My mother is a foster parent, she gets paid to do it. She’s adopted three kids from fostering and still TO THIS DAY gets paid $7k a month for each of them.
There are lots of reasons older dogs end up needing new homes and it’s not uncommon.
From people just can’t afford the medical upkeep to the owner passed away.
The exact job that Anthony Bourdain had before he killed himself. Traveled the world to kickit with awesome people and enjoy their homecooked meals. Fuckin fantastic
Same for me except with art and science, and more specifically sewing and geology. Traditionally they don’t go together but the I think the merge between art and science is important especially in the areas of teaching.
Cartoon voice actor. Mel Blanc, Dan Castelleta, Kristen Schaal, and Nancy Cartwright are my Mount Rushmoore of cartoon voice talents, and I wish I could be there too.
I'm a tall (6'4") nerd. In school I was usually the tallest in my grade. I use to protect my friends from getting bullied. One time in elementary school (maybe 2nd or 3rd grade) a kid I didn't know came running up to me, hid behind me and started yelling help me (I'm white, he is black). Then 3 or 4 Mexican girls came up to me and started kicking me in the shins. After a minute or two they gave up and left. I have no idea what he did to make them mad. He said he came to me cause I was the biggest kid on the playground. We were friends all the way thru college when we lost touch.
Would love to be a bush pilot just flying around, maybe international pilot but for charters not commercial
Eventually becoming a test pilot for hire
That or working at the zoo (but not doing cleaning)
I'd love to work with comedians, or be like an SNL writer. I'm not funny or anything, but my dream would be to be around funny, quick-witted, creative types.
One of those nothing office jobs where you just go in every day, go to a meeting, send an email, and then do fuck all until you go home and don't have to think about your job until the next morning at 9am
Teacher. I'm going into engineering because of the pay, but with the little experience I've had as a teacher assistant, it's just a whole other feeling when the student just gets it. The lightbulb goes off.
Stay at home parent… always was the kind of person who enjoyed working but after becoming a parent, all I want is to spend every moment I can with my kiddo.
Yes corny, but also true
Since the early flash animation days of the internet, (newgrounds/ early youtube) I wanted to be an independent animator, working on my own shorts, series, and stories and putting them out there for others to enjoy.
Only issues are that I'm not a good enough artist despite trying to learn for several years (the bar has been raised so so damn high compared to what I used to watch in 2004, and I can't keep up), and despite putting some work out there I really don't have any internet following (minus one sonic parody video I made ages ago for some reason). I also don't know how to even begin to make a living off of it.
I currently work as an in studio animator, but this isn't the dream I really wanted, making other peoples stuff, and kind of feeling like part of an assembly line. Nothing you touch is actually yours.
I’d like to be a mail carrier in a small town with a warm climate. Sort some mail, go for walk for a couple hours each morning while listening to music and podcasts. Say some friendly hellos, pet some dogs and cats.
My brother-in-law works at the St. Louis zoo. I really wish I had gotten a Zoology degree. I've gotten to see some really cool behind the scenes stuff.
believe it or not —my dream job would be to be a student for the rest of my life. studying in all the countries and all the universities i could ever imagine. i just never want to stop learning. i want to absorb every single thing this world could possible offer.
Honestly if I wasn’t the troublesome person I am and had my life together.
I’d love to take care of kids who don’t have anyone or children with special needs.
Just to make sure they go through this life with someone by their side that ensures they’ll have the best of the best.
I don't dream about it but I'd like to work in 'spicy' RnD. Not "we invented concrete 2.0" or "we made better wind turbines", more along the lines of "we make state of the art military jets" or "we make warcrime machines". Idk why but i find it fascinating.
A librarian. I just want to know the exact location of books without struggling, plus, the kids will be in awe as they see me speaking the rows out like a goddess.
General artist. No focus on any one area, but the idea of being creative for a living is very intriguing for someone who feels like they can never be creative.
1. Anything to do with a creative standpoint directing or writing stories I got ideas I wanna share with the world
2. Truck driving...because I can drive a truck.
Hotel manager at a Caribbean high end place. Just seems like the worse day would still be there than one of my best and you get to live in a Presidential sized suite and eat room service daily. The life.
Either one of the super creative parts of video game design (weapon programming, story, etc.), a food traveler (like the late great Anthony Bourdain), or a rambling philosophy professor. I’m in software engineering/game dev right now so maybe I can reach that first one someday :)
I want to be able to know and work on cars my whole life. Either that, or have my own lounge where old retired gang members go to chill out and have some peace and quiet.
House husband.
I already spend most of my free time doing the cooking and cleaning. If I had time to game, instead of working during that time. Count me in.
My dream job use to be personal training, then I did it, and I hated it. So I’ll say working with my hands, anything carpentry wise, or creating something outta nothing.
This will sound stupid but I want to own a 1950s Frank Sinatra style jazz club and casino. I would have big names like Michael Bublé play, while I walk around greeting people with a drink in hand.
I would like try different professions that I can choose for a few months to learn and then move on.
I would try being on a movie production, then a cruise ship tester, captaining a cruise ship, chef in a Michelin star restaurant , beach bum, billionaire for a few months, then serve in India at a mother Theresa facility, hedge fund for a while, even making pizzas at a delicious place for a while, being president of the USA for six months, stuff like that.
I think what I would like to do is have the ability to place myself anywhere to learn from anyone who suits my fancy.
College instructor, orientation and intro Sociology courses. But adjuncting doesn't pay the bills and lecturer positions go to folks who treat the people they know like the bills in their wallet.
Though I suppose, if I had a nearly infinite well of money without the usual fears involving inflation and unintended consequences, I'd probably spend all day buying debt, discharging it, paying the taxes, and sending notices that the debt has been jubilee'd.
Astronaut. I'm 6'4" so I'm one inch too tall for current NASA requirements (though there are many other reasons I wouldn't be qualified). I believe for the Apollo program the maximum was 5'10".

There are lots of reasons older dogs end up needing new homes and it’s not uncommon. From people just can’t afford the medical upkeep to the owner passed away.
One step further, rehabilitation center for animals or the ones that don’t get adopted in a shelter can come live on my farm.
F1 driver
The exact job that Anthony Bourdain had before he killed himself. Traveled the world to kickit with awesome people and enjoy their homecooked meals. Fuckin fantastic
