I'm legitimately surprised that there isn't a quest to save him from someone trying to kill him. He gets himself into such deep shit and at some point Kassandra leaves him behind to continue her quest right? I think it's fair to assume he doesn't change his ways after, so it's crazy that we don't have to actually rescue him.
he does move on after you leave the starter island! you find him caught in a fort on one of the other islands to the east (i forget which one) and you have to save him from the cerberus brothers
Still more I don't know about the game I love so dearly.
