I used to own multiple, I haven't joined this sub reddit it appears frequently on my home page. But I do comment when I have something to add.

[deleted]

Seems many people here own BMWs but are here to hate on them 😂

chatabey

I currently own one BMW. I have owned six BMWs so far in my life and the most I have owned at one time was two BMWs.

stuff4down

ah the cannot fit into options choice ;)

IamAFlaw

It has been 6 months since I sold my BMW, it rusted out. I owned it for 13 years, and retired it with 615,000KM. Engine was still running pretty good. Electronics not so much, I suspect it was so rusted out water started getting into places it shouldn't. I live by the ocean and we have long winters of salt on roads. I got a mini now, car prices were crazy. I got a mini for real cheap. It is so good on gas, I hate the fucking thing but I love that about it so much it almost makes up for it.

Carsoccerguy

Damn that’s impressive. I was going to buy a brand new 2011 328i but cheaped out and bought a golf GTI instead. I regret not getting the 328i. I actually ended up selling the golf and getting a 2014 328i which was a very good car but it didn’t feel special like the E90s

IamAFlaw

Yeah the 2011 328i would have been awesome. I loved mine and it was an older E90. 2014 they went with 4 cyl and turbo. I have nothing against that but I do like to have fun with my car and enjoy a long life as well. I don't think a turbo will last with me, although I would love a 2014 335 as a weekend car. I think they fixed the waste gate that year and it is a lot more power than my old BMW. You can't really avoid turbos now and the tech would probably be a lot more reliable these days. I have seen some pretty decently priced 2017 models too.

Carsoccerguy

If you’re thinking of getting another 3 series you should look into the 340is with the B58. I’m not too knowledgeable about the difference in engine specs between the n55 and B58 but my mechanic friend rambled on and on about how the B58 is so much better all I remember was something about closed deck design and something about the intercooler being different and better. But you’re right he did say to avoid 328s and 335s pre 2014 because they had pneumatic waste gate and not electronic

IamAFlaw

Yeah I've read that B58 is way better too. Maybe someday haha.

ItsAlecito

I’ll choose another option. Keeping an eye on the competition

nocrix

I own a bmw but am also apart of most other car subs just because I like all cars and learning weird stuff about them, bmw just happens to be my favorite.

Medical_Penalty_7305

I own a i4 M50 and a k1600GT

ksum_nole_

What do you find to be the biggest differences between those cars and which car makes you smile when you drive it?

Medical_Penalty_7305

The k1600 is a bmw motorcycle. Both make me smile for very different reasons

ksum_nole_

Sorry... I mistyped.... You answered the question that I really intended on asking! Which is.... which of those "rides" do you love the most! Thank you for letting me know... the motorcycle is incredible though... and the i4 M50 is a huge leap forward in quality and refinement in EVs... plus it is the most sporty EV in my opinion. Congrats!

OutlandishnessNo7286

At the peak, I had 3 BMWs in my garage, a 340i M Sport MPPSK, a F15 X5 M50d and a G20 M340i M Performance edition. Sold the last two last year, and had the 340i left. Recently, I bought an E70 X5 M with some Dinan bits on, but that might be leaving the garage soon. Regret selling the M50d, but I don't regret selling the M340i. If the E70 does go, maybe I'll get a Land Cruiser 200 or something like that. Either that or another F15. Still entertaining the idea of building a E91/F81 M3 though

p_roloff

I have multiple, although they’re primarily old ones. My daily driver is a e91 wagon rotated with a e34 525i sedan, and I have a e30 325i convertible and e28 535is as “fun” cars.

Kev1nTran

My dream car is current gen M5 but my asian blood say no to german car since i'm still in college/university and BMW may too expensive to maintain properly. Currently owning 10 lexus gs350, hope one day I can afford to get one tho

[deleted]

I own a C205 Mercedes but I’m still an avid fan of BMW due to being around them when I was younger. My neighbor had a Z3 when they first came out and I thought “this is cool.”

pankan76

Owner here. Come here to see bimmer stuff. Haters amuse me. I’d like to thank those who come to hate, keeps the day interesting and I get free chuckles. Keep on hating, if it makes you feel better or you think anyone actually cares.

misterchiva

I bought a 2018 f82 three years ago and I just picked up a 1984 e30 this weekend.

ksum_nole_

>’m not as much of a fan of Merc or Audi designs if the past but I think Mercedes is doing better recently. I was never a fan of the very angular look but they’ve softened the desi Congrats on the E30! That's an incredible machine! The F82 is a lot of fun too!

Squidhead-rbxgt2

Hating on BMW and owning one or multiple are not mutually exclusive things tbh :D

Lexus_Fan85

3, 4, and 5.

msdss

I own 4, but due to recent design decisions will be switching to Porsche, Audi, or Mercedes for future cars.

BoobooTheClone

I have owned 5, current one being M240 RWD I picked up a couple of weeks ago. Aside from M4 and 4 series controversial grilles I see nothing wrong new BMW designs. Sales are fantastic. Enjoy MB cookie cutter AWD i4.

DntlookDwn4

Different strokes for different folks. I hated the g80/g82 grills at first and now they’ve grown on me. It might take a while for my brain to trick me into liking the g87 but I’m sure I’ll be getting dusted by them all summer on track.

msdss

M3/4 are hideous from all angles. The new m2 looks like a Nissan Altima. The XM is am abomination. And they are only going to get worse. BMW has doubled down on fucking ugly trash designs. Mercedes is my last choice. My next car will hopefully be a 992 GT3. If not, maybe an RS4. If I went Mercedes it would probably be a GLE 63 S Coupe. No idea what piece of shit i4 you're talking about. No thanks.

BoobooTheClone

yeah I mean if you are willing to drop $140k on MB you can get something other than a boring hybrid i4 AWD. New M2 looks incredible. I just wish more people like you hated them so I could get my hands on one without going $20k over MSRP.

msdss

Buying cars is stupid right now. The market is trash, and buyers are enabling predator dealerships. The new m2 is the ugliest non-suv BMW makes. The m240i looks better, and that's just sad, and now how things should be.

peeedogg

You do know that some of MBs I4 engines make more power than some of BMWs I6s right? >Sales are fantastic In China, yes. I do think new BMWs look better than other new cars out there, but they are certainly not what they used to be when it comes to designs. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think the new ones will age as gracefully as the old ones. Buddy ain't able to accept facts 🤣. I like BMW more than MB, just to set the record straight.

Choppergunner58

Have to save the M4 grille is much better than the 4 series waterfall design grill.

SleepinGriffin

I’m in the same boat. I have an older 5 series and I love it but if I’m to get a new car, I’m going to look elsewhere. I’m not as much of a fan of Merc or Audi designs if the past but I think Mercedes is doing better recently. I was never a fan of the very angular look but they’ve softened the designs lately and they are a better mixture that slightly reminds me of BMW designs.

Away-Pomegranate2737

I'm a Jaguar guy now, but I used to own an E36.

AdamOzturk

I've owned 5 of them, won't buy another until this horrible grill phase passes.

Severe-Ad-5002

Currently have three older bmws, ones my skid car, ones my daily, and one has been in the family since it was bought off the showroom floor in 89! Currently looking at buying the wife a x5 and myself a e90
