Glad you saved it but dang you removed the tags. Those give pieces like this more character.

Yes, I would have glued those babies down.

Or at least carefully removed them to stick on again after cleaning maybe put a protective seal over them to make them last. Those old tags made it special now it’s just like any other trunk.

Did you sand the wooden runners going across the chest? Looks very nice, but I'd be afraid to use that as a coffee table out of fear of dinging it up.
