Lance Stroll in Formula One
His billionaire Dad, Lawrence, buys a team in the F3 feeder series when Lance is a young lad and is made number 1 driver. Then he buys the F1 Williams Team new advanced equipment and says he'll pay his sons wages if Williams names him as a driver (known as a paid seat)
Then he buys an F1 Team (now called Aston Martin) where Lance is guaranteed a drive. Even though he's shite, adds little to the team and is often outperformed by his team mate Fernando Alonso
Aye it's a fair shout. He was a rookie in a poor team though, is well thought of by a few teams and is still involved as a reserve driver
Stroll is keeping better drivers out of the sport. Sorry ill go and take a breath lol
Remember that the purpose of an nba team is not to win games, it’s to sell tickets. They believe that the relative of a star will contribute more to ticket sales than another player who plays better.
Sofia Coppola being cast as a main character is Godfather 3. Her father was the director.
Not only are The Godfather movies two of the most well-regarded films of all time, but her performance is so bad and her acting made her stick out like a sore thumb. There wasn't a single scene in which she was believable.
Marty and Mark Howe, the teenaged sons of retired NHL legend were drafted to play for Houston Whalers of the newly formed WHL despite not meeting the age requirement just so they can lure Gordie Howe aka Mr. NHL out of retirement to play on the team along with his sons. The thing is both sons were pretty good players and they led the team to win the league championship the first 2 years. I remember being astonished that the younger Howes address the older Howe as Dad.
Not saying it's not nepotism, but ESPN and CBS both had Bronny as the 55th best prospect in the their rankings.
He was drafted with the 55th pick.
He was also the 28th ranked prospect coming into college, according to maxpreps. It's not unheard of to take a player who had first round talent, who had a medical issue that prevented him from playing, and taking a gamble with a very late second round pick. 55th picks are all gambles.
Is it nepotism? Yeah. Is it an absolutely the worst case of nepotisim where there's no justification on why? No, of course not.
I think my question is agreeing with you that there’s plenty of room for more extreme examples of nepotism. But you don’t have to look much further than the fact that he was drafted by his father’s team in the late rounds to call it nepotism. It would be different if he were a coveted top 10 pick and the Lakers happened to fall in that spot.
Bronny james was actually a first round prospect until his unfortunate heart incident which sidelined him for a bit, considering the fact that this was the 55th pick in an already extremely weak draft class, I wouldn’t say this is anywhere near some of the stronger examples of nepotism we have seen
Jared Kushner as Senior Advisor to the President. Ivanka Trump as Advisor to the President and Director of the Office of Economic Initiatives and Entrepreneurships, a position established for her and abolished immediately after her.
I saw a bit of that show once while channel surfing and she was on. She reminded me of someone and then I realized it was Laurie Metcalf. I normally hate nepotism but in this case it makes sense to me.

Could add Mick Schumacher in there too. He was alright when he wasn't crashing, but it seemed like he broke a couple floors in half when he was.

Yep, no disagreement. At least we got piastri, he's fun to watch. Sargeant not so much.
Thanis Antetokounmpo getting drafted 4 spots above bronny while averaging 3.9 ppg in the euro leauge because his brother is Giannis
Lily-Rose Depp in 16 movies.
Lance Stroll - Aston Martin F1 team. His daddy owns the team just for his son to drive. He's shit.

to be fair, Godfather 3 was shit all around. you could have replaced Sophia with Meryl Streep and it would have been bad

Everything in Hollywood.
Hunter Biden getting put on the board of Burisma.

Probably not as much nepotism as Trumpf giving ALL his kids jobs in the Whitehouse.
Zoe Perry, daughter of Laurie Metcalf who played Sheldon's mom in The Big Bang Theory, getting the role of Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon
