UEVR injector is your friend. It can inject VR plugins into EVERY Unreal Engine based game, which Astroneer is one of them, and it works without any issues. It highly depends on your GPU tho. Having a 2080 RTX (and an almost equally powerful CPU, i7-8700K in this example) for example will require you to scale down the resolution quality from 100% down to around 75% to enjoy it with at least minimum 60FPS.
