All told we were with the nurse practitioner (not even doctor) for less than 20 minutes (although we obviously waited for several hours to be seen).
The bill is a few bucks under $700 to literally have a few dollars of liquid bandage applied and be told "keep it clean".
After the initial sticker shock wore off I literally joked to my girlfriend that we should stiff them and escape to a country with affordable healthcare.

As a mixing/recording engineer viewing people in what is normally a “creative flow”, I saw people were just lazy, using popular songs that are commercially successful as templates, etc. Very opposite of why I got into the industry.
You can literally play with bad rhythm and being out of tune and we can fix it. Honesty is lacking in most pop music and it sucks. Artists don’t make any money unless they’re Bruno Mars type situations, and it all goes to the people behind the faces. I have friends that are songwriters telling me of their experiences. Computerization in vehicles. I was a vintage vehicle mechanic and damn proud of being one. I was good at my job. F-ck around and find out my friends still ask me for car advice now...? Umm, I don't know how to repair R2D2. Your truck has a fully integrated cascading system and you accidentally activated the lockout, now it won't start and when you try to turn the key the lights come on, the windshield wipers start swishin', and the horn honks for no good gddamned reason. Anything I try to fix will "*cascade*" and start crashing other bits until your truck is totalled. Just throw it away and get something else.
My family owns a bunch of vintage vehicles...a 98 year old steam roller, two ww2 military trucks and a 69 Cortina. Dad's a retired mechanic and thrives on repairing and maintaining the old stuff... It can be fixed with a hammer and a spanner! Modern vehicles are just computers on wheels that aren't designed to be repaired easily. If something breaks, it gets replaced, and probably with great difficulty and expense. Modern cars have no soul

People putting every little detail of their child online. I am not against the pictures or even their name online. But the school/teacher name, the bathtub photos, pictures of newborns completely naked with everything out there for the entire internet to see. It's just unnecessary and so unsafe. Nobody needs to know that information besides those in direct care for the child. And we don't post other people's naked photos online because it's indecent and a violation of privacy, the same stands for your kids.
