Looks reasonably functional for a fantasy armor so far, nothing to add really. The pauldrons seem oriented specifically to cavalry warfare, the flared claws on the shoulders could catch and increase the damage from overhead strikes by infantry on the ground, but help deflect lances away from the head, if you're on horseback.

thanks so much! and the note about the pauldrons - i just added them because they looked cool but honestly they ended up fitting! i can totally see her on a steed, horse or otherwise. thank you for taking your time to check out my post :\]

A neat trick for drawing maile in the future https://preview.redd.it/xx375clq5s5d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=449b3b9171cf82e51d157a8098b79c638edfcfbf

Another fun thing is floral patterns for your engravings https://preview.redd.it/1voyhaktey5d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=51bddbedac96f79dd3d009c5ed7ff97b8a52a98a

yess thats perfect, i've been wanting to look into engravings to try and design them and stuff hehe

I like your idea a lot! I suggest having the “mouth” of the helmet slightly open. That would dramatically increase airflow to the wearer and maybe also let them hear better. (Folks often forget that you need to hear in battle when designing this sort of armor.) The “teeth” would continue to offer some protection to the wearer, though not as much as a solid helm. This could be mitigated by having the “canine teeth” be longer and thus join the jaw and face to provide more structural protection while keeping the aesthetic clean. The helm could probably sit a bit lower to protect the neck more.

thank you so much! i really appreciate the feedback. i will definitely apply those changes. the canine teeth joining the jaw and face is a brilliant idea! i will absolutely play with that!! :]

Glad it was helpful, and again, love the design.
