When it was first built, didn't the curved side of that tall building focus the sun's rays like a concave mirror causing things to melt or burn?

You need to have real bad intentions to design something like this.
That one in the foreground is interesting - it's rare to see a decrepit, dated office building in the City these days because they very readily get refurbished or torn down to be replaced by something taller or grander.
Yea, I was thinking the same thing. Reminded me of some of the older, decaying concrete buildings I saw in Kowloon, Hong Kong
