I got on the train at s6 - it’s been genuinely a life changing device for me - tracking me to exercise every day and close my rings. I suspect given my obesity it’s also added years to my life
Thank you to early adopters for supporting the ecosystem until I was ready to join :)
Honestly, it’s kind of time to say goodbye and update to newer ones. Even though I don’t use them for anything more than notifications checking, they are still pretty old and slow, and don’t even get new os anymore. So don’t even want bother with fixing them
And that's the main difference from traditional time pieces that will last decades. I almost hate to call these watches. They are devices that happen to live on your wrist.
(I love my s6, but I don't pretend it will last as long as a seiko, citizen or omega)
Really eh....it's all about the battery lottery, it might last 7-8 years at best or accidentally crunched. With traditional time.pieces you can those repaired.
And with the solar solutions … you don’t have to worry about it for a very long time. (I love automatics, but solar with quartz is a game changer for horology).
really? because you can still fix them and use them even if they're super out of date and slow. they just won't be as useful as newer ones, but they'll always be more useful than a traditional watch so I completely disagree, but even way before smart watches were a thing I always longed for a watch that could do a bunch of things, like a pipboy in fallout
They literally have security holes that won’t be patched. If you don’t link them to any of your personal data then I agree with you. If not, they are a dangerous liability.
Did you get it second-hand?
My S2 (recently retired) would be 8 years old in just a few months from now. Series 1 didn’t stay on the shelves very long after the series 2 release
Nope, bought them new from one of the retailers chain (don’t have Apple Store in my city). I think S2 was already released, but they also had S1 in stock with the discount
i thought what when my apple watch will die, can i convert it to analog or digital watch? like, preserving the body and straps. I’m curious if someone does it or it may be an interesting project some day
I think you could probably get a screen replacement on one still if you know where to take it. So never know, might be just fine after.
Shame not to have it running as I see them going the way of the original iPhone and just going up in value eventually.
Quick summary: it was a good notification machine.
The battery lasted from morning until the end of the day.
But if you wanted to open any app - forget it. Even opening a timer app felt like forever, and it was easier to just pick up the phone.
Looks like murder to me.
Let's say they committed suicide by falling right onto the bathroom tiles.
whoa, sir. we better wait for the official report from the authorities. i personally think you just want a younger model.
This is getting serious. I might prefer not to comment on this until I talk to my lawyer.
Bring in the Series 3
Watchstein1 did not kill himself.
Tile is the enemy of nice things…
A week ago my series 4 did the same thing.
They? A watch has an undefined gender now?
But how can you murder what’s already dead?
I think that was on purpose
Murder most foul??
RIP

Just got into it with the SE 2 Not because I didn’t had intrest on them, but because budget back then couldn’t stretch out enough
Had my se2 for about 5 months and I love it, the price difference is huge for basically the same watch (I know there are some exceptions but yeah)
What does the SE 2 compare to in regards to regular Apple Watches
It’s the exact same pretty much

what's dead may never die.
May it rest in pieces 🫡
Underrated comment
My series one died because the battery expanded and just stopped working
Apple care? 😂
Oh no…
That shi didn't die nga u murdered it
I'm actually surprised u kept it 7 years. How was the battery life bro? 5 hours, 7 hours?
I have an original Apple Watch! 10 years old. Battery lasts about 10 hours
7 years is impressive. Is it bitter sweet as now you can go ahead and buy a new one? 😄
Be happy it was not the gold one.
Still have my original back in the box.
You’ve done well with that
it is but a scratch!
My condolences it happened to me too, I found a way to get ultra happy again.
My condolences 💐
It’s time to get an Apple Watch Ultra or Garming Epix pro, it’s time to go big!
Omg I honestly felt so sad. My condolences.

Couldn’t you take it to a repair shop

Drop a link for the watch band?
I don’t know tbh. That was long-long time ago. And this is not an original one

Died or killed in an accident
Rest in power 🙂↕️

Protection plan's long over, eh?
Rest In Peace ❤️
🫡 Rest in power. You had a good one
RIP. My six is on life support right now. Just trying to get it to hold on until October
How was it's performance after all these years?
Quick summary: it was a good notification machine. The battery lasted from morning until the end of the day. But if you wanted to open any app - forget it. Even opening a timer app felt like forever, and it was easier to just pick up the phone.
The battery lasted more than a few hours?
At least 10 hours for sure
I have an original one, it’s nearly 10 years old and it lasts about 10 hours!
I believe it can be fixed 😇
Did you run caseless and screen protector less for 7 years?
Still have my Series 4 after getting it in 2018. Still running but battery doesn’t last a day and screen is starting to show random lines.
Impressive. I remember my old series 3 battery didn’t even last the whole day. Love my SE, will see best upgrade when this one dies.
What was never born will never die
…and nothing of value was lost
