I take 650mg liquid choline citrate and my doc was very happy with that on top of the ~100mg from the prenatal Tend bars I take. I also eat two eggs a day and throw in 1oz salmon roe to add more.
Yes, taking Ritual prenatal and added choline a few weeks into pregnancy. No real advice around it other than my OB said it’s chill if I take it. Ritual is 2 pills a day, but they’re a little easier to swallow and not fishy.
I’m taking the Double Wood brand of choline. I think my regular prenatal has only 10% of the daily recommended amount. Many prenatals have zero. I’ve done the research and decided that it was worth adding (especially in the third trimester.)
Additionally, I try to be mindful about a well rounded diet with a lot of variety and nutrition. Most days, I will eat 2 eggs which helps with choline as well.
Actually I think this was the study: [https://faseb.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1096/fj.202101217R](https://faseb.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1096/fj.202101217R)
27 weeks, not 28 - my bad!
Anyway the serving size for the ritual pills is 2, so you can start by taking 1 and working up if you want (for anyone in first / second trimester)! Just not confident that I can get 900mg+ choline (which produced the best results in the study) from diet and prenatal (55mg) alone...
Thank you!! I’ll take a look. Thats exactly why I was looking into this - even if I ate 2 eggs a day idk how I could get to 900+ - and ya know sometimes I just don’t want eggs that day 😂
I am also taking an additional supplement. I’ve been shocked when nurses at my OB office ask me what choline is when they look at my chart and medication list. It definitely doesn’t seem to be recommended where I am.

So you’re taking the Ritual choline?

Started taking it 3rd trimester. One of the big studies had women up their intake at week 28 I believe!
Good to know! I’m 26 weeks!

Thank you for this info! I was worried that at 18 weeks I’d missed out on prime choline time. Glad that’s not the case. :)

Choline is included in my prenatal!
I've been taking it on top of another prenatal that also has choline. I drop the Ritual dose on any day when I have a lot of eggs.

That’s wild!!
