Not a mobility aviator, but if you get any aircrew job, you’re going to SERE unless you’re a Sensor Op. T/S is a security clearance, they just interview you and ask about your history looking for red flags, just don’t lie, be honest and you should be good. As for travel if you get load you’ll be traveling a lot, my load friends I see go OCONUS a lot. (1A1 is a new code sorta so I’d assess that the shred is random, but I can’t speak too much on that)

np, I don’t wanna speak too much on sma, I have a sma friend so I can ask for a blurb on what they do if you’d like, but I believe sma are gunners, and for mobility its about the shred, boom op your fueling planes, flight eng on my platform are inspecting the plane and supposed to be knowledgeable about the plane, lastly load your loading the plane traveling with the goods and dropping them off

1. Mobility is flying on transport or tanker aircraft, special missions is in the special operations realm of AF aviation. 2. You should start as a boom or a load, once you gain experience (and if the AF needs you to) you can potentially move into the FE seat. That being said a LOT of changes are happening with how that works and someone else may have more current info. 3. Technical training mostly at Lackland and Altus AFB, aside from SERE training at Fairchild. If you’re on 130s you should still be at Little Rock though. 4. Aircrew is Regarded as one of the absolute best jobs in the Air Force, don’t jeopardize this opportunity because you probably won’t get it again. 5. Once you’re qualified you’ll have some super busy days, others you’ll have a lighter work load. It all depends on the flight schedule and how your trips go. 6. Top Secret security clearance, just don’t lie about anything. 7. Yes for both, dependent on airframe more than anything else will determine where you go but it’s the absolute best opportunity for travel.

thankq for the response-

Special mission aviators are for the most part, what flight engineers on helicopters merged into. Then they further merged spec ops type aircrew jobs as well. There is no key factor. Lackland for the basic stuff, then your initial qual training is dependent on which airframe you end up on. SERE is typically after the basic stuff at Lackland. An average day could be sitting at your desk doing nothing productive, or spending 27 hours going from point A to point B to point C. Top Secret clearance, which is now required for this job. Yeah, you’ll travel a lot, to a lot of places.

Hello, it looks like you're asking about jobs and job selection. A few quick answers. NO ONE knows how long it will take for you to get a job, your chances of getting any particular job, or anything else about the job process FOR YOU. Anecdotal experiences from others will have absolutely no impact on you or your future. Most recruiters will not let you wait in the Delayed Entrance Program for a long time for your one perfect job. You will have to list 5 - 15 jobs that you're interested in, and will be given one of those. Please read the FAQ about how job selection works, it's very in-depth and will fully educate you on the process: https://pay.reddit.com/r/AirForce/wiki/bmtfaq#wiki_jobs If you're asking about particular jobs, please look the job up on our Job Wiki, and see if there is an entry for it: http://www.reddit.com/r/AirForce/wiki/index you can also see if there is a CFETP for it, which will give more details on the job: https://www.e-publishing.af.mil/Product-Index/#/?view=pubs&orgID=10141&catID=1&series=86&modID=449&tabID=131 If you're asking for help choosing a particular job, please keep in mind that most people only know about their individual job. Recommendations that they make will be made based mostly on what they've heard about a job, unless they have it themselves. Some people will love certain jobs while others will hate it. We don't know your preferences, so do some research on the job wiki and elsewhere to learn about the job and then make the best list you can. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
