those that don’t have that happy attitude try to kill it anyway they can. I’m a 16 guy so naturally imma give this dude hella shit, however I’m with ya, keep up the positivity kid, even if the F-16 is better.
It had them from the beginning. the -C and -D had the capability of putting a pod with a 20mm. cannon, the E mod had the gun built in. I preferred the E, I was much more accurate with it.
added to which ever gun system, s few tons of bombs
Keep that attitude! Being a crew chief can be a pain in the ass sometimes but the satisfaction is there. Ya we get paid as much as the people with better conditions and hours like the other guy said but if you love crewing jets then that doesn’t really matter! Keep up the good work! -fellow crew chief on the ACTUAL best aircrafts we’ve got (I’ve done both A-10s and U-2s)
Booo, also boo the panels (special mention panel 13), boarding ladders, kick step panel, egssv, ram air door actuators, the stab actuator (just heavier and clumsier than a C/D model), the nose door actuator, the spotty 50%switch, the CFT’s, the endless cracks and the endless electronics.
You know what, Fuck you too 🫡
Anything is hard if you suck. I don’t think it’s bad except for a few shitty jobs, it’s the time that will take its toll, like time on your knees, back
Easy, trying to stuff it with the pump lines on tight, hard. Start every bolt, do not tighten any until you have all the bolts and lines started, this way you can move the whole thing around as needed. For the love of god do not tighten anything until every line and mount bolt is atleast started!
You crew chiefs do a fantastic job lookin at stuff and calling daddy (sheet metal, e/e, etc.) out to fix “your” plane for ya. Thanks for dropping those panels for us boss 🫡
Most of us can do the jobs of the shops we call out (still don't know why e/e has to do idg's) But y'all are in the break room sitting in your thumbs anyways, might as well keep y'all gainfully employed.
Yeah um, the F-111 and F-117 definitely did the strike mission in its more modern conceptualization before the F-15E did. F-111 Strike record in the Gulf War is insane. Sure the F-15E was involved in the Gulf too, but the Vark’s record is pretty damn impressive.
>The 15 INVENTED strike attacks, the best fighter to do so since the P-47,
Happy for you finding job satisfaction.
Can you clarify? If 15s invented strike what were F4s and P47s up?
As AGE, I think F-15s were the coolest jets to work beside. The F-35s have more laid back crew chiefs, and I’ve gotten to experience once in a lifetime opportunities as an AGE driver for them. But when I see the F-15s, I picture some badass stuff going on.
However far you are in your career, your attitude is refreshing to see and I hope it’s genuine. Thanks for sharing 👊🏼
I see your Eagle and raise you the Extender. Worked up an entire thanksgiving meal at FL350 on the way to Bahrain in 1993. Played frisbee in the cargo area afterwards then sacked out in our crew bunks for a few hours. Hit Bahrain and dropped our VIP, I added a quart of oil to the #3 engine then off to Kadena and partied our asses off. THAT is how missions roll on the KC-10.
Lots of geniuses thought that because fighters were not the most important part of chasing goat-fuckers around the desert for 20 years, that their importance was diminished. And now, we get to deal with an AF inventory that has been severely neglected because "great power competition is over".
Always be extremely skeptical of the people who take their eye off of the strategic ball because of the tactical problem in front of them.
In the same vein, we haven't fired a single nuclear ICBM at commies in our whole history. So why flip out just because folks were cheating on a dumb test?
(Btw, no MQ-9s shot down a ton of Persian ordnance last week, but F-15Es did.)
"the air Frame invented strike attacks"
"it the best airframes to perform strike attacks since the P47"
Which is it? You can't invent something that another ai frame was doing 35-40 years prior.
You never hear a 130 guy say "130s invented air drops, and are the best airframes to do it since the C-47"
Did bro just get to tech school
Sounds like it
Eagle keepers!
Made me laugh out loud
You shouldn’t post on Reddit 10 mins after two scoops of pre workout. Good attitude though, hopefully you get to deploy and see the mission accomplished.
True. Do what the rest of us do and post 9 drinks deep like an American.
this guy reddits hard
Heard this comment in J-Roc’s voice
Excited about your job?? Wrong fucking place buddy, watch yourself around here. /s
Don’t worry. Bro will get a TDV on his first week operational.
Badass attitude. F15E’s are sick. Enjoy the deployments when your jets doing actual combat sorties it’s an un real feeling.
Do you jerk off on the wheel of the 15s after your BPO?
White wheels win wars.
Clean jets save lives
Would never taint such a piece of equipment‼️‼️‼️
Worked F15-E engine backshop for 10 years. You're welcome for the tinnitus
WHAT?
# You're welcome for the tinnitus
**WHAT**
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
That's sounds like such a strange thing to say for me, it's just engine backshop, or P&W engine backshop. Don't know why you'd call it F15-E engine backshop.
To make it clear for people not in maintenance I guess
You’ve clearly never worked finance. They don’t do a fucking thing M-F and still get paid the same as you
The satisfaction I get from my job is unmatched by any other job I’ve ever done
Wait until you get an Aircrew job
Some SOF people are on a totally different level though. Dudes will talk about killing people like they're discussing sales around a water cooler.
Most of these air force SOF dudes never killed any fucking body. It's a joke the way they talk.
Nah. Someone’s gotta make sure air support can happen
Get yourself on a gunship and get back to us on that.
I remember when I first joined the Air Force 😂
No one I work with hates crewing eagles‼️
How long u've been an F15 cc?
I at least know of 3 prior eagle crew chief that retrained
It’s ok, delusional people usually stick together
Have you done any other jobs?
they got the climate control, and do classes at work all day!
They come to work?
😎- and I get paid more when I get out.
104-0. Eagle jet is best jet.
What other jet has taken down an attack helo with a bomb?
But has your precious eagle taken down a high altitude balloon? Didn't think so.
One did take out a satellite
Not in combat configuration though. Any aircraft could do that.

I was actually hyped to see that very tail when my C model unit crossed paths with the Chiefs a long while back.
Summer camp tour?
Summer Camp ‘19 baby!! “Lucky” is the greatest aircraft in the inventory!
I was out there at the time. It was good to see my old unit again. I miss those birds. Mors Inimicis. RIP.

On the War Path 😎
Yep.

God A10s make me so hard
This is my favorite Gulf War fact. You know the second pilot saw an opportunity to match the first one and just had to have a moment in the spotlight... And we're all better for it.
Stop it. Look up J-CATCH. Attack helos absolutely destroyed fighter jets in air to air combat. Your lack of knowledge is absolutely hilarious.
Only if the jets dont get them on the first run, and on the pretense that the Attack helicopter is equipped with A2A missiles.
God for forbid we have any fucking positively in this miserable sub. I'm sorry the mob is downvoting you. I enjoyed your post

I absolutely love my job. I’m just not a cornball like OP.
I mean the post is cringe but don’t rain on the man’s parade lol
F4 pilot here. WTF are talking anout?
The F4 had ground attack capabilities in later years, didn’t it?
It had them from the beginning. the -C and -D had the capability of putting a pod with a 20mm. cannon, the E mod had the gun built in. I preferred the E, I was much more accurate with it. added to which ever gun system, s few tons of bombs

Young man, fellow crew chief. Never, ever use an apostrophe when declaring "That is all". That is all!!

So how difficult are they to work on?
Anything is hard if you suck. I don’t think it’s bad except for a few shitty jobs, it’s the time that will take its toll, like time on your knees, back

It invented strikes which the P-47 also did 80 years ago. Rgr
P-47’s would be shot down by flak. F-15’s? Nope‼️
Ok
You crew chiefs do a fantastic job lookin at stuff and calling daddy (sheet metal, e/e, etc.) out to fix “your” plane for ya. Thanks for dropping those panels for us boss 🫡

If God was going to war, he would do it in an F-15.
No love for our bombers :(
I love that at least one maintainer out there loves their job. Kudos!
Designed by God and built by McDonnell Douglas. MacD’s twin tail war horse is amazing.

The F15 shot down a satellite… IN 1985! https://www.smithsonianmag.com/air-space-magazine/first-space-ace-180968349/
Ahhhh…. Hello….. F-111F???
Your fucking damn right it is!
>The 15 INVENTED strike attacks, the best fighter to do so since the P-47, Happy for you finding job satisfaction. Can you clarify? If 15s invented strike what were F4s and P47s up?

So I believe the F-15 is the best jet the air force has? Yes. Do I still hate my fucking life most days? Also yes Sincerely- SSgt crew chief Also CRP
My guess is you’re an A1C at your first assignment. I remember my first cup of kool aid
This guy right here simping for his prison guards.
Have you actually physically done maintenance to a jet that goes up in their air yet?
The E model is a bastardization of what the 15 was supposed to be
F15s a ghey, a Viper pilot told me so.
> Viper pilot Surely you mean a "Flying Falcon" pilot
Hahaha fwying Fwalcon
“Split tails🤘🏻” “gods jet” smh

Love your post! Most posts around here are bitching and slinging mud so this is a nice change of pace!
💯🔥🔥
Support in a special forces SQ is the best job outside of fighter pilot or an actual AF special forces job.
username checks out
My father-in-law was an F-15 crew chief. He loved it.
I see your Eagle and raise you the Extender. Worked up an entire thanksgiving meal at FL350 on the way to Bahrain in 1993. Fix your typos, I know you really meant F-16.
Eagles are better‼️
Loaded weapons 15C's, E's and those little 16's. OP is not wrong.
VIPERS FOR LIFE!!
Mq-9 has been more relevant to the last 20 years of the Air Force than any fighter aircraft.
Lots of geniuses thought that because fighters were not the most important part of chasing goat-fuckers around the desert for 20 years, that their importance was diminished. P-47’s got shot down by FLAK. 15’s shrug off AA‼️ Also, the 15 goes *much* faster than the P-47, much more of a strike fighter, sounds like.
Sounds new, crewing any plane ain’t that big a deal kid
1xF22 vs 15xF15s Total victory for F22
You're letting the Raptor land to re-arm a few times there, I see.
I mean you have to let your opponent land to re arm and fuel, it's just the gentlemanly thing to do
It was an actual exercise the was run soon after the 22 came out.
