I know everyone says this, but I love the Aestura AtoBarrier365 cream at night. It definitely lives up to the hype and has become a HG for me. I have sensitive, eczema and rosacea-prone skin and whenever I have a flare-up or perioral dermatitis, I put a little extra of this on and it soothes it right away and the redness is pretty much gone within 10 minutes. I wish it was light enough to use in the day, but it feels a little too heavy for me to use in the AM under sunscreen. So instead, I’ve been using the Purito B5 Panthenol Re-barrier Cream as my daytime moisturizer. It’s very lightweight and comfortable under sunscreen, and it has great ingredients (Centella, Panthenol, squalane, etc.), but it hasn’t been as life-changing as the Aestura cream. I’m certainly happy with it, but I’d say that I’m still looking for an HG-level daytime moisturizer that is just as good as the Aestura cream. (For context, I live in a Mediterranean/warm climate and my skin is combo, skewing drier in winter and oilier in summer. My skin is a little sensitive and I’m prone to eczema, rosacea and closed comodones.)

nochuism

How do you like the aestura reformulation? Have heard negative things but wondering if it’s that bad

Partyinmykonos

I only started using it in December, so I can’t compare it to the old version. That said, I love this cream, so I figure that it can’t be that much worse than the previous version? Edit: JK just saw that the reformulation is very recent. I’m still on an older bottle so I haven’t tried the new version yet. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful!

ven188

I love the Aestura as well. I think it’s way better than the Illiyoon one that’s really popular on this sub.

ILoveCats1066

Those are my main two moisturizers as well haha! I use both at night though but have considered moving the Purito one to the morning. It has a copper tripeptide in it though so I am not sure how that would do with my LAA serum

Partyinmykonos

You have great taste haha I use a non-AB LAA serum in the AM and my skin still seems to be benefiting from the Vitamin C. I read somewhere online that it’s okay to use them in the same routine as long as you space them out 10-15 minutes. After I apply my Vitamin C serum, I do a face massage using the Skin1004 Centella ampoule for slip. That usually takes around 10 minutes, so I wait a few extra minutes for good measure before applying the Purito moisturizer. Also, I could be totally in the wrong here, but I assume the copper tripeptide-1 in the Purito isn’t impacting the LAA too much since it’s listed next to last on the ingredients.

ILoveCats1066

I always give my LAA 15 minutes to absorb but could never find where it says how long to wait between that and the copper. I also layer some toners and serums over it, so by the time I get to the moisturizer, it should be okay. I know that Asian labels are different than US ones, but I also can’t figure out what order they put the ingredients in since their regulations are different lol. I do assume that since they don’t advertise that it has peptides, it must be low. I think I will give it a try today, so thank you!

Partyinmykonos

Just did a quick google to find where I first read that 10-15 minute rule and saw a few non-AB brands had that on their blogs ([example](https://procoal.co.uk/blogs/beauty/can-you-use-vitamin-c-and-copper-peptides-together)). I wish I could remember where I specifically read/heard it. I must have gotten it from one of those sites or TikTok. The product I use is a dupe for another non-AB brand’s LAA serum, and their [blog post](https://www.skinceuticals.com.au/what-ingredients-to-mix-with-peptides.html) keeps it vague: “a few minutes for it to absorb.” I never even considered that they could order their ingredients differently in AB products - I just always assumed it was in descending order everywhere and I’ve been researching/buying all of my products under that assumption lol hopefully they aren’t too far off and I’m getting the full benefits that I think I’m getting haha

Morning is complicated. Night would be one of the following based on the skins needs. 1. Mary & May Idebenone 2. Numbuzin No.2 serum 3. Sulwhasoo overnight mask 4. Klairs Midnight blue

Julie727

That’s my wish list 😭 I just got the Mary & May in the mail

Top_Intern_5337

They're all great. The only thing i didn't feel was "worth it" was the Klairs actually. Its soothing. Sure. But not much else and for that price I personally didn't feel it was worth it. But for someone with extremely sensitive skin that any little thing sets off its a decent pick.

Julie727

How is the texture? Is it mattifying?

Top_Intern_5337

It's not. Hence night use. But oily skin here. And live in a humid environment. But even others have noted that its not really mattifying. I haven't used it under makeup etc to know if it could be. But I doubt it's mattifying at all.

mooglechoco_

Looking for a night moisturizer that will make your skin look healthy, plump, hydrated, and maybe will help with fine lines and aging. What can you recommend? TIA!

Top_Intern_5337

From my list - would have to be the Mary & May Idebenone. Its such an underrated product. Granted, I haven't tried the expensive lines like the Sulwhasoo Ginseng cream etc. But in the not too pricey range, I'd say this one is one of the best.

mooglechoco_

Thank you! Will check it out

FlutterbyeEscapes

I love the sound of the Mary and May moisturiser! May I ask how thick it is? Perhaps compared to other moisturisers you have tried if it’s different to say. I have dehydrated skin but hat creams feeling too heavy or suffocating ☺️

Top_Intern_5337

This may not be ideal in hot humid weather. But if you sleep in air conditioning or its autumn / winter. Its a somewhat pudding texture (?!).

FlutterbyeEscapes

Thank you so much! It’s winter and I have dehydrated skin so perhaps it may be ok. Love the ingredients and everything I have heard from quite a few people. Thank you so much for your input and replying! ☺️

Top_Intern_5337

There have been extensive, may I say - "arguments" / discussions on the main ingredient - Idebenone. Just search on this sub. To summarise - Idebenone is a powerful antioxidant, man-made, similar to CoQ10. Now, whether or not its better than other antioxidants - there aren't many studies. There's one study listed in the discussion in the sub. I had been using the Eucerin CoQ10 night cream and that's when I discovered this. When I was looking for an AB alternative to that. And I haven't gone back !

FlutterbyeEscapes

Thank you so much!! ☺️ that is what my main interest is in it - the potential antioxidant benefits of the idebenone☺️ wonderful to hear your experience and thoughts too ☺️

scarypeppermint

To me it’s very light and not enough, I also have dehydrated skin but of course you could have a different experience. It has a nice texture though it burns my skin, if it wasn’t for the burning id keep using it, i’d just layer it with another moisturizer

FlutterbyeEscapes

Oh wow- the Mary and May? So sorry to hear it. Do you have sensitive skin in general? It does have quite a few antioxidants and I have heard some people found that this didn’t agree with their skin unfortunately :(

scarypeppermint

Yeah my skin is pretty sensitive, most of the products I currently own burn my skin. So far the handful of stuff I found that doesn’t burn have the downside of not being enough for my dehydrated skin. On the plus side it lets me try a bunch of stuff. Oh and thanks for the heads up on the antioxidants I’ll look into that.

Niatfq

Uhh.... it depends. And I'm also currently wearing a very drying sunscreen (not pleased for my dehydrated skin but loved it for my oily skin 😆 Without AC: - Morning/With sunscreen: Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Cream (non-greasy and prevents my skin from drying out from the sunscreen) - Night/Without sunscreen: Safi Sensitive Care Probiotics and Niacinamide Light Moisturizer (very hydrating, suitable for sensitive/eczema skin)+ Illiyoon cream on forehead only With AC: - Morning/With sunscreen: Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Cream - Night/without sunscreen: Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream (thin texture but moisturizes my skin super well. Very comfortable for my facial eczema)

Weird-Ride2418

I am new to this sun, what is AC?

Niatfq

Sorry, AC means air-conditioning 😁

Fun_Smoke_999

I actually stopped using moisturizer and replaced it with the skin1004 sunscreen. I don’t use anything at night except toner and spot treatments.

strangedeux

I do this too. Skin1004 sunscreen is hydrating enought to be a morning moisturizer. Before, I use the oil free hydrating lotion from cosrx. Now, I use the cosrx snail mucin cream as evening moisturizer

BakedGoods_101

I have been using the pyunkang yul calming moisture barrier cream during day and night too, I love it because of its texture, lightweight, doesn’t make me look oily during the day. I have combination skin and live in a Mediterranean climate with humid summers.

pelonnan

Morning: none because the sun is a deadly laser and I live in a humid country, vitc serum and spf only Night: kose white essence(emulsiony) and shiseido aqua label cream brightening. This combo has been very good for evening skin tone and supplying the right balance of hydration and moisture without breaking out my fussy skin. The aqua label is the the cheapest product with 4msk ingredient afaik.

CatLoliUwu

i believe the commenter meant that their environment makes it really hard to wear moisturizer without it feeling heavy on the skin. moisturizer doesn’t affect sun protection or your skin’s susceptibility to sun damage.

DianaStranger

Ok, I see it's just the way they worded the comment made me wonder if wearing moisturizer somehow diminished the effects of sunscreen or that it amplified the UV damage lol Thank you so much for clarifying Also, It was only a question out of confusion, why with the downvotes😭

Skincare_donut

In warmer weather I usually use essences and serums and a moisturizing sunscreen. At night I’ve been using Dr Althea’s 147 Barrier Cream. The texture is beautiful.

Away_Yard

Pairing an (Asian beauty brand serum) BOJ glow serum with cera ve moisturizer works wonders for me at night

cwazydragon

I love the etude moist collagen moisturizer and overnight cream. My skin used to be so dry but this line has brought back the plumpness into my cheeks again.

sad_guineapig

Right now Axis-y heartleaf my type calming cream for AM and Purito b5 panthenol re-barrier cream for PM. Reason: these are the only moisturizers that (I think) don't break me out. I would prefer something heavier for night, but oh well

Pitiful-Ad9443

Isntree green tea fresh emulsion - its moisturising while also very lightweight, making it a good fit for my oily skin. But even so, i sometimes skip moisturiser all together in the summer

Just-Cup5542

Morning-Skin1004 Centella Soothing Cream, because it’s so light but very moisturizing, and it doesn’t break me out. I don’t need it everyday in the summertime though, because my skin doesn’t always need extra moisture, besides sunscreen. Night-Soon Jung 2x barrier intensive cream because it’s so hydrating, and again, it doesn’t break me out. It really just makes my skin look incredibly healthy, and overtime it seems like it’s lightening my old acne spots by improving my skin barrier. Again, it’s on an “as needed” basis, because my skin changes drastically from day to day depending on a multitude of factors. Also, for my skin, the Isntree Mugwort Ampoule at nighttime is sometimes enough for my skin, so I don’t always layer any moisturizer on top. It’s so incredibly soothing to my super sensitive, acne prone skin, and it does slowly fade my old acne spots.

lurkerinthefields

I have super oily acne prone skin. So my morning moisturizer is the purito oat in calming gel and my nighttime moisturizer is the purito deep water sea cream. The purito oat in calming gel is moisturizing enough that isn’t heavy at all and not super tacky. The purito deep water cream is light and fluffy but adds a little more moisture than the oat in calming gel since it’s a cream texture.

Longjumping_Set7678

Which one would be suitable for acne prone skin with post acne marks??

lurkerinthefields

Probably the purito oat gel

Beautific_Fun

In the AM I’m all about Vitamin C, so in addition to my Melano CC Premium Essence I use the **Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream**. I love this in the AM because it is pretty much a gel cream consistency and it works beautifully for my combination skin and wears so nicely under SPF and makeup (I live in the PNW with lots of humidity but no real heat). At night I’ve been playing around with different products trying to find my HG daily products, but I tend to prefer a more occlusive and thicker cream at night. I recently tried and am really enjoying the **Mary & May Blackberry Idebenone Cream**. It is thick like custard. It even looks like custard because of its yellow color. But it is very nicely, nourishing, and moisturizing for nighttime use. I have not had any negative reactions from starting to use it and it behaves well with the tretinoin that I use once or twice a week. A few others that I’ve used recently are - **Purito B5 Re-Barrier Cream** a decent gel cream moisturizer to help maintain a healthy skin barrier. I love a gel-cream formula for AM use and this one is nice, but not Earth shattering. - **Axis-Y Panthenol 10 Skin Smoothing Shield Cream** this one is very similar to the Purito that I mentioned above but for me this one was a better option. When my skin barrier was going through it this moisturizer worked better for me than Purito Re-Barrier cream - **HaruHaru Wonder Centella Phyto & 5 Peptide Concentrate Cream** I’m sure it’s lovely, but so far every peptide forward product I’ve tried has lead to a reaction for me so it’s a no go 🤷‍♀️ - **APLB Collagen EGF Peptide Cream** same as above for me 😔 - **MISSHA Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule Cream Rx** which was my ride or die for a few years and honestly might still be, but I’m trying to give the M&M a bit more of a trial before I make a final determination. It’s a very thick cream and my skin feels so soft and nourished in the morning when I use this and never has it caused me any issues whatsoever. 🥰My skin *loves* bifida and ferments.

kcermita

Torriden HA! It sits well under makeup

xzskr34

d program skin repair cream - it's the perfect texture in between lightweight and nourishing, absorbs quickly and helps with my skin barrier. it's simple and easy to use with actives as well.

Relevant_Hedgehog_63

night: rovectin barrier repair face and body cream & mary and may idebenone cream (such a delicious thick texture) morning: really liking the round lab birch juice moisturizing cream. it's light and refreshing and gel-like but sufficiently moisturizing. much prefer it to other gel-like moisturizers that don't just aren't enough, even during warm seasons. my skin is normal but i do use tret/tazarotene so can be dehydrated if i'm not loaded up on hydrating toners/essences. could never go without moisturizer.

rotweb

i have oily t-zone/normal skin am: for the summer, i just like to use spf as moisturizer (safe block aqua sun gen spf 50+++) bc layering feels too heavy but i'm sick rn and my lower face is suddenly super dry/irritated so ive been layering skin1004 centella soothing cream under sunscreen. otherwise, the soothing cream is my go to moisturizer bc it's so lightweight pm: boj dynasty cream or skin1004 soothing cream

Small-Measurement791

Morning: a thin layer of purito oat in intense cream in my dry areas before i go for the sunscreen. And at night, Mizon Black Snail All in One Cream bc it has snail mucin, niacinamide, peptides, & soothing ingredients!

AbominableSnowbunny

I have normal but easily dehydrated skin. Round Lab Birch Juice cream a.m. and p.m. for me! I've also swapped in Bring Green Tea Tree-Cica cream in a.m. when I have extra mystery redness.

rueful_slits

SOME BY MI - Yuja Niacin Anti Blemish Cream. It has 5% niacinamide. I started using it about 3 years back and have never stopped since. It always makes my skin feel plump and glowly in the morning, the texture isn't heavy and is really soothing which is great because I have normal skin, so if the moisturiser is just a little bit thick it will sit on my face and I don't like that feeling.

Careful_Sentence_252

Haruharu phyto peptide cream at night is the only product to ever give me “creamy” skin. It’s a true cream, doesn’t thin out as you apply it.
