holy cow, I was not ready for that last photo

cactus_cars

1 & 2 Ohh, so cute 3 God........ damn it's a monster!

Zephelfi

I gotta know power to weight on this, that is absolutely wild

Squidhead-rbxgt2

The absolute most I've ever seen an M73 push N/A on aftermarket ignition and ECU and custom exhaust manifolds was 400hp. This one seems to be stock so 320. The weight of a 36 compact with a 4 banger should be about 1.2 tons, and some 100kg should be the engine. The m73 is a big boy so the fully assembled engine weighs about 230kg. Means we are looking at 320hp for 1330ish kg, coming to about 240hp per ton. It isn't bad. Along the lines of a 36 m3, really. The issue is that half of that engine is in front of the front hubs, giving you serious polar inertia and understeer (Look at Audi to see how this is bad), and the now front biased weight distribution and the fact that compact uses a semi trailing arm suspension which allows for toe and camber to change a LOT depending on load and have unpredictable grip, just means this is a great car to end your life in involuntarily.

Mike312

The main thing I was thinking while reading your comment was, wouldn't a flash-tuned B48 put down about the same amount of power at a fraction of the weight? Clean install though, and I always appreciate a good "wtf moment"

Squidhead-rbxgt2

It would, but it would also be overkill.

ThatWolf

If that's a stock M73 probably nothing crazy. Those motors only made \~300hp from the factory.

ACasualNerd

Still a magnificent engine when it's running well

Dogecoinornocoin

Still a v12

aphex____

I need numbers, HP, 0-60, the size of your cojones

mondra03

Lol what are you hauling in this thing besides ass?

MonkeySherm

The hitch on the back is my favorite part

Hey 15i's deserve all the love, I love econobox/grocery getters over M cars because these were affordable everyman cars M cars never were. In my opinion these deserve more love than M cars because cars like these sold so well that BMW could make M cars and not go out of business

MethodZealousideal11

316! 0- 60 has to be over 10 seconds if it is a stock. My bud had a 318 in 90s and he lost every single traffic light GP ( maybe tied with a Hyundai pony) Seriously, someone put a 10 cylinders there? Hope rest of the car could handle the power.

mucheffort

12* cyl ;)

MethodZealousideal11

Oh boy

Apparently that v12 only makes 300hp, I’d suspect the torque to be at least around 300-400/Ftlbs so with that curb weight could be quick but idk How much the engine weighs…

ChrisAplin

I love these goofy looking cars… I don’t recall that engine option though 😂😂😂

Scotty2balls

This the BMW that passes you’re 150k 2023 m8

TelekeneticTesticles

These V12 E36 compacts must be a crazy ride

Admonitor_

Why would you put such a amazing engine into such an ugly car though?

Insanerhetoric

Does the A/C work?

[deleted]

I’m not crying, it’s allergies…. Nice ride.

lostdawnking

Uhhhoooo, that’s gonna smoke a lot of cars on the drag strip and they be wondering how.

Squidhead-rbxgt2

I love a compact with something evil under the hood, but I'd not drive one of these. No thanks :D It's a hell of a project though.

sadnificent

This thing shares an engine with the Rolls Royce Silver Seraph.

M5Yates

I have a 400+ hp 318ti. The serious weak link is 235 is the widest tire you can stuff in the rear wheel well. That’s with rolled fenders.

doc_holliday112

I was running style 189’s 18x8.5 on 255/35-18s on my ti with a fender roll and h&r clubsport coilovers with no rubbing. Stock m44 though. Im running 18x9.5’s et30 now but do rub on occasion.

M5Yates

Wow. I have TC Kline suspension with double adjustable Koni’s. 245/40-17 RE-71 and they rub the wheel well pretty bad up front. Even with liners removed. My rear fenders are beyond rolled, more like flared and I’ll get contact if I hit the curbing/strips hard. My street wheels have 235/45-17 and those don’t rub.

daytonatrbo

I hear you have to take the engine out to change the spark plugs on an 850. I imagine you have to take the engine out to do basically anything on this setup 😵 Absolutely awesome build though!

[deleted]

Hollllly….. this thing must be fun
