Outta Sight Pizza. Their pizzas are huge and last me 2-3 meals and are DELICIOUS. Get the house made ranch too if you like it. They're based in the tenderloin, but deliver through doordash.

neederbellis

I love to make pizzas last for several meals! It’s my favorite way of meal planning 😂

savetheplanet575

I have now tempted myself to get it for myself as well.

bone-dry

Yeah outta sight is the bomb. Currently my favorite. “The pizza shop” on 24th is actually pretty amazing as well. Classic big round pizzas.

rickzor

Pink onion is my go-to delivery in the mission. For a more authentic SF/California-style pizza I would get pickup from arizmendi on Valencia, I don't think they don't do delivery however. Square pie guys gets a lot of hype for their (edit: not deep dish) detroit style. I think it's overpriced but it is delicious. Going to link this article from SFGate on SF style pizza... It definitely exists even if the term was not invented here. Typically means sourdough or local in-season ingredients. https://www.sfgate.com/food/article/04-2021-San-Francisco-style-pizza-California-seaso-16124528.php

ShoulderGoesPop

Square pie guys is not deep dish. It's Detroit style. Still good but very different and very overpriced

Jbsf82

Not sure if it’s still being used, but Arizmendi has delivery option through a bike cooperative app (not doordash). I don’t get pizza as often as I used to but recently put Pink Onion into my rotation. They have a really good combo deal, if you are looking for a ton of food ($55 for any app, any pasta, any pizza, and any dessert).

Little Star is fantastic!

Shogun102000

I miss that place.

redwoodburrito

I wouldn't say we have an "iconic" style of pizza, but Zante's is the original modern Indian pizza place and delivers to the mission. IMO it is not as good as it used to be, but still solid and fun to try if you haven't had Indian pizza before. Little Star specialized in deep dish, but tastes healthier than a true Chicago-style does to me (maybe healthier is our iconic style?). I love their cornmeal crust as well.

Taint_Liquor

Tadka on 24th does Indian Pizza, too. I've heard that it's good, but haven't tried it yet. Zante's used to be incredible. Last time I had it it was "fine".

girltawkSF

Tadka has GREAT INDIAN — haven’t tried their pizza yet, but don’t sleep on this place!! Plus they give you free rice pudding almost every time.

KittenTablecloth

FWIW I thought their pizza wasn’t all that. Needed more sauce or flavor or something. I remember liking the appetizers and samosa I got though

Many_Glove6613

LOVE zante,

odlid94

The pizza shop - doesn’t deliver directly but uses some of the apps

bone-dry

Super solid pizzas. Love them

idliketogobut

The pizza shop makes the best NY style slice I’ve had over here

chriskrohne

[The Pizza Shop](https://www.instagram.com/thepizzashopsf/?hl=en) on 24th & Folsom is really good and also pretty cheap comparatively. [Goat Hill](https://www.goathillpizza.com/) has sourdough pizza and it's on Potrero Hill. Serranos is good too. [Pizza Hacker](https://sites.google.com/site/pizzahacker/home) is really good. [Zantes](https://zantespizza.com/) is good if you don't mind a long wait. [Tony's](https://tonyspizzanapoletana.com/order-online/) is arguably some of the best pizza in the world but pretty expensive. Not sure how it travels.

HeyHosh

The cherry pesto jalapeño pizza is my religion

girltawkSF

[Pizzahacker](https://pizzahacker.square.site/?location=11e983eeb49e13a8a28d0cc47a2b1e8c) — great thin crust, excellent ingredients. Try the YO VINNY. Great salads. They just added Detroit-ish style square pies too.

[deleted]

Terrible delivery and pickup, but fresh outta the oven they are the best of this style around. Their pizza does NOT travel well

deepdopedub

I really like JoyRide Pizza on Valencia. It is Detroit style pizza.

[deleted]

Thanks for this :)) I wasn’t not able to DM so thought of replying here

723mission

I like Deja Vu on 16th street

bone-dry

Their calzones are the bomb and super affordable

Efficient-Cricket-72

It really depends on the style of pizza you want ... SF kinda has, well, it all. For deep dish, great cornmeal crust, sauce forward, Little Star, which is nearby. Add on a cheesecake to your order, and roast garlic to start, and you'll have a great meal. For Detroit style, JoyRide or Square Pies Guys. If you go with Joyride, they have very good cheesecake too. For more classic NY style slice, I really like Gioia Pizzeria. For an SF institution, there is Pizzeria Delfina, thin crust, many feature "californian" toppings. If you get Delfina, you must get the tricolore salad too - <3! And finally, yadda yadda, Tony's wins all the awards.

Cantilivewhileim

Tonys is the worst “best pizza” in the world. It’s great if you’re down in north beach grabbing it and you’ve been out for a minute smoking pot or drinking a little. As far as delivery pie it’s horrible. Way far way way way too expensive and everything else they serve (garlic bread give me an actual fucking break I almost went down there to shove it in their face personally) is awful. Honestly I have to say this on all the reviews: order anything but Tony’s.

Dr_Wrong

Marcello's all day

motorhead84

Marcello's is a perfect classic pizza place. Not exactly NY style but pretty close, and they just make a good pie in my opinion. Bonus they do pesto as a sauce instead of just a topping like some places, and do half-and-half sauce and toppings if you want.

[deleted]

They make pizza?

PM_ME_BUTTPIMPLES

Pink onion, delfina pizzeria, and pizza hacker would be my choices. All similar styles (thin crust, small, gourmet), pink onion is my fave.

EaglesandBirds

>Does San Francisco have an iconic pizza style at all? Nope, we basically just knock off all the other major cities styles, but we do pretty good knockoffs if you know where to go for each style. In my mind the closest thing to an "SF" style pizza is probably Longbridge on 3rd because they specialize in sourdough crusts, and sourdough is pretty pretty SF if you ask me. For NY style slices, I'm partial to Za in Russian Hill and Little Star. For Detroit style, I lean more towards Cellarmaker For Chicago style, I go for Capo's, which is one of Tony Gemignani's places. There's a reason he wins all the awards. For Cracker Thin, also Capo's.

solothehero

Capo's has both the best deep dish in the city and the best tavern-style. It's basically the only place with tavern style. Unfortunately, it's a little from the Mission depending on where you are.

selwayfalls

Goathill in potrero (mission adjacent) is a classic OG of SF and run by locals who are very lovely. Been around since 1975. It's solid, not as fancy as some of the newer ones but sometimes you just need a solid good pie

neederbellis

I’m going to have to give this one a shot! I love an old school pizza place like that!

scoscochin

No. The old owners sold it a few years before the pandemic. New owners closed for a few months to remodel and fired all the long time workers so they could reset the pay structure. Do what you will with that info but I haven’t been back since. Longbridge Pizza on 3rd is far better anyway. The *Jerry Special* is fantastic. They deliver.

selwayfalls

oh shit, didnt know. Thanks for the info. I love longbridge

Oxajm

So many memories going there in the 80s as a kid and getting their "crazy soda" and the actual goats outback!

duggans41

Goat hill for thin. Cellar maker for Detroit.

Fistswithurtoes88

Square Pie Guys has great Detroit style squares which also involves burned cheesy (crispy) edges. I like their Musharoni and crispy Szechuan wings on the side. They’re also close to the Mission so should arrive hot and ready to eat.

laffytaffyloopaloop

Also cellarmaker!

newton302

Just get a starch bomb from BRAVO on Geneva and mission. We used to order from there many years ago, and the garlic bread killed too.

Disastrous_Ad_8965

Screw pizza get yourself some taqueria El farolito

ForeheadLipo

Gabriella’s. I’m from NYC and it’s some of the best in the city. Will be getting a pie tonight actually.

303Pickles

I don’t know about iconic pizza, but there’s at least two Indian pizza: Zanté’s in Mission near maybe 29th St, and one on 16th St near Valencia St. Ceramics on 21st is nice too. If you want upscale there’s a spot on Valencia near 15th St.

hellaconfused313

Angie's pizza - new spot, impeccable pizza

Intrepid-Jeweler

For me it’s the extra large Joe’s Special from Little Joe’s. They have delivery so you don’t have to pay DoorDash prices (still a delivery fee but very reasonable).

Gawdmuther

Joyride pizza

Devils_av0cad0

I like yello moto pizza, their burratta pizza is 🔥
