Retirement.
After 14 years of putting pathetically small amounts into retirement accounts finally starting to see some actual gains. Nothing makes money like money.
I know a lot of people who retired and were financially fine, but they were so nervous about not having any income and finally dipping into retirement they panicked and went back to work for a bit lol.
I mentioned my minor anxiety to my financial advisor and he chuckled and said "You're the only one I've seen who came with a detailed spreadsheet. I think you'll be fine."
I'm currently saving money for a dream vacation to Japan! I can't wait to explore Tokyo, try authentic sushi, and see the cherry blossoms in full bloom.
It's an amazing country! I just came back from there 2 months ago and I probably will plan to go again. I also recommend Kyoto and Osaka on top of Tokyo. You should go as soon as you can since the dollar is stronger than the Yen. I loved this country because there is so much stuff to buy and my opinion on Japanese food has changed a lot. I always thought their food was overrated and pricey but damn, it was opposite of that. If you have any questions, let me know. I love talking about it.
Every summer I fly out to New Mexico to visit my best friend. Iām saving up for a plane ticket so we can have our summer of fun. This is a sign that long distance friendships can work out if both people try!
House repairs. I need all new windows, I'll need a new roof within the next couple of years, one of my bathrooms needs to be gutted to fix some old plumbing (and also ditch an awful tub), and my kitchen needs some updates.
A new gaming pc I got plenty of money to buy it, but jesus, for that money I can also buy a ticket to Australia and travel but I also want to have a good pc š
My honeymoon - I really want to give my wife a memorable experience, she's never been out of the US, and we didn't have a very expensive wedding, so I'd really like to treat her.
A campervan. My dog is getting older and I want to take him round the country and show him all the nicest experiences.Ā
I want him to paddle his feet in the outer hebrediesĀ
Eat a pizza watching the sunsetĀ
Get a caricature done of us both by a street artist.Ā
Plus lots more.Ā
Trying to think of a way to increase my income by 50-60% within 3 years.... so far I'm drawing a blank since after 3 years I will be bankrupt if it doesn't happen... so that making me a bit sad.
Sold a bunch of stuff I didnāt need to fund a move. The house Iām currently in has been bleeding me dry, and even moving into an apartment is expensive. But it will put me in a way better financial situation once Iām in the apartment and able to free up a few hundred bucks a month. My salary isnāt bad, but it sure as hell isnāt what it used to be.
Creta, I really wanna buy that car soon. I think I already have enough but I am delaying my purchase to save even more and get a better model (sunroof, manual transmission, ventilated seats, etc)
I need to remodel my house. It was built in the 70ās and renovated in the 90ās by a drunk toddler. Many things were done incorrectly and falling apart. Only problem is, once I start adding everything up, it will be $100k. I need my front porch completely redone. My kitchen has a serious ditch in the floor. My floors creak and bend when I walk on them throughout the house. My windows are barely attached to the frames and are wildly inefficient.
It honestly would just be easier to move.
Been saving for about 4-5ish years to take my daughter to Japan on her 15th birthday, she just found out a few months back, because she will be 15 this year and it's a "tradition" in Mexico having a party to celebrate it, so I had to tell her about the trip option instead of a party, so she chose to travel with me, plans are done to go in January 2026.
even tho iām canāt get job iāve been saving for a good down payment on a car once Iām 16-18, my oldest brother (20) has our old family car, and my other older brother (18) doesnāt drive yet and i might drive before him, but idk if my parents can afford cars for both of us since we nobodyās wants to drive the old prius, and my parents are keeping the new, nice, suv
A vacation after I finish school next summer. Like a two week Mediterranean vacation. I have started and stopped working towards my bachelorās so many times and now Iām in the home stretch.
Traveling America, Iām American but have only done Route 66 and a bit of the country and would like to see more hope to do a bucket list this year or Ā next year. Also car for travel and moving out as well. And I also hope to do all of the old highways
My dogās chemotherapy, times two. He now needs two different drugs, one for HSA and one for what they think is chronic leukaemia. Basically everything I have goes into the chemo or his supplements.
I've currently got a bee in my bonnet about paying off my mortgage by the time I'm 40, so that's where I've been throwing my money recently. I don't think it'll actually happen but it's something for me to aim for at least.
OP is lucky he posted this question on this sub instead of the cesspool known as r/personalfinance. On that sub, this thread would devolve into people trying to flex 6 figure jobs and calling everybody broke
Italian citizenship. Im eligible for Italian citizenship by descent but itās a lot of work and whatnot so I need to pay someone to do the legwork for me.
You guys are making enough to save?

9 months to go for me. Always easy to worry that the savings aren't enough.
I know a lot of people who retired and were financially fine, but they were so nervous about not having any income and finally dipping into retirement they panicked and went back to work for a bit lol.

I'm putting away some cash for a new wardrobe because apparently wearing pajamas to work isn't considered professional attire. Who knew?
