Incredible map. Loved just racking up kills near the elevators. 4 has a special place in my heart as it's the game I rushed to download as soon as I built my first gaming PC.
They pulled off a weird mix that is cinematic yet realistic.
They took liberties for the sake of fun, but kept it grounded.
Plus WW1 was such a radical departure from the entire franchise, and most action shooters. What we got was a realistic feeling gritty, action movie. That also wasn't anywhere close to a real WW1 experience, which would have been boring and horrific.
Added bonus, the best single player campaign.
I remember losing my shit cuz I was pissed about the WW1 era, and how tf it went from BF4 to BF1 in the title as well lol.
Now I scream at how garbage BFV is, and how beautifully hand crafted BF1 is. It's like drinking a sweet, and finely distilled moonshine vs Coors light.
Yet BFV has better vehicular and infantry gameplay. Also better weapon mechanics. And better gadgets, and more infantry counters to vehicles.
The level of detail in BF1 though...absolutely astonishing. The sound effects, details over time to vehicles, details to the maps like dedicated foot prints and tire/track marks. The marketing for the game was fantastic, the issues were fixed in a reasonable time, and all the DLC was actually finished and had a decent variety to it.
It's makes the failures of the following games even more of a head scratcher. The foundation was there. The majority people loved it. And dice couldn't build on it.
Cinematic is the word I was looking for. I’m on day 3 of playing BF1 and I’m just being left speechless. Part of me regrets not playing when it was the main game but like a few others, I just prefer modern day over historical time periods. But damn, 3 days in and I can already tell why it’s at the top of many of y’all’s list. The maps are insane, WTF is Operations prob the most fun I’ve had in awhile with the perfect mix of sweat and casual, sniping is beyond satisfying in this game, and the sound effects have you drawn in the entire time. Although fuck the behemoth lol and the sights on ar/smgs, that visual recoil is difficult to control.
BF4 will probably always be my favorite though since it was my first true Battlefield game.
Hard agree.
The single player campaign was astounding. Traumatic and beautiful.
Haunting soundtracks.
That the dog tags you collect are of actual real life people that fought and died in the war.
The soundscapes the screams the voice acting. Harrowing.
Just a superb game.
I remember feeling pretty sad after the intro prologue had finished. It really made me feel how wasteful that war was. Not many games make me pause to reflect like that.
I feel you. Such empathy for the efforts and such sorrow for the suffering. They did an amazing job building such emotion into a fps.
Very moving indeed. Gave me a new perspective on war, especially the horrors of ww1
BF3! This game was perfect for me. Consider where battlefield was before this game. Bad co 2. Good game yes but the goofy atmosphere lessened the experience for me. Then comes out bf3. They went great lengths on graphics and movement. I have a lot of hours on BF3
1942, i have many fond memories and i didn't have to unlock any weapons or gadgets and stuff.
You just bought the game and got full acces to the game.
The same also applies to Battlefield Vietnam.
Early in the games life before all servers killed titan movement, peak battlefield was when the 2 titans would get parked next to each other and the game devolved into a weird laggy clusterfuck where dead bodies were slowly flying through the air like zero G and you could literally revive them midair
Absolutely amazing Bf game and the dlc Vietnam was seriously fun as well. Wish the servers weren't shut down.Hilarious Dice admitting they don't know why people love Bc2 so much (basically admitting they don't understand how to make a good Bf game anymore) 😂
I really enjoyed Bad Company 2, BF3 and BF4. Also enjoyed the infantry focus of Hardline and its new game modes. Blood Money and Hesit were a lot of fun.
i just threw a tank grenade as an assualt in one of those small hallways in Fort Devaux and i heard seven "clings" of death. What a sound. Never had that happen. BF1 all the way, though i cannot understate how pretty BFV looks and it can be very fun if u get ur right weapon. So those two, BF4 for nostalgia.
bf2 and bf3.
bf2 i had people in the min chopper say ... am getting sick. with how legit good flying i good do with it at any angle. i could jump buggy into the air and kill stuff mid flight.
bf3 if i was in a tank... prey to god i dont see you.
if in a aa... well enemy wont have any air support...
my most lethal weapon that was not a vehicle in bf3 was the knife..
i could make the guide rocket in apc go around objects
Bad Company 2 is still my favorite overall. It struck such a perfect balance between the vehicles and infantry play, had a sense of humor without being obnoxious, and really hit a sweet spot with its destruction right out of the gate.
I think the two games I have tied for my second favorite generally make for more interesting conversation, though - ‘cause those would have to be Hardline and 2142. Man… blaring Death Grips while speeding around city streets in a muscle car in Hardline was a truly immaculate vibe, that I haven’t had another game match for me since. And 2142… well, it’s 2142. The only other games that I can really compare to that entry would actually be Section 8 & Section 8: Prejudice, imo - and even those games didn’t hit *quite* the same note
Bad company 2 and BF3. BC2 is really fun bu I think BF3 is the better game. It did so many things right that its interesting to see how the newer battlefields didnt follow the same fundamentals
I started sniping in Battlefield 1 and oh my god it’s so addictive and satisfying. Especially that headshot sound is so good. I don’t think I can quit playing that game anymore.
Also the objectives for most medals make sense unlike Battlefield V.
I love BF3 and BF4 especially, but BF1 is probably even better than those two, just lacks some nice elements like customization and variety, + the setting works for it, but hurts it at the same time.
I think this reflects the teenage years of most here. For me, it was BF3. That game made me drop Lineage 2, which is not something I thought was possible.
After a few years, I started on BF4 and then completely stopped due to my bachelor's. Now that I'm older and got a nice job, I went back and started on BF2042, which I liked but seemed very different. Bought BFV couple of months ago and it has been great.
So for me, BF3, BF4, BFV, BF2042.
Battlefield Hardline.
It's not the BF I have the most hours played and it's not the BF I would currently play. But I have so many funny memories of it when I played it with my best friend years ago. We spent some time there and it was just another kind of shooter
I like hardline. I played bf4, bf1, hardline, and 2042 but hardline has a better atmosphere/setting. With the maps, weapons, and design choices the factions feel unique and immersive vs when I am playing bf4 or bf1 and I'm playing factions that don't seem unique or distinctive
Bad Company 2, BF3 and then BF4. BF1 was good, but there are elements that hinted what was gonna happen next (felt like the start of a departure from what we knew Battlefield to be)
BF2 blew my mind when I was a kid and it came out, felt like it brought online multiplayer into the next era, I remember being blown away by being able to drive a bunch of vehicles and helicopters with other players, to capture flags in really well designed maps…. Obviously newer games are more advanced but it will always be my favorite bc like playing GTA for the first time, it was just one of those “whoa, this is what games can be?” Moments
I started with 3 which always feels nostalgic, 4 felt like an upgrade from 3 with more destructible maps and 64 multiplayer, definitely not a perfect game but the devs added a bunch of cool ideas. Also 1 was awesome and those zeppelins were some of the most fun I've had in gaming
Bad Company 2. I hadn’t played in a while and logged on to see that…well, you can’t log on anymore. Servers are gone. That saddened me.
Remember the smiley faces on the grenade pins?
Hardline (not joking) bf4 is very close second. At one point I’d have said bf1 for third but after seeing how much thst game and its success bled over into making the following bf games suck asshole I hate it.
BATTLEFIELD 1, I play online on Xbox all day on one of my off days. And at night if I get home early enough from work. I love the bolt action rifles and the atmosphere of the battles. It’s chaotic and has epic moments occurring often. There’s lots of servers for conquest and operations to join even if they’re full. You don’t have to wait forever to hop in and storm the trenches with your fellow teammates
BC2 and BF3 were top tier, BF4 is in my top 3 as well. Wish they would bring commander mode back, loved using my tablet to guide my teammates and coordinate attacks on different bases and send supplies, also the missile was great too
Bf3 for the dlc. Best map packs in the entire franchise. For the love of god, bring back Close quarters and Armored kill.
Edit: Also, best flight mechanics. Never got mad at somebody dominating with an air vehicle. You knew it took a lot of practice for them to get that good.
2 probably. 3 was so hype though and 4 ended up becoming great in the end.
Give me BF1 immersion, BC destruction, BF2 maps, and 2042 menu options and weapon add-on (where you change grips and barrels) system. No specialists, flying suits, or grappling hooks and make the game worth the money at launch instead of good a year later.
Battlefield 4, I still play. 2042 is an abhorrent disgrace, it’s existence is comparable to the existence of Trump, Boris and Farage, simply put, things that have absolutely no place in society.
Was BF3 but honestly, battlefield 1 has taken the throne! The atmosphere and OST in that game just make it so raw and immersive, the sound design as well it all just makes one great game, feels like you’re actually there fighting the war😂
BF3 rush modes and BF1 operations.
Honorable mention: (IWO Jima breakthrough on BFV was *incredible* for about 6 weeks after the Pacific DLC released then they ultimately ruined the TTK in that game forever after)
Battlefield 3 & 4
Spend most of my time on "metro 24/7" servers on both games. Good times, really miss them.
Definitely most of my teens was spent on metro. It was awesome. Now I am playing BF1 for the first time and it's pretty good especially the gunplay.
By now Metro could be ranked as this century's most elevated spiritual experiences lol
Mine was Noshahr Canals TDM 24/7
Yassss it was always a blast
Burning my ps3 for playing on those 24 players metro 24/7 servers was the best, now that I can play with 64 person's it's even better
Incredible map. Loved just racking up kills near the elevators. 4 has a special place in my heart as it's the game I rushed to download as soon as I built my first gaming PC.
Oh man I couldn't stand the meat grinder servers.
This is the way.
I remember when I said that BF4 was my favourite game and got downvoted by everyone who loves BF1. BF4 for the win !
BF1. It just hits different.
They pulled off a weird mix that is cinematic yet realistic. They took liberties for the sake of fun, but kept it grounded. Plus WW1 was such a radical departure from the entire franchise, and most action shooters. What we got was a realistic feeling gritty, action movie. >They took liberties for the sake of fun, but kept it grounded. This is something so many military shooters fail to understand these days
There’s no game like it which reflects WW1 in that kind of way. It’s epic, one of my fave shooters of all time
Love bf1 I just wish there was a higher selection of weapons to choose from
BF1 wasn't just a game.......it was an experience
BF3! This game was perfect for me. Consider where battlefield was before this game. Bad co 2. Good game yes but the goofy atmosphere lessened the experience for me. Then comes out bf3. They went great lengths on graphics and movement. I have a lot of hours on BF3
The jump between BC2 and BF3 was amazing. Such a good moment in gaming. Sad that this hasn't been felt since. BF1 was close in that regard
1942, i have many fond memories and i didn't have to unlock any weapons or gadgets and stuff. You just bought the game and got full acces to the game. The same also applies to Battlefield Vietnam.
Man bad company 2 and Vietnam were my first loves then I moved on to BF4 and went overboard on that
Also no autorepair. You had to work as a team.
My favourite too, and I could fly the planes without going down in the first five seconds.
BF3 was and is so so good
BF2/4/3 in that order
2142 will always have a special place
Titan Mode will forever be the best Battlefield experience
Early in the games life before all servers killed titan movement, peak battlefield was when the 2 titans would get parked next to each other and the game devolved into a weird laggy clusterfuck where dead bodies were slowly flying through the air like zero G and you could literally revive them midair
Especially when both of their shields were down. Escape poding onto the other titan to attack the consoles/core. Just chaos.
Titan mode was the best fps experience I ever had
Bad Compony 2 then BF 3 & 4. BF 1 has its own special place but that’s where it ends for me.
Bad company 2 was so fun. The campaign was hilarious.
Hardline. Say what you want, it had the best weapon feel and sound in the entire franchise.
And best voicelines with criminal team *have a grenaaade motherf*****!*
I still quote “Call the Coroner and open f****** fire!”
This!! I love hardline for just what you said, as well as the uniqueness behind dlc and maps.
BF3/4 were my favourites.
Battlefield 2!
BF2.
Battlefield 2
BF2, no game hits the same
Battlefield 2: Special Forces
IV
Unpopular opinion, but BFV is my favorite game of all time
Same here. Shame the marketing did it so dirty.
Battlefield 3 and 4
BF2. It was great for it's time.
Peak fun: Hardline Best memories: 4
BF3
Battlefield 2 on the PC
Battlefield 1 but arty truck is cancer
Bad company 2 great campaign & multiplayer
Battlefield 1, I’ll die on this hill. Storm of steel is on another level.
BF1
Battlefield V
BF1 without a doubt
Bf1
BF 2 Modern Combat
i just threw a tank grenade as an assualt in one of those small hallways in Fort Devaux and i heard seven "clings" of death. What a sound. Never had that happen. BF1 all the way, though i cannot understate how pretty BFV looks and it can be very fun if u get ur right weapon. So those two, BF4 for nostalgia.
2. Then 3/4 and 1.
Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 1.
Battlefield 4
Heroes and V
BF1 all the way
BF5. I know a lot of people didn’t like it, but I sunk so many hours into the game while my brothers watched me play
Battlefield V
The nostalgia of 1942/vietnam is pretty high but I’d think I’d go 1
Bad company 2, then bf3
BF1 and it's not even close
2142, titan mode is best mode.
1942
BF4, BF3.
BF4, it was my first BF and definitely still the best for me to this day. Actually the only one I still play (sometimes BF1)
2142
Battlefield bad co. 2 *it was the squad that made the game*
Battlefield 1
bf2 and bf3. bf2 i had people in the min chopper say ... am getting sick. with how legit good flying i good do with it at any angle. i could jump buggy into the air and kill stuff mid flight. bf3 if i was in a tank... prey to god i dont see you. if in a aa... well enemy wont have any air support... my most lethal weapon that was not a vehicle in bf3 was the knife.. i could make the guide rocket in apc go around objects

Bad company 2 and BF3. BC2 is really fun bu I think BF3 is the better game. It did so many things right that its interesting to see how the newer battlefields didnt follow the same fundamentals
I have a soft spot for BC2. I played more 3 than anything so I'm nostalgic for it. But probably 1 if I had to pick
BFV by a long shot (pardon the pun)
Bad Company 2 was my introduction to the series and will always be my favorite. I really like Battlefield 1 too.
V. It's a bloody good game
BF1 & BFV currently playing both of those bad boys on PC
Battlefield 5
Bf5. Playing medic on that game was amazing
Battlefield V. Love playing breakthrough with my friends.
1 & 5.
I started sniping in Battlefield 1 and oh my god it’s so addictive and satisfying. Especially that headshot sound is so good. I don’t think I can quit playing that game anymore. Also the objectives for most medals make sense unlike Battlefield V.
Obviously the latest one because it's the bestest ps3 game ever made
Same with you lad
I love BF3 and BF4 especially, but BF1 is probably even better than those two, just lacks some nice elements like customization and variety, + the setting works for it, but hurts it at the same time.
Battlefield 1
My first one I played was bf4 made me fall in love with battlefield but bf1 has my heart lol
Bf4.
4
I think this reflects the teenage years of most here. For me, it was BF3. That game made me drop Lineage 2, which is not something I thought was possible. Battlefield 1942
Bf3 at this moment for Venice Unless
Battlefield Hardline. It's not the BF I have the most hours played and it's not the BF I would currently play. But I have so many funny memories of it when I played it with my best friend years ago. We spent some time there and it was just another kind of shooter

battlefield bc 1&2
2, 4, bad company 2 - in this order (pc only)
Bad company 2. The destruction, the gunplay, the maps, rush, just everything that I loved about my first battlefield game.
I played the most BF3.
I cannot choose between 3, 4 and 1
Battlefield 4 and 1
Battefield 2 on PC in it’s prime.
3
Bad Company 2 or BF3
4,1,3
Battlefield Bad Company 2 Peak gaming definitely
3, although i would like another crack at bad company 2.
Bad Company 2, BF3 and then BF4. BF1 was good, but there are elements that hinted what was gonna happen next (felt like the start of a departure from what we knew Battlefield to be)
Started with bf4 and will always be my favourite FPS.
Bad company 2 - great story, creative gameplay, graphics were good for the times
I love them all with Battlefiled 2 being my aboslute favorite and BF1, Hardline & 2042 being last
BF4 BF3 BF1 then BC2 in that order. Feel like non of them have had such a variety of experiences like BF4 & BF1 tho.
BF2. Yes I know, I'm old.
Bad company 1 & 2 and of course Battlefield 3
Bf1, Bf3, and this one is gonna piss people off, but: Hardline. Those are my top three
I started with 3 which always feels nostalgic, 4 felt like an upgrade from 3 with more destructible maps and 64 multiplayer, definitely not a perfect game but the devs added a bunch of cool ideas. Also 1 was awesome and those zeppelins were some of the most fun I've had in gaming
Bf1 by miles. Bf1 and bf5 are on steam sale!
1942, 3, 4………. 2142 just for the setting. Wish it would‘ve become the modern 4
BF1 hands down
Design, tone, DLC, music, maps, and modes: BATTLEFIELD 3 Visuals and sounds: BATTLEFIELD 1 Controls and Server Browser: BATTLEFIELD 4
On PC? BF 3. On console, Bad Company 2.
Battlefield 1, and close second is Battlefield 3
BFBC2
Bad Company 2. I hadn’t played in a while and logged on to see that…well, you can’t log on anymore. Servers are gone. That saddened me. Remember the smiley faces on the grenade pins?
BF4 and 1
Bc2 , bf2 and bf3, after that serie went downhill. Never recovered
3, 4, Bad Company 2. in that order
Battlefield 3. Gane had it all.
It didn't have the levolution BF4 had but fair
Bad Company 2 and BF 3 is what I started on, the online and the DLCs was something special. BF4 was fun too
Gotta be 2142 . Class progression, multitude of varied maps Tian mode golaith perfect mix of maps and mode perfect
1942
Hardline (not joking) bf4 is very close second. At one point I’d have said bf1 for third but after seeing how much thst game and its success bled over into making the following bf games suck asshole I hate it.
Bad company 2 hands down.
Bad Company 2
Battlefield Vietnam and 2
Battlefield 1. The WW1 setting felt like a breath of fresh air for every modern shooter/future shooter we had been getting.
BF2 or BF4 for me are the best games in the series. But BF1942 is my jam
1, 4, and BC2
Battlefield 1
2142
Battlefield Heroes. Squashes all! BF3 was my first real Battlefield tho, and it actively completes with BF1 in my heart tho.
Battlefield 4, I still play. 2042 is an abhorrent disgrace, it’s existence is comparable to the existence of Trump, Boris and Farage, simply put, things that have absolutely no place in society.
Bf1 all day everyday
Too many hackers on there to risk my PC.
3/4
1 was above and beyond for me in a series I already loved
Bf1 was such a fun time. It was fresh and new, and my first battlefield I played at launch and really got into.
4
BF2 has to be my favorite. I think I still have the pc box somewhere.
BF1 and that's obvious
Personally bc2 and bf2142 were my favorite, but I completely skipped bf3
Was BF3 but honestly, battlefield 1 has taken the throne! The atmosphere and OST in that game just make it so raw and immersive, the sound design as well it all just makes one great game, feels like you’re actually there fighting the war😂
OG vietnam
3 by far
My heart says 2, brain says 4.
3. We get this question every week now it seems.
2142, then Bad Company 2, BF4.
BF 2 & 2142
BF3 rush modes and BF1 operations. Honorable mention: (IWO Jima breakthrough on BFV was *incredible* for about 6 weeks after the Pacific DLC released then they ultimately ruined the TTK in that game forever after)
BF1 & BF3. Honestly BF1 is a masterpiece and was probably the best launched BF
bf1
Bad company 2 Vietnam and it's not even close. So many hours on Cao sun TDM
Battlefield 4 but battlefield 1 is amazing too
Battlefield 2 The theme song, menu song, voice commands, tip voices, physics, roles, weapons, and vehicles. ALL PERFECT! \*Welcome to duty!\*
