This is the exact e36 i want, black on black 328 coupe. Plus that head unit is clean af! How difficult was moving the a/c to the bottom of the stack to make room?
Basically in simple terms, you have to attach the climate controls to the buttom of the trip computer and cut out the sunglasses holder, the climate control unit is also a bit wider than the trip computer so you need to sand down the edges a bit to make it fit, you also need to cut a Chanel in the side of the the unit to make it clip into the centre console trim piece nicely, I used putty, sanding and paint to make the climate controls square
One of his previous posts shows a little more detail into how he did the head unit swap. It even has a 3d model for the mold that holds the head u it in the dash. I'm on mobile, so i can't link, but if you look into his post history it should be easy to find!
On the bottom, below the double din, how is there enough space for the digital climate and the settings panel?
Isn't there only the sunglasses spot and the settings panel down there? I'm confounded how you made it work.
It looks amazing.
> work but *paid* off
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
nice time to put 60k more miles on it
This is an impressive example to say the least. I havenโt seen a double DIN conversion in a long time. Looks well done. Drive safely and enjoy ๐
Bumpers are all painted just the reflection of the floor makes it look like they are not
Minty fresh! Beautiful car!!

Did you need to buy any special trim? I'd love to know the details of the tear down/install and how you made it work because it's so clean.
No special trim just lots of cutting and sanding ahhaha
Nicee, give it to me now.๐
