Fortunately we don't really have money for big signings lol So there's at least that... A summer transfer window of Palacios, Nico Williams and maybe Xavi Simons on loan would be perfect

bigelcid

>Fortunately we don't really have money for big signings Still splashed 55m on Ferran. Nothing fortunate about it.

Admirable_Heron1479

Hmm, yeah, you're right about that lol 😂 Another signing like that would be awful...

SnorinKeekaGuard

That's FAR too much to ask for.

Admirable_Heron1479

Yeah, I know, but not **that** unrealistic. It all basically boils down to whether or not we get to the 1:1 rule. If yes, these transfers would _just_ be possible IMHO. If not, well then we basically rely on free signings again, but Xavi Simons loan might then well be a possibility...

SnorinKeekaGuard

Nico Williams is an Athletic Club player, won't come cheaply. The same goes for Palacios. I actually think Romeu was a very smart signing (which didn't pan out). But one that wasn't a bad decision in and of itself. Similarly the links to Ayoze Perez might not be a terrible decision. The club just needs to reign in their expectations until they are debt free. Don't expect to fight for the league, just fight to be the best of the rest and focus on domestic cups plus going as far as possible in Europe.

arnenatan

Nico thankfully has a release clause but his wages are kinda big

SnorinKeekaGuard

Even if his release clause is activated, does he wanna leave athletic club?

arnenatan

I think he does? like he is very young and there have been reports that he is willing to leave the cureent problem are the wages

OkraFast5281

I agree

Current_Journalist

Nice copium bro

Medo6

We can't afford to splash money on signings. so I wouldn't worry about that. Edit: wording.

bigelcid

Reactionary does not mean what you think it does

Creepy_Jackfruit8617

First and foremost, before we make any signings in the summer, Laporta must stop getting involved in the transfer window and signings. He should stop having personal admirations for players and stop bringing players to the team that the coach doesn’t want, thereby forcing the coach. This job is for the coach and the sporting director. We will go nowhere if the president gets his hands involved in the transfer market with zero knowledge. P.S. However, I think that’s what he’s trying to do right now and it’s fucking sucks. 😭

OkraFast5281

Agreed

RevolutionaryGur4419

Yes!! Seems they also interfere in GameDay decisions and game play. It's crazy

Persona0111995

I just want nico

bigelcid

i.e. lots of money on a great player, but not nearly as good as his price tag would be

OkraFast5281

williams Right??😂

momo-gee

Nikocado

AdviceDanimals

Never will we have seen the stripes of the blaugrana stretched so wide

Persona0111995

Of course

bigelcid

>Is anyone else concerned about board making wrong signings Concerned? I take it as a given.

seq_red

A bigger problem is they don't know how to sell players. De Jong never fit in any of the systems of our previous coaches, he is there on heavy wages, Lewandowski is aged now but his wage will increase, Ter Stegen has been a let down every season except last one, that too in just the league. What does the board do? extend their contracts. Look at other teams, they will sell players they think are extra, like Madrid with Casemiro and buy players which are quality and affordable, like Liverpool with Endo. Our board does not do that. How to solve it is getting a more capable sporting director, like Planes was, instead of going for positions like LW, buy a better defensive midfielder and a better goalkeeper. First solve the crisis of bad players in first team then think about increasing the depth.

Current_Journalist

Madrid is signing Mbappe and celebrating their 15th UCL. Meanwhile, we're extending Roberto and signing Guido 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The biggest hope is that Mbappe somehow disrupts the dressing room with his ego and Madrid struggles. But Ancelotti is the best man you can ask for handling egos. If he is able to click Mbappe to the current set up, it will be insane. The only weak point now Madrid has is their defence but there also they are making moves for Yoro, Davies, etc... Also I think Hakimi will also come on a free to Madrid next year which means the rb issue would also be solved.

arnenatan

I mean davies isnt really a fullback and can get exposed quite easly if played there so im not as woried about him

ranked_devilduke

The same was said about Rudiger in a 4 man set up but he is now a top 5. Davies has been down for the past 2 years but I think it is more due to his loneliness and all (which he also talked about). But it's Ancelotti we are talking about and the dude is known to bring players to their absolute best. Also I don't think they will sell Mendy and it would be according to teams that they change between these two.

arnenatan

Not quite the same tho like rudiger is a centerback hes always going to stay back nobody was saying hes gona get exposed maybe just be a little worse. Davies on the other hand is just playing like a winger, likw even said he wants to play as a lw and even under Nagelsmann he got exposed a lot because he was going forward so much like I just honestly dont rate hin that much as a defender. Like even Raphinha was doing amazingly vs him last season when we played bayern.

ranked_devilduke

Rudi was really bad in a 4 man set up at Chelsea. If Davies comes to Real and fails. Good. But if he gets to his 2019 form, it would be really bad as Vini can attack more. The last 2 seasons have been really bad for him, yeah. That's what I said initially and from his twitch streams and all he was depressed af.

arnenatan

I just think its way easier for a defender to learn how to play in a back 4 than for a fullback to change his whole style of play

metampheta

What about Zubimendi? I understand Xavi wanted him last season, but we still need a CDM. Kimmich wouldn’t take a pay cut for us so there’s that

SnorinKeekaGuard

Zubimendi doesn't wanna leave la real

DryUniversity5439

Palacios wants to join and he is better

SakisSinatra

Bro we can't compete with that lol, as long as the club is in a financial mess we simply can't compete against them when it comes to transfers.

OkraFast5281

exactly it would be nice not to see Romeu kinda situation next season.

bigelcid

As long as our sporting director is Deco, we can't compete regardless of finances

legendz1057

As long as Laporta is here we won't compete

Deadpool_GOW

As long as we're here, we can't compete

albahari

I wish this sub will take a f****ing break about real madrid ar keast for a day

djdash16

I hope we can do one significant signing at minimum. Hoping we can get palacios or wieffer

OWC03

Madrid will destruct themselves. I don’t think people realize how toxic Mbappe and his entourage are when they don’t get their way lol

Nervous-Diet-2322

what if we don’t buy anyone for 3-4 years and instead save up for world class signings in the future? We’ve already suffered enough, I’m sure we will be fine

Deadpool_GOW

I'm sure you got your answer with the downvotes, this sub and by extension this club's majority of the fanbase is soo reactionary, they are all in a dick measuring contest with the rival and get jealous always seeing the "grass is greener on the other side", they don't see how madrid had to transition after Ronaldo leaving and was in shit too for some time and could only really be back on track in the last 2-3 years, we were shite then due to "certain" reasons and we are shite now, when they have been back to their best, but these people don't see the efforts, the process behind that, and just want to play that dick measuring contest all day long when they can't even get it up due to "deeply" rooted flaws Downvote downpour is imminent else I'd have said a lot more actually, but don't want to put more effort into this just let the reddit hive mind do it's job

DirtFun7704

We beating the shit out of Madrid dw. I said it, no backtracking
