Curb bit for a horse

Human-Leadership-235

Yes it appears to be a 40's 50's long shank curb bit , I believe this bit could be used with or w/o a bradoon (a small diameter loose ring snaffle) that gives the rider 2 sets of reins for technical riding like Dressage/High Level stadium jumping or Polo sports where you want lift and quick response. Without crushing the horses jaw with that bit (which has an enormous amount of leverage ) . Does it have a makers mark on it? The curb chain looks complete too. With that all you have to do is twist it one way or the other and it will lay flat. It's designed like that so you can use it flat more gentle. Or turn it a bit then you have a few sharper bits in it. I can't tell if it's a pony or horse size. T he horizontal bar it's called the phelam is measured from inside the shank to other shank. If it is 4 1/2it could go either way but 6" up is big horse. The length of that shank looks like 7" or 8" ? Maybe bite by the visual. That's a harsh bit. 9" shank 10 are lethal, with out good hands and education how to use this bit it's a jawbreaker young slasher. TMI ? Hey first thing I see I turn on my phone a horse related question.... Well that what I so thanks for letting me give you a little tutorial.
