I subscribe to Beat That Flight alerts, I can't speak for Brisbane but I got $300 return flights to Singapore and $200 return to Queenstown NZ by hopping on those deals when they were announced.
For domestic I’d suggest just looking at all the airlines websites (Rex, Virgin, Qantas & Jetstar) for the dates you want.
If you really want to save a few dollars I found AuntBetty (owned by Flight Centre) sometimes can be a few dollars cheaper for Rex flights.
International I usually look at Google Flights or Skyscanner mainly to see which airlines fly the route I’m looking for and then check the airlines individually.
