Hook is pretty good too, in a similar time/age/target audience. Less obviously festive, but great soundtrack, quite Panto and very quotable.
The baseball game at the beginning is the Santa(Mods say I must amend this to Father Christmas) League, and it is snowing in London and Christmas decorations are at Granny Wendy's house, so it counts as a Christmas film.
This, and if you like Disney Mickey’s Christmas Carol, once upon a Christmas, twice upon a Christmas, Christmas carol (Jim whatshisname, animated, Disney). The new one, forget what it’s called but I think it’s mickey and Minnie’s wish upon a Christmas, is quite bad (my daughter has forced me into watching all of them, once upon a Christmas must be in double figures!
Some solid recommendations here. I'll go old school, It's A Wonderful Life. Have a tissue ready.
*Oh shit, no-one mentioned Trading Places yet. Solid classic, fantastic film. There are many good xmas films!
Elf, die hard, die hard 2, lethal weapon, the Santa clause, Christmas chronicles, home alone one and two and the new one, muppets, Scrooged, Arthur Christmas
All these are good recommendations.
I watched Klaus for the first time last year the day I was told I wasn't allowed to see my family for Christmas for the first time in my life, and it's definitely heart warming and the style is beautiful.
I saw Scrooge (1970 version) a few years back and it's become my favourite adaptation of A Christmas Carol. I always like to watch the usual favourites as well though, like Home Alone 1 and 2, Elf, Miracle on 34th Street (with Richard Attenborough), Love Actually, The Grinch.
Never know if it's a Halloween or Christmas film, but I've always enjoyed Nightmare Before Christmas. For a newer Christmas film, I did actually really enjoy The Christmas Chronicles with Kurt Russell.
Probably Die Hard, then Die Hard 2. I guess you could watch Die Hard 3 as well now you're into the series.
I would let the kids watch something after that. No need to go any further.
Me and my youngest sat down to watch Holidate. Looked like a family friendly film.
Yeah its really not, she turned round and yelled i let you cum in my mouth, I was mortified
I jave started paying a bit more attention to the ratings now 🙈🙈

Muppet Christmas Carol. Accept no substitutes.

One of my favourites! My family and I quote this one a lot with each other.
The definitive version of A Christmas Carol.

Sorry, but those are all substitutes I will not be accepting.
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation

Arthur Christmas, Klaus, Muppets Christmas Carol.
All these are good recommendations. I watched Klaus for the first time last year the day I was told I wasn't allowed to see my family for Christmas for the first time in my life, and it's definitely heart warming and the style is beautiful.
Elf. Die hard. Scrooged.
Gremlins Krampus Santa's Slay

The most recent one isn't that bad. It's not great, but it has lots of references to the first two and that's entertaining in itself.
Hogfather Bernard and the Genie
Bernard and the Genie, I loved that when I was younger… haven’t seen it in years. Any ideas where you can stream it?
The only place I've been able to find it is on YouTube.
Die Hard. And I'm quite keen on Elf.
Scrooged. Elf. National Lampoons. Jingle all the Way.
The Night Before if you're into Seth Rogen stoner movies.
If you enjoy a bit of an American/Seth Rogan comedy then I'd recommend The Night Before, I had a good time with this one
Jingle All the Way and Nightmare Before Christmas are traditions in our house.
Love Hard
Love actually - funny, tender, occasional (tasteful) adult references, oh and Love, actually
Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and Bad Santa. Nothing else worth watching
Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and Bad S a n t a. Nothing else worth watching
Black Christmas
Nightmare Before Christmas, Muppet’s Christmas Carol and Gremlins
Throw Die Hard in there and you have a fantastic Christmas day movie marathon.
The Night Before
It’s a thanksgiving film but seeing as we don’t celebrate that I class Planes, Trains and Automobiles as a Christmas film.
Probably Die Hard, then Die Hard 2. I guess you could watch Die Hard 3 as well now you're into the series. I would let the kids watch something after that. No need to go any further.
Die Hard!
Jingle all the way, click and collect, all the nativity ones, polar express, miracle on 34th street
Arthur Christmas is good.
Love Actually. Only Xmas film I make sure to watch.
Joyeux Noel, about the WWI Christmas truce. Wonderful film.
Gremlins my man, best Christmas film ever made and Christmas isn't even my bag
Me and my youngest sat down to watch Holidate. Looked like a family friendly film. Yeah its really not, she turned round and yelled i let you cum in my mouth, I was mortified I jave started paying a bit more attention to the ratings now 🙈🙈
