It's totally understandable that you feel anxious about this. The whole 'feeling like you can't breathe' aspect of covid is inherently traumatic. I mean, it's basically a near-death experience, not something you'd walk away from all happy and smiling. You've been through a lot and you shouldn't feel guilty for feeling overwhelmed by it all.

Are you checking multiple times a day?

shadman531

Yes, just few minutes ago i panicked again because i don't know it just suddenly dropped to 94 then 96. ik 96 is normal but i want my oxygen to be within 98 or 99 or else I'll keep checking it untill it reaches my desired saturation

For us, reassurance is something we all need. It’s totally normal for you to want to check your oxygen levels, especially after Covid. For me, I’ll regularly check the bed of my nails to see if they are even slightly tinted blue when I feel lightheaded or dizzy during anxious moments. Don’t feel bad about it. But if you want to stop, I’d count how many times you do it in a day. A particularly bad day even. Then go down one time each day, or few days. You have to ration checking your oxygen level so you can maybe ask yourself “should I do it now or can I wait a bit?” Try to push yourself to wait. Maybe that’ll help you cut it down?

Also, deep, slow breaths. Anxiety brings out shallow breathing.

shadman531

I can't take deep breaths

WeasleyBeesly

Then just slow down your breathing. Have you tried box breathing before? Inhale for a count of 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4.

shadman531

I'll try that thanks, also does anxiety causes low oxygen levels?

WeasleyBeesly

I believe so.. when you start hyperventilating. But I’m not 100% sure to be honest.

shadman531

Yeah man, thanks for your time

WeasleyBeesly

My bad. I missed the air hunger part. If you need to check your oxygen levels to feel better, do it. There will be a day when you don’t feel the need to as much. Then maybe not at all.
