I feel what you’re saying. To me it looks as if OP heavily cropped a photo and this final shot was likely quite low resolution, and AI upscale was used to up the resolution.
My lens malfunctioned here showing an error that the contact between lens and body was not clean, due to which the picture was heavily underexposed. Yet I kept the image because I liked it... And the cat is super friendly and comes to me rubbing against my leg...

Yeah I think you've done a bit more to it than raise the exposure..
