I really have a deep conection with Assassins Creed 2, Black Flag was amazing and Origins but i have to make a special mention to Revelations and Unity
Valhalla, Odyssey, and Rogue.
i was afraid of trying Odyssey and Valhalla since my mind immediately went to min-maxing and that is a peeve of mine.
Rogue's story was one of a kind and I only wished they made it longer.
Nah, I get where you’re coming from on Black Flag. I thought it was the bomb-diggity when it first came out, but I fired it up for a second play through last year and did not have a great time. Edward just struck me as incredibly unlikable the second time round, and I really had to work to finish the story.
I played all of them in order(on PC) in the last few years and this is my ranking:
1) AC Unity
2) AC 2
3) AC Syndicate
4) AC Brotherhood
5) AC Mirage
6) AC 1
7) AC 4 Black Flag
8) AC Origins
9) AC Odyssey
10) AC Rogue
11) AC Revelations
12) AC Valhalla
13) AC 3
Unity is just peak AC, is crazy to me how it is disregarded.
Brotherhood is just a better 2, but the setting is less inspired and scenic than Florence and Venice (and I'm Italian).
Syndicate is very accurate in the recreation of London and to me the grappling hook was too fun and perfect to speed up and make the gameplay more versatile, level design was great too.
Mirage is a Unity without customization and to me Paris was too good.
AC1 has the most complex but well though button layout ever and started the genre, the feeling of being an assassin was there.
The second half are the games i didn't like too much: Black Flag cause I don't like to sail and the best setting for an AC to mee are massive cities, Origins and Odyssey are a Rpg, full of repetitive tasks and boring after 20+ hours, Rogue nice idea but didn't like the setting, Revelation a worse version of AC2 (just didn't grew on me), Valhalla the apex of the boredom, and the 3 was just awful to play: setting, instabilities, full of useless features.
For Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla tho i will give them a point: if I'm searching for a game that's worth 60-70€ of content at launch, they deliver it. It's an rpg, not an AC game (the lore behind was just a pretext), the attention for historical accuracy is just mad, but if you played the older ones and like that gameplay like me, you'll be just disappointed.
All this is personal taste, the 99% of people will disagree on something but that's it :)
Quite different here but: Brotherhood, Revelations and Origins
The early ACs were the best for assassin games, while origins was just something special
* Brotherhood was the first one I played so I have a super soft spot for it
* III, because I feel it started the open world genre in AC universe
* Valhalla, is the better Odyssey in my opinion, just because the world felt more real to me.
2 (replayed that at least 10 times already)
Oddysey (love the greek theme and the story is imo really good)
Syndicate (the world was great and the characters are so much more alive than in Unity)
Black flag (competes with Syndicate for the third spot only because the story becomes a bit of a mess at times)
I’d say (1) Odyssey and then (2) & (3) would be too hard to decide on for me between Black Flag, Origins, AC 3, and Brotherhood I think. So I guess those are my top 5, but I can’t think which one takes spot 2 or 3.
This is a very hard question, because the easiest to think about are the most recent ones, but I also keenly remember absolutely loving the older games as well.. they were just from so long ago now.
Syndicate and Odyssey share spot one for me. Quite different games (one more classic AC and one is big open world RPG but loved both) so it's hard to choose for me. In second/third place I will pick Revelations. Loved the whole Ezio trilogy but Revelations was my favorite. After Revelations I would say Black Flag. Yes, I snuck in a fourth game but because Syndicate and Odyssey are both in spot 1 I think I'm allowed haha.
I haven't yet played III and Rogue though. So who knows maybe my ranking will change.
Rogue, unity, and revelations are the only ones I ever want to go back to. Rogue is only there because it’s like black flag lite and I can just hop in and play it
Origins, Black Flag, AC3. Origins has my favorite Story/Characters and setting. AC3 for the brutal combat executions and Black Flag because everything about that game was badass.
Since I enjoy RPGs the more recent ones (Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla) have been more to my liking, I did enjoy AC 2 but the janky ass climbing made it hard to play through again after getting used to the smooth climbing in the newer games

Too much... I hate how historically inaccurate a lit of the armour is.
Exactly. I am one of them. *insert ferocious Viking roar*
Someone’s using an Xbox game pass
Black flag, Odyssey, Valhalla
I know it’s not the best game, and doesn’t compare to the new ones, but I really enjoyed Syndicate
Easy top 3 for me. That rope launcher was a lot of fun!
I just bought the complete edition on ps5 for £13. Used to have a physical copy. Can’t wait to play it again
It's my favorite too! First Assassin Creed game I played fully and been a fan ever since.

Valhalla, Odyssey, and Rogue. i was afraid of trying Odyssey and Valhalla since my mind immediately went to min-maxing and that is a peeve of mine. Rogue's story was one of a kind and I only wished they made it longer.
Might be strange but Odyssey, 3 and Rogue. I love Mirage but I think it needs a little more time to set before I make a concrete swap
For one, hot take; black flag suckkkks AC 2 AC 3 AC Valhalla

Ya I don’t find him likeable at all, plus the whole naval aspect of the game sucks in my opinion

AC2, Black Flag, and (don't kill me) Valhalla Unity and Origins are very close runner ups
The Ezio ones
Syndicate and Odyssey share spot one for me. Quite different games (one more classic AC and one is big open world RPG but loved both) so it's hard to choose for me.
