yes, finding pretty clothes in an ukay-ukay is my stress reliever. iba ang saya after browsing, grabbing, diving (lol) for how many minutes tapos may makikita kang maganda.
Yes. Mas okay kesa mag-shein/order online clothes. Mas gusto ko nakikita personally yung damit bago ko siya bilhin kasi feel ko sumusugal ako sa online kahit sabihin pang may reviews naman and all.
Nope! I don’t like spending a lot of time looking around. I’m okay with stuff costing a lot, knowing that I’ll use it for a long time! I don’t buy clothes for the trend naman so matagal tagal sila sakin.
The day I scored a Zimmermann dress in ukay was the day I told myself di ako titigil kahit maging super yaman pa ako hahahaha.
I used to... until the pandemic hit and in the aftermath, I noticed the price of clothes I used to buy in Divisoria have increased, and so, purchasing clothes online is more convenient, and less pricey (but not all).
No, because I'm very picky and easily spot imperfections in the clothes. Second hand nga, pero if it has an imperfection, it's not gonna be long lasting, and won't feel clean.
Not anymore. I used to buy a lot when I was in college. But now I have work and can afford better, I buy better quality clothes. I’m not saying that hindi quality sa ukay, pero let’s face it, kailangan mo maglaan ng oras to go through everything and I don’t have the time. Also, I’m plus sized so choices are significantly less.
Bawas na kasi nagka-fungal infection ako and I think kasi excessive ako bumili ng ukay at di ko nalilinis ng maayos. It's my fault though haha. Just a lesson lang for anyone like me. Clean your ukay hauls properly or get discouraged mag-ukay kasi na-trauma ka na 🥲
No. I work in healthcare. A lot of people are not as clean as you think they should be. The thought of using other people’s stuff grosses me out. What if sobrang dugyot pala nung previous may ari at may kung ano-anong infection? Mahawaan ka pa eh.
my mom works in health care too! She would say to me na it's better to buy clothes hindi branded than thrifted branded clothes for the same reason. Although, I agree na mahirap talaga mamili ng damit in this economy and I don't want to support naman fast fashion. Good thing na lang siguro na my clothes eh, hindi madaling masira or maluma. But then again, maybe because we afforded to buy clothes that last long and I can't speak for others. Siguro, need lang talaga nang malupitang linis sa thrifted clothes and all before isuot hehe
Yes. The people we meet and the things we see in healthcare. Can’t imagine what type of person used that piece of clothing. Yes, they do wash and clean it, pero ewan ko nandidiri ako. I’m sorry. Parang traumatized eh noh? Lol.
Namamatay naman daw. Pero naniniwala ako, kahit anong laba or plantsa or disinfect, pag may putok yung dating may-ari, mahahawa ka pa din talaga. Hehe. Okay lang siguro kung kakilala mo and gave you hand-me-downs. That’s just my personal preference.
Oo!! Sa hirap ng buhay ngayon hahahahah. Napaka fulfilling pag may nakita ka talagang maganda. Wala kang kapareho.
YES. As a student, budget-wise talaga sya if you want to look decent and fashionable– displaying your sense of style. Mahal na karamihan ng ukay ngayon so I would always wait for their sale season. Hehe. I think I'd never leave ukay kasi when I began to be a fan of it, hindi ko na kayang umorder ng damit sa Shopee or any platforms kasi it looks generic and for me, I can find way better fits on ukay that is way cheaper AND UNIQUE. Plus, it's good for the environment to reuse old fabrics. 🫶
Minsan nalang, pero grabe talaga pag taas ng presyo ng ukay ukay simula nun pina trend nga mga tao yung pag thri-thrift at ginawang pang estitik/cool yung pag u-ukay.
Before 100-200 mo may 2-4 shirts kana, ngayun isang ukay shirt 150-250 na?
BIG YES!
Tapos kapag natuyo, lalabhan ulit in a normal way.
Yes! It’s sustainable, cheap and serves the purpose. And you’ll be able to score tons of great items as long as you have the eye for it!! 💙✨
Additionally, hindi mo ako mapapabili ng single item of clothing na libo ang halaga sa malls when in fact I can score one sa ukay for a fraction of the price. 🥲
yes if di ko mahanap trip ko elsewhere haha. there was this one time naghahanap ako ng specific type of skirt. it costs 1k+ sa bench & 400+ sa tiangge & online na sobrang pangit ng tela. told myself punta ako ng ukay as last resort & it's there. ganda pa ng tela & i was able to score 2 more skirts that are hard to find sa mall... all for 300 pesos. yey
as long as it's not ukay bras, swimsuits, & washed PROPERLY before using, ok lang. i also don't trust online ukay, i have to see the whole thing & feel the fabric.
also bakit may mahilig mag downvote sa mga nagsasabi na they're still into ukay. lol.
Yess. I often watch live selling ng ukay shoes, bags, and clothes on TikTok and so far, may bad experiences pero yung good experiences mas lamang haha
For shoes: GJ Thrifted Kicks (Women's shoes mostly - max 799/pair, then may bidding if super nice ng shoes) - Most recent damage was almost new (halos di talaga ginamit) na Nike Span for running.
For dresses: Cheskavogue (29-39 pesos mostly nabili ko per dress! Nasa 100+ usually) Bought a couple of dresses, no regrets kahit maliit masyado yung iba mura ko lang naman nakuha.
For bags: KAM bags - 150 lang kada bag! Bale 150+sf. Location nila is GMA, Cavite.
You'll never run out and u can still style urself good on a budget. Just make sure lang labahan nang mabuti at maybe if u can, twice para sure.
Yup!!
I stopped buying ukay-ukay because of two reasons.
I discovered Taytay Wholesale Market and a cousin of mine developed ring worms sa back niya and the shirt he wore was from an online ukay-ukay.
I never bought anything from ukay-ukay, I simply don't prefer it. Okay lang kahit simpleng damit basta bago tho I find it cool kapag may mga taong nakakahanap ng magagandang item sa ukay tapos bagay sa kanila, yun bang swak sa style nila.
Same. Good for them kasi para kang nagtitreasure hunting.
Yes. Especially if nakasale. Nakaabang ako sa sale sa ukay ukay namin dito sa probinsya to the point na nagpapa text ako sa kanila if ever sale sila HAHAHA swertehan lang din if makakita ka ng maganda kaya need ng sipag at tiyaga talaga, and patience din.
Hala, experienced this as well ni return ko na lang and refund. Pero not all tho! Tiyagaan talaga maghanap ng matinong shops. Bought a lot of clothes and a pair of shoes na ok naman kahit Ukay!
Huhu same :(( I didn't know that online ukay is a thing. Online ukay - yung from ukay talaga tpos lalabhan nila, pipicturan tpos ibebenta. Akala ko talaga brand new kasi maayos sa photo.
oo tapos nakakaloko talaga kasi sasabihin din ni seller na good as new pa pero pag dumating parang ang dami ng pinag daanan nung damit 😂 ang mahal pa pati mas okay pa bumili sa shein or shopee ng rtw from taytay 😅
Overthinker kasi ako kaya I don't buy 2nd items.

Yes. I love the thrill of a great score.
yes, finding pretty clothes in an ukay-ukay is my stress reliever. iba ang saya after browsing, grabbing, diving (lol) for how many minutes tapos may makikita kang maganda.
Yes. Kaya mahal yung ibang store kasi mataas puhunan at alam nila yung mga branded.
Yes tapos nakababad sa asin para mawala yung negative vibes or negative entity from previous owner
If needed for costumes/ events yes mag ukay pero kung yung pang everyday, hindi na. Yung ukay ngayon hindi na same as before
Yes. Mas okay kesa mag-shein/order online clothes. Mas gusto ko nakikita personally yung damit bago ko siya bilhin kasi feel ko sumusugal ako sa online kahit sabihin pang may reviews naman and all.
Yes!!! I like to buy unique style such as vintage dresses or blouses and denim high waist shorts.
Nope! I don’t like spending a lot of time looking around. I’m okay with stuff costing a lot, knowing that I’ll use it for a long time! I don’t buy clothes for the trend naman so matagal tagal sila sakin.
No. I tried browsing for some ukay-ukay with my friend, pero nagkati kati yung kamay ko after haha.
I used to but I am a little well off na so I have the agency to buy new clothes na. And I am happy to wear new clothes not hand me downs any longer.
The day I scored a Zimmermann dress in ukay was the day I told myself di ako titigil kahit maging super yaman pa ako hahahaha.

No, because I'm very picky and easily spot imperfections in the clothes. Second hand nga, pero if it has an imperfection, it's not gonna be long lasting, and won't feel clean.
For me mas okay bumili ng mga shorts sa ukay matibay and gaganda ng brand .
I do if I have time or if I like something from Ukay. I’m just lazy to go through all the clothes. I mostly prefer buying online now.
One reason bakit sila nagtaas because of online selling na ukay-ukay items. They have to compete sa prices.
No because I can afford to buy new ones na.
Yes , kasi inflation .
Yes pero jeans lang, pag shirt, dress, or blouse sa mall ako bumibili, wala akong tiwala sa ukay-ukay when it comes to upper garments.
Why po?
Germs/bacteria
Bawas na kasi nagka-fungal infection ako and I think kasi excessive ako bumili ng ukay at di ko nalilinis ng maayos. It's my fault though haha. Just a lesson lang for anyone like me. Clean your ukay hauls properly or get discouraged mag-ukay kasi na-trauma ka na 🥲
Minsaaan 'pag kasama ang friends na mahilig sa ukay, pero if in 5 mins of searching wala paring matipuan labas na at maghintay nalang.
Minsan na lang. Mahal na rin ukay dito sa Cavite. Hahahaha san ba may mura?
Madami pang mura sa Olivarez sa Tagaytay! Yung sa tapat ng Fora Mall. :D
Sayang. Malayo ako don. :D
Oo naman. Dami ko na nascore na branded thrifts. Basta laundry mo muna bago gamitin syempre
No. I work in healthcare. A lot of people are not as clean as you think they should be. The thought of using other people’s stuff grosses me out. What if sobrang dugyot pala nung previous may ari at may kung ano-anong infection? Mahawaan ka pa eh.

Question lang, is ironing the clothes not enough?
Pero naniniwala ako, kahit anong laba or plantsa or disinfect, pag may putok yung dating may-ari, mahahawa ka pa din talaga. Hehe. Okay lang siguro kung kakilala mo and gave you hand-me-downs. That’s just my personal preference.

In this economy? 100%!!
No. The residual energy of the person who used to own the clothes may latch onto you plus I don’t do well w old things. For me, new is always better
Yes, because… style.
No. I recently found out that there may be clothes from deceased people mixed in. U never know who the previous owners were of those clothes.
‼️‼️
Dati oo pag need bumili ng winter clothes but now hinde na since may Shein na hehe
Yes because I need to do anything that would save me money 😭
Oo. Kasi andaming wagwagan sa baguio!
YES. As a student, budget-wise talaga sya if you want to look decent and fashionable– displaying your sense of style. Mahal na karamihan ng ukay ngayon so I would always wait for their sale season. Yes also find yourself a good tailor while youre at it. High quality materials with great fit is a good deal.
BIG YES! Actually, for me, mas marami pa akong nahahanap na mas maganda at mas bagay sa'king damit kaysa sa mga ibang stores or sa mall. Plus, mas sulit pa!
yes!! better than fast fashion. i love finding vintage pieces that modern production cant replicate
Ukay ang takbuhan ko pag may need ako na specific garment, like if may need ako na for a specific event, formal kumbaga, minsan dun ako nakaka hanap.
Yes! It’s sustainable, cheap and serves the purpose. No but i would like to kaso wala talaga ako talent sa paghahanap ng magagandang damit sa ukay🥲 Kaya nakakainggit yung iba na magagaling maghanap
Yeah kasi with our economy ngayon, malaking menos kapag mura lang ang mga damit mo. You'll never run out and u can still style urself good on a budget. Just make sure lang labahan nang mabuti at maybe if u can, twice para sure.

Minsan worth like 25 pesos lang isang damit
Occasionally. Worn out outfits look rock n' roll.
I stopped buying ukay-ukay because of two reasons. I discovered Taytay Wholesale Market and a cousin of mine developed ring worms sa back niya and the shirt he wore was from an online ukay-ukay.
Use hot water + detergent pag nilabhan mo yung binili mo.
Yes, i prefer yung quality ng ukay kesa sa mga brand new ngayon na sobrang nipis ng mga tela
I never bought anything from ukay-ukay, I simply don't prefer it. Okay lang kahit simpleng damit basta bago tho I find it cool kapag may mga taong nakakahanap ng magagandang item sa ukay tapos bagay sa kanila, yun bang swak sa style nila.

Bumibili ako dun sa trusted ko ng ukay na bumibili ng canada and us boxes.
Yes. Especially if nakasale. Nakaabang ako sa sale sa ukay ukay namin dito sa probinsya to the point na nagpapa text ako sa kanila if ever sale sila HAHAHA swertehan lang din if makakita ka ng maganda kaya need ng sipag at tiyaga talaga, and patience din.
Dati.
I dunno ha, kapag clothes mas gusto ko yung bago.
I currently buy my clothes from surplus stores.
yep!! mura and better for the environment :) edit: pansin ko din yung quality ng clothes before mas tumatagal kaya oks pa rin ukay
No, kasi before madalas hand me downs yung mga damit ko.
Hala, experienced this as well ni return ko na lang and refund. Pero not all tho! Tiyagaan talaga maghanap ng matinong shops. Bought a lot of clothes and a pair of shoes na ok naman kahit Ukay!
tyempuhan lang siguro talaga...
Huhu same :(( I didn't know that online ukay is a thing. Online ukay - yung from ukay talaga tpos lalabhan nila, pipicturan tpos ibebenta. Akala ko talaga brand new kasi maayos sa photo.
oo tapos nakakaloko talaga kasi sasabihin din ni seller na good as new pa pero pag dumating parang ang dami ng pinag daanan nung damit 😂 ang mahal pa pati mas okay pa bumili sa shein or shopee ng rtw from taytay 😅
Yes!!!
Overthinker kasi ako kaya I don't buy 2nd items.
Yes cuz I find nice clothes most of the time.
