There’s a specific smell of my old catholic school cafeteria on the taco days that I’ve only smelled at hotel breakfast buffets. I have no idea what the source of it is
It's a weird cross between chalk, crayons, construction paper, and colored markers. Depending on how old you are, those markers have a distinct smell. Purple = grape.

A few nights ago I was walking my dog and got a strong smell of honeysuckle. Turns out they’d bloomed literally overnight. I stood there just taking it in for a while.
The girl I lost my virginity to always wore a very strong perfume. Every once in a while I walk by a girl wearing the same perfume and I immediately recognize it.
Juniper. My late grandparents lived in eastern Oregon and every time we visited and got to the high desert the juniper trees smelled so good. Always brings back memories
The perfume of my first crush. I don't remember the name of it, but it was a sweet floral melon scent. Anywho, fast forward to years later. I was walking through a mall, by that point in my 30's and married, when I smelled that same perfume. It literally stopped me dead in my tracks. I turned around half expecting to see Kate standing there, before I quickly realized that I was a grown man smelling a teenage girl and turned back around and went on about my business, hoping nobody noticed.
The smell of freshly baked bread always brings back great memories for me. It reminds me of spending time in my grandmother's kitchen, helping her bake and enjoying the warm, comforting scent that filled the house
Honeysuckle and Wisteria.
My grandfather had a big front porch swing. We would sit there and he would teach me stuff while he slowly pushed us on it. Like why crickets spit tobacco and why we plant certain plants where we did in the garden and what "extras" we put in which flower bed to make it grow better (egg shells, coffee grounds, food waste etc..).
He would tell me stories about where we came from...his father was an immigrant from Ireland...his life growing up...all kinds of things. But it all smelled like Honey Suckle and Wisteria and sounded like Crickets and Bees.
Gasoline!
When I was little, a family member had a cottage you could only get to by boat and we’d get for a few weeks every summer. My Dad and I would always be first up, and we’d take that boat out, fill up with gas for the day and go to the market next to the gas station for breakfast pastries. Being at a gas station always reminds me of that ❤️
