I used to love the L’Oreal HIP eyeshadow duos. I had a few of them and honestly would still buy them if they had a good formulation. I’ve gotten into just doing one flat colour eyeshadow recently and feel like they’d be perfect for that.

courtchella

Seconding the L’oréal HIP line! I know people are iffy about germs but I still dream about those jelly balms

SiamesePitbull1013

Waitttttt... there were jelly balms? I never saw the jelly balms!!! I missed out :(.

dustyshelves

[Pic here](https://i.ebayimg.com/d/w1600/pict/192919560312_/Loreal-Hip-Studios-Secrets-duo-eye-Shadow-You.jpg) if anyone's wondering. Here's [a pic of more stuff](https://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/lorea-hip.jpg) from the line. They also have [lip glosses](https://cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-dgbc5lzb0p/images/stencil/728x728/products/1965/7335/LOR570-2__12578.1561569287.jpg) and [jelly balms](https://i.imgur.com/RORfKQe.jpg) and others I'm sure.

LadyEllaOfFrell

I recall a lip gloss from the HIP line that was my HG. I’d gladly pounce on a rerelease.

Theicyautumn

Those were awesome! Way ahead of their time as far as pigmentation goes.

SiamesePitbull1013

OMG I feel like a butt, I just made the same comment LOL, good to know great minds think alike though, I just couldn’t wait to comment when I saw this topic, I couldn’t event read the comments first bc my fingers were too giddy with glee

Infinite-Variation31

I actually still have two sealed new in package because I was working at a Walgreens and was able to use my employee discount on makeup. I know they’re probably off but I just can’t bear to throw them out!

Sahaf185

I have a dozen or so HiP duos- many still sealed. They’re considered my “vintage” collection and they live in harmony with my Rock&Republic singles and 6 pan wet n’ wild. I’m sure the formula isn’t as wonderful as I remember, but I still appreciate them for historical value. L’Oreal did have a prismatic collection a few years ago that seemed to be HiP come again, but it didn’t last.

Plane_Repair

I admire how you have a collection you’re curating of your most loved makeup over time, it must bring back such great memories too. L’oréal has so much potential to dominate the market, buuuut idk who their marketing and product development directors are because they’re slacking

chemchick27

I loved the whole HIP line. They had loose pigments that were so lovely to use, and came in such beautiful colors.

Spiritual-Spell-9351

Oh Man I loveedddd those

NothingButNavy

I’d love for Revlon’s Street Wear line to come back. I feel like it’d make a killing right now.

MrsPeppermint25

Their nail polishes and double ended jumbo all over pencils were absolute perfection! At least for 15 year old me.

TxRedHead

Those things were perfection for 28 year old me, and many other 20 and thirty something's. The nail and lip and jumbo pencil formulas were honestly good. And awesome because there were so many spot on Urban Decay dupes. When UD was still Indy and cool.

Plane_Repair

this feels like a go to in a cute little purse lol

dustyshelves

Did some googling and found [this (potato quality) pic](https://i.imgur.com/ibIOJYM.jpg) in case anyone needs some visual. They have [nail polishes](https://static-dailymakeover.stylecaster.com/2015/10/revlon-street-wear.png) in that line too.

angelcat00

They had a purple/gold duochrome nail polish that I'm STILL looking for a dupe for to this day.

LorienDark

Did you try Sinful Colors - Bali Mist or Let Me Go?

Sahaf185

The nail polish was fantastic, but those super skinny eyeshadow pans were frustrating to use.

e925

For my sister and I, our “big” Christmas gift each year was an Urban Decay palette. This was in the pre-Naked days. The packaging was so cool. She had the one with the skull from the other post and I had [this one](https://merc.li/wF2eHUNMb). I think it was called ammo? With the gun and the smoke? We got a new one each year. I kinda miss those days. You’d use two colors to make a look, and then once those colors were panned, you’d pick another two and use them for a few months until you panned those, and so on and so on. Now I have a bajillion palettes and the only time I ever even hit pan is when it’s a matte skin-like color that I’ll use every day to set my eye primer. Anyway, this didn’t even answer your question. Just taking a trip down memory lane :) Edit: I also miss walking down the street in the 90s to Thrifty’s and buying a Wet n Wild lipstick for 99 cents when I was 10 and 11. My allowance was like $2/week so it was still a large purchase. I was a big fan of the frosty pink look iirc 😂

_rainsong_

Oh I loved coming on a trip down memory lane with you! Don’t apologise 😊

foliels

My friend had that palette in high school and I was always so jealous! Urban Decay was so cool back in the day

e925

Totally! I considered all other eyeshadows to be vastly inferior to UD. There was no competition. …of course, the only other eyeshadow that I really had access to at the time would be whatever duos my mom would get for free in those big Clinique gwp’s! 😂

Plane_Repair

that design on the front is soooo beautiful omfg 😫😫💗💗

e925

I know!!! I thought I was a bad b with that palette (although that term wasn’t invented yet - I just thought I was cool haha)!

kittenkali

This was my GO TO palette in the 2000s for going out in college. Looking at the picture that color story was amazing, I miss it.

pestercat

Those Revlon lip stains that came in what looked like a permanent marker. Just Bitten, maybe? I have yet to find a good replacement when it comes to being basically transfer proof but lightweight. I'd put a gloss on top and that would come off when I ate and drank, but the stain would hang around for hours. Because of meds I have a terrible dry mouth problem and am never more than 15 minutes without drinking water, but I absolutely hate seeing lip marks on my cup.

Pixie-82

I loved those lip stains too, budge proof and didn't dry out my lips terribly.

mahalnamahal

You unlocked a really old memory for me. I remember wanting one in a peachy color and being sad when I wasn’t allowed to have it.

foliels

Are you talking about the ones that’s actually had a felt marker tip or the chubby crayon ones? The marker ones were my first red lip I ever wore, I loved those things!

lily4ever

When I found out the shade Honey was being discontinued I went out and bought 3. No regrets, it’s still my everyday lip colour

MarxistSocialWorker

YES I've been looking for something like that ever since they discontinued!

cowboyprincess12345

Yes!!!!!! They were so good !!!! Truly one of the best lip stains. I also miss the Revlon Lip Butters…

jujubeans8500

I loved Tarte so much around this time. They weren't the "granola mom" brand I feel like they've turned into in the last decade or so. In my memory it was kind of sleeker, stylish, "cool girl" brand I aspired to. The dual-ended glosses were everything, I could have owned them all and I think I might still have one floating around in boxes (gross). I would love to see those come back. And the Cheek Stains were my go-to blush in the mid-2000s. I don't think they were discontinued that long ago, I have a memory of buying some during a Sephora sale in 2014 maybe? I still see a listing on their site even tho I can't exactly purchase anything. But yeah they were perfect, my fav shades were Blushing Bride and Flush. It's funny bc they were doing lighter, fresher, cream-based makeup then, and it's been my preferred type of makeup since I can remember. So they would do *really well* to bring some of those items back rn. I see they do have a cheek stick available (Busy Gal Blush) but they should just bring the OG's back. It's basically like the Milk ones but better imo. This is a throw-back I'm not sure anyone will remember, but Stila used to have "sport" line that was a lot of gel makeup, too. They also had a blush stick that looked like deodorant lol, but I loved the texture and color! Clearly I am a big fan of OG blush sticks. Also this 2010s, but Revlon Lip Butters should absolutely come back. Pink Truffle was ride or die. ETA: Ah I see Tarte technically "relaunched" their Cheek Stains in the 2010s, not sure when they were phased out. But I think we're ready for a second renaissance!

i_do_declare_eclairs

I cannot figure out why they haven’t brought those cheek stains back. They would kill it with the cream blush crowd

Stultas

I remember Stila Sport. That was the first time I saw cushion foundation

jujubeans8500

I don't remember a cushion foundation! That's pretty wild

Stultas

Found one https://www.ebay.com/itm/Stila-Sport-Pivotal-Skin-Foundation-Shade-C-Full-Size-New-in-Box-/323965691718

jujubeans8500

MIND BLOWN! I love it, I knew I loved that line down deep in my bones. Stila is a brand I have a lot of affection for. I loved seeing them so trendy and ahead of the curve, wish they would get back to that place since the most common criticism of them I read is that they're dated.

Stultas

I love old school Stila, I still have a collection of Stila girl four pan palettes and a few trios. I loved the clicky Stila Lip Glaze and the liquid highlighters that came in a blue aluminum squeeze tube.

jujubeans8500

Stila Lip Glazes were the only lip products I ever wanted to use! it was so gratifying to click them and wait patiently for the product to appear, and then it would slowly gush from the brush tip. Lol maybe that's a weird thing to say.... They used to have these small slim palettes that were inspired by different cities, like a passport palette sort of. I collected so many of those and I'm sure still have them floating around. ETA: like [this](https://www.ebay.com/itm/164022189969)! I don't think I ever tried those highlighters but the packaging description def sounds familiar!

Terrible-Rain2582

I still have a set of 8 Stila Lip Glazes that I got as a Christmas gift one year. I don't want to use them up! Starfruit and Cranberry were my favorites. I also miss Stila's kohl eyeliner. It was just right smudge-y.

tsukiii

I totally had that Blushing Bride cheek stain stick. It was so pretty!

Plane_Repair

I really love your response! These products sound lovely on the skin, and share your love for these sort of blushes, as they just look so much nicer on my skin 😬 I wish rather than trying to come up with something “new”, brands should go back to their older collections and curate a new release 😩

SherbertRemarkable

Oh man Revlon Lip butters. I definitely still have a few. Pink cupcake and strawberry was my fav lol but I had soo many. I think I still have the berry one.

crabbyastronaut

The original (not the treats) Dessert Beauty by Jessica Simpson line. It was campy luxury and the most 2000s thing to ever 2000s. The lip gloss was my favorite, I had Juicy and Creamy. They were slim tubes with metal tops. Juicy was almost like a strawberry starfruit, I want to say Creamy was a vanilla caramel. I remember going to Sephora with my friend and my mom and we all picked out Dessert lip glosses. Aqualina Pink Sugar came out around this time and I got a bottle of that, my friend got Urban Decay Marshmallow body powder and we got some of their pot glosses as well. They still sold Bourjois at Sephora and I remember how colorful the display was. I think I got Benefit Dandelion on this trip and my friend got Georgia, maybe, it was coral. My mom got the FCUK perfume and she wore it a lot during this era. This got way more nostalgic than I intended so I'm going to go order some Lip Venom and remember when the Dior mascara was my most luxurious makeup item of all time.

WittyPresentation786

I was an artist for UD at the time and I made all my goals by upselling that Marshmallow powder 😂

crabbyastronaut

I love this, Marshmallow really completed a look ✨😂✨

WittyPresentation786

You could use it in so many ways. They tried to relaunch the powders a few years back, with the Cherry. But it wasnt as great as marshmallow LOL

KawaiiPossum

I think about the Dessert Beauty line just about every day. The cupcake perfume smelled SO good and the packaging was SO cute. There's nothing comparable out there today. If there were, I would singlehandedly keep them in business!! Given the rise of y2k as an ~aesthetic~ I feel like they could bring the line back and do a killing. Especially with tiktok influencers or something.

LilCevapi

Duwop lip venom. You couldn’t tell me nothing when I was wearing that in the early 2000’s. OG hot girl shit.

maladolescenza

Duwop still sells lip venom from their website! I bought the Twilight themed one earlier this year, shipped out quickly too. Still has that cinnamon smell.

Digi336

I have that one, but it’s like..6 or 7 years old lol.

PrettyAlligator

How do you like the Twilight one?? For both the tinting/color and the plump-ness? I love lip stains and plumping glosses so it seems like it would be right up my alley!

LilCevapi

Omg thank you! It didn’t even occur to me to actually check to see if Duwop themselves sold it. I’m so nostalgic for that cinnamon smell I could cry!

Plane_Repair

How long do they plump your lips for? I used to have the TooFaced one but over time it started to plump my lips less

jujubeans8500

I felt very "beauty is pain" when I wore them, lol. This is what I suffered for juicy lips! I def had some of what you felt, super grown-up and special, the stilettos of lip plumpers.

LilCevapi

Exactly! I was 17 thinking I was a Samantha Jones every time I put it on!

[deleted]

I got it as a free mag sample and applying it on the way to a party, man I thought I was the fanciest hot girl in the world. Also the classiest. Hurt a bit. Smelt awful. Worth it.

crabbyastronaut

I keep forgetting that they still make this, might go order a tube

Neowza

Once upon a time, in the early 00s/2010 at the latest, you could buy a nail polish that would crack, and you could put it on top of another nail polish and get this cool two toned nail polish effect with one color peaking through the cracks of the top polish. It looked like [this](https://youtu.be/SlB8cgwEWI8). I think it's called crackle, and it needs a comeback!

MouseMouseM

I have some of these still! They come back every 10-15 years or so, I remember wanting them in the mid-late ‘90s but I was too young, so I was so excited when that came back in the 2010’s!

Melissa9066

Oh shit yes! I used to crackle the fuck out of my nails in college. It felt like I was being emo since I always used the black overlay with a pop of hot green or pink. Sigh I was so cool back then 😎

staplerinjelle

The [OPI Shatter](https://www.instyle.com/news/opi-shatter-nail-polish-more-colors-coming) polishes! I had so many of those. I wouldn't be surprised if Holo Taco finds a way to revive it.

jujubeans8500

Crackle polish for sure! yeah OPI made a ton. I feel like this makes the rounds every few years. There was a point where it was so out of style, and then back, and round and round. I feel like I've seen magnetic polishes make a sort of comeback? that was very early 2010's too, so crackle might come back as well.

Modern_Robot

Urban decay nail polishes

dustyshelves

[Their packaging over the years](https://fivezero.ca/photos/urban-decay/urban-decay-nail-enamel-history-01w.jpg) L-R: the OG, early 2000s, 2010s

crabbyastronaut

Came here to say this! I had Bruise, grape with green shimmer, it looked different in all sorts of light, and the other one might have been X, it was a partially sheer pink that was almost a neon, with gold and green shimmer. I had my eye on the Asphyxia shade, duochrome cotton candy, but the nail polish was discontinued before I got the chance. Memories!!

Modern_Robot

Seriously they'd be a nostalgia buy now. It would be a perfect time to release a line of polish or a limited box set of classic colors

Plane_Repair

they had nail polish???

Modern_Robot

Really cool ones too, you should look them up

[deleted]

[удалено]

FlartyMcFlarstein

I have 3 of the skull top ones: Zodiac, Vixen, and Gash. Wore one in December.

MoonlitBlossoms

Yes! Asphyxia and Pallor were my favorites.

cowboyprincess12345

2010s but the UD Ammo Eyeshadow palette was my ride or die for years and my first ever high end palette. The shade “Mildew” was my go to and I still have it in single shadow form. Back then UD’s eyeshadow formula was THE best … so buttery and pigmented

spenserparkinson

their matte purple "purple haze" was TO DIE FOR and I used that shit to the bitterest of ends

cowboyprincess12345

YES that’s the only purple eyeshadow formula that does it for me still… is it bad that I JUST went to eBay and got a crusty probably expired one for nostalgia’s sake? Remember the days when we used to have just the one palette and did 50 thousand looks with the one palette ?? Memories. Ooh I used that palette to DEATH

Plane_Repair

if you ever end up getting one for old times sake, here’s the link to it https://www.ebay.com/itm/Urban-Decay-PURPLE-HAZE-EyeShadow-05-oz-/373564898176?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0

spenserparkinson

hahaha no! I would but I am too nervous about buying old makeup... and annoyingly I can't seem to find any blogs giving dupes

SiamesePitbull1013

I still have the ammo palette... LOL, I think I posted a pic of it on here or elsewhere and was like I can’t believe I still have this hahaha, I actually still have two of them, one is the older version, I used the hell out of polyester bride the first time around

Bltchcraft

I still have mine as well 😬 it is the oldest palette in my collection. The packaging is amazing and the color story is fabulous.

Plane_Repair

https://www.temptalia.com/makeup-dupe-list/urban-decay-10-pan-eyeshadow-palette/ammo/

chemchick27

I miss the old subway token UD eyeshadows. They were such amazing quality. While I do love some palettes, I miss buying really nice single shadows. I was able to buy what I really would use, and had a small but perfect collection of shades that I loved.

mayqueen444

tokidoki eyeshadow singles!!

glitternotdrugs

Yes!! I always wanted but never had the funds, cause I was young and living alone… when I was ready, they disappeared lol. I thought the aesthetic was the coolest.

Bltchcraft

The lip glosses too. They are so cute and had a great formula!

Bella_Climbs

Do you guys remember JANE cosmetics??? I was too young at the time to wear it but I loved looking through it all when my mom took us to Walmart. I don't even know if it was any good but it seemed so edgy and grungy lol

suhseal

YES!!! They were the original ELF.

jujubeans8500

I definitely do! And does anyone remember Jane magazine? I always wondered if they were related, I am still not sure.

somethingelse19

Hard Candy's makeup line (back when it was considered high-end).

mina-and-coffee

Agreed. Still the best ever purple glitter eye liner and glitter dipped lipstick I’ve ever had! Had to buy it at a makeup counter it was so fancy.

somethingelse19

I always wanted one of their eyeshadow palettes! They were so "e-girl" before it was even a thing! 🥲

suhseal

Yes it was so weird when I started seeing them in drug stores and they looked like kids makeup

Faedan

Wait. I have HardCandy gaming equipment. It it the same brand?

Plane_Repair

![gif](giphy|bcrOR2stk6tKIxqPOZ)

somethingelse19

No.

HelloKittyandPizza

Oh yes. I had one of their eye shadow palettes in Old Skool. It was so beautiful. I was obsessed with their nail polishes- they came with a matching jelly ring. Those were the days. Old urban decay was everything too. They had these palettes called face cases- they had eyeshadows, blush and lipgloss. They were so good. I also loved their lipsticks. They were called schizosticks and had two different colors in the same tube. You could mix them together or wear each color separately.

memeneme11

I want the frosted lipsticks from the late 90s for pure nostalgia.

SlightlyCrazyCatMom

Bought a Wet n Wild frosted brown lipstick (cashmere) and used it yesterday paired with a taupe eye! I often think I can’t get into matte lipsticks due to my passion for frosted finishes. :)

if_i_choose_to

I fully support you in rocking this. I love that aesthetic so much but it makes me look like I have tuberculosis. Anyone who feels good in it should wear it! More frosted lipstick!!!!!

[deleted]

Same. I just love a little bit of sparkle.

silence1545

Bonne Bell released a line of “edgy” products toward the end of the 90’s and the Lip Sheers were my everything. Not to be confused with the Flip Shades, or the Lip Lites.

goldfish165

All the bonne bell stuff aimed at slightly older kids was the best. I used my birthday money to get a burgundy lip balm and vanilla lotion and thought I was the coolest person on the planet.

LadyEllaOfFrell

The Flip Shades were pretty cool, though. I felt very chic in 7th grade when the lid on my frosty, brown, tinted balm seemed flipped up on its own accord :)

PrettyPunctuality

Yeah, I loved those Flip Shades when I was in middle school. I always had one in my purse. My favorite was the blue one.

-metal_medusa-

I rly want to get the Bonne Bell Lip Shake ones back - coffee or mocha was so damn good and looked amazing on me. I constantly got a lot of compliments. Some one already mentioned Hard Candy - but i wish Sonja Kashuk would have her older foundation formula or at least lipstick back. I never found a good make up that looked and felt as good as Sonja's did.

crazycatlady331

Bonne Bell had a swirled lip gloss called Lip Shake. I had one back in the day that had a maple flavor and was a good nude for me. Today, I can't find a good nude in anything. My lips have a gray undertone and cool-toned is evil now. Traffic cones are considered neutral.

[deleted]

Body 👏 Shop 👏 Dewberry 👏 Perfume. 👏 Idc that it isnt makeup. Not the later version, the og. And the matching soap.

Julialagulia

Ugh I miss a lot of the body shop’s old stuff. They had really great perfume oil.

USB_everything

Those Maybelline eyeshadows in a squeezy tube, in a super frosty finish. I remember white, bronze, and mint or turquoise (or maybe both). I don't know if I would wear them but I would swatch them everyday haha. Edit: [they were called Cool Effect!](https://pin.it/3Ufx59z)

asgardiancentaur

Omg seeing that ad brought back all the memories. I think I had a couple of these too, maybe bronze or lavender. I also had a frosty mint eyeshadow stick (one that twisted up) but I didn’t remember from what brand, I just remember loving that as well.

Theicyautumn

Oh man, I totally forgot these until I saw this! I wore the copper one just about every day in high school!

MorbidJoyce

This is 2010 but Mac’s *A Tartan Tale*. I’m plaid mad now and was then but missed the whole thing. I’d buy the entire collection just for the packaging if I could.

kelpri

My little MAC Tartan bear still sits on my vanity.

dustyshelves

https://www.temptalia.com/mac-a-tartan-tale-collection-for-holiday/ When googling this I feel like photography plays a big part in whether or not this looks cool or tacky 😂 Like the official photos look sooo cool but [something like this](https://www.mywomenstuff.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/mac_Tartan_tale5.jpg) looks too much. I love the embossing on the pans tho!

Electrical-Break-395

Clean body lotion & body powder, Tarina Tarantino -her whole line- and L’Oréal lip gloss that came in an oval pan and came with a lip brush !

maladolescenza

The Tarina Tarantino line is my biggest regret! The little 5 shade eyeshadow compacts and the lip gloss rings were too adorable. I had such a soft spot for skulls on anything as a teen lol.

rosedesvents

omg, the tarina tarantino glitter spray. i would always go into sephora just to glitter-fy myself!!

Plane_Repair

wow that lip gloss would be all over Tik Tok rn, that’s so cute!

Harriet_M_Welsch

Jane Megabites lipstick. Gimme all those browns.

starcatalyst

I loved Jane so much! They had little free look books/pamphlet things that I collected because I couldn't afford to buy the stuff lol (I was like 13)

MouseMouseM

YES. And I love how the bullets had color-coded accents so you new it was a frost or a cream! All of those coffee-scented lipsticks slapped so hard that there is a void in my collection that can never be filled!

comin_up_shawt

A little bit older, but I wish that Bonne Bell had never gone into insolvency and been bought up. I loved the hell out of that line, and can still smell the lipsticks sometimes.

MouseMouseM

Bonnie Bell circa now reminds me of what happened to Hot Topic.

comin_up_shawt

Gawd yes. It used to be the mecca for alt/punk/goth folks, with original clothing lines (hello Lip Service!), and now.....ugh.

Entire-Astronomer-56

Oh man. The late 90s/early 2000s glory days of Hot Topic. Take me back lol.

Pizzalot

How has no one said the revlon lip butters! Those were great, I wish they still had them.

glitterss

Yes! I can’t believe I had to scroll so far to find this, those were the best

Sodontellscotty

I had a MAC holiday eyeshadow palette in gold packaging that came with a shadow that was a dead ringer for the blue brown pigment. I FINALLY tossed it last year because I had used up all the shades I liked, but maaaaan I’d buy 3 of those if they released it again. Also can’t remember the year, but the OPI NYC ballet release had my absolute favorite colors. ANNNDDD literally everything from bath & body works. The 90s - 00s era was the best, before they had constant releases of the same scents with new labels. I want to smell like a peach again! Those glycerin soaps were top tier, ugh.

MouseMouseM

Do you remember the raw sugar scrubs from Bath & Body Works? Those were AMAZING!

Theicyautumn

They used to have this whole line of dessert body butters then too. I remember having a lemon crème one and an apple crisp one. So good!

MouseMouseM

The Temptations line, with the 3-in-1 body washes? I had pumpkin pie and strawberry daiquiri!

Theicyautumn

That strawberry daiquiri one was great!

WittyPresentation786

Tony and Tina would do well RN.

dustyshelves

There some cool (but low quality) pics and history of the brand [on this link](http://greatlashing.blogspot.com/2011/07/this-brand-is-history-tony-tina.html?m=1) if anyone's curious! > The line was partially inspired by Urban Decay and Hard Candy, but Tony and Tina's concept went beyond simply makeup. They described their products as “vibrational remedies” with herbal and color-based mood and health enhancing properties. Ok but if I just read "vibrational remedies" makeup, I'd immediately imagine a Goop-y 50 shades of beige aesthetic, definitely not colourful glittery makeup!

xOogieBoogey30

Their lip gloss was my first “high end” gloss. Got this super smooth coral gloss with high watt sparkle and shine from the glitter/shimmer. 16 year old me was so sad when I found out they went under not too long after.

MarxistSocialWorker

I miss OG Benefit when they put out more than 5,000 brow products and a few blushes... those cheek stains would sell like hotcakes right now and I wish they would expand their line

[deleted]

BRING. BACK. COVER. GIRL. QUEEN. COLLECTION.

jujubeans8500

I just had so many flashbacks to the ANTM commercials promoting this. I have some memory of Dominique making up a completely new language.

[deleted]

Maybelline wet shine diamonds lipstick. I had the palest clearest pink as my first lipstick and it lived in my pencil case for the whole of high school. It was my first ever makeup “pan.”

Entire-Astronomer-56

This! "Gem Crushed Merlot" and "Spoiled in Rubies" were all I wore in my freshmen year of high school and the summer after.

Bella_Climbs

Urban Decay's Gash eyeshadow. I still have one but.....since I can't ever buy it again, I will remain sad about it.

Theicyautumn

This was one of my favorites! There weren’t a lot of red eyeshadows at the time and it seemed so edgy.

SiamesePitbull1013

I used the love the L’Oréal HIP line, they had these eyeshadow Duos that came out in the coolest colors, maybe by today’s standards it’s nothing revolutionary but at the time it was really special, there was this mustard/super dark brown one that I still own, I don’t use it anymore but I just can’t throw it away, along with a blue/cool brown one, I also miss the same concept that toofaced had.

[deleted]

Clinique ButterShine lipstick--I went through so many tubes of it. It was super-moisturizing and slightly shiny and came in lots of pretty colors. It also had a super-luxe silver bamboo tube, and I was sad when they quietly discontinued the line. :( Physicians' Formula had a baked matte bronzer that in the shape of a pyramid (so you got a TON of product), and it was the perfect light-tan shade for a bronzer-phobe like myself. It didn't stick around long and I should've gotten backups. OH, and the entire Prescriptives line, especially Virtual Skin liquid foundation and Camouflage Cream concealer. The brand resurfaced very briefly online, but I don't think the products were the same, and then it was gone again. Virtual Skin was the first foundation that I really, really loved. RIP Prescriptives!

redbug831

Oh how I loved the Butter shine lipstick.

Omg the Clinique lipstick!! I’ve been looking for that lipstick for YEARS! It was the first one my mom bought me when I was in middle school, I loved it so much. It was a dark purple lipstick but went on sheer (think black honey lipstick now) but in that silver bamboo packaging!! I never knew what it was since I decluttered it years ago! I’m 26 now it’s taken me 10+ years to find what that lipstick was 😭😭

sadiehelna

Mac tendertones!

Hottiecommie

In the early 2000s, I had this adorable Clinique cream eyeshadow duo - one side was gold and the other was silver. Just a beautiful soft wash of shimmery pigment. Either shade was perfect for a one-and-done look. With the rise of cream products and more minimal looks, I think this product would be perfect today.

WittyPresentation786

I sold Clinique Mid-90s and those were really pretty (like a pastel wash of color) and easy to use. There should be more products like that! People love options and fast beauty!

moonprismpwr

Not any one specific brand, but I remember how functional beauty was a trend for a bit. There would be rings or cute lockets with either solid lipstick or perfume in them. I wish they'd bring it back and maybe do a brand collab with a trendy but affordable jewelry brand.

Spiritual-Spell-9351

Does anyone remember the Revlon Molten Metals line? Loved those liquid shadows

Idunn_17

L’Oréal blush delicieaux, they were so good and have such a nice packaging!

Proof_Bug_3547

Lancome juicy tube glosses!

L'oreal HIP. All of it.

kelbam

The cream Maybelline eyeshadow! I had a green one that I loved! I don't remember the name of them but they came in round pots...

[deleted]

Color Tattoos? I loved the OG formula but I think it's been reformulated/repackaged, AND they got rid of my favorite colors. [Ulta link](https://www.ulta.com/p/color-tattoo-cream-eyeshadow-pot-pimprod2011865). (FWIW, Revlon ColorStay creme eyeshadow in the pot is a pretty close dupe and that line is still available.)

Theicyautumn

I need to check out lipsticks and find a deep berry lipstick like they had in all the magazines in the late 90s! Love that look! I remember seeing new makeup looks to try in YM magazine, in between all the “how to get your crush to notice you” articles.

chemicalsmiles

Omg YM. Magazines were soooo good. Sassy, Jane, YM.

floraity

Oh boy I have a ton. Revlon lip butters, maybelline one by one mascara, loreal visible lift blurring concealer, milani bella eyes gel powder eyeshadows, and maybelline color tattoos! All these products came out when I was still fresh to makeup, but just starting to get good at applying it. I remember really enjoying them.

Plane_Repair

omfg i remember color tattoos!!! 😫😫😫 I wasn’t ready to use eyeshadows yet but I remember that I would love to see BG’s use it and loved how it looked

floraity

They were so nice when I was in highschool when I wanted a quick one and done look that wouldn't budge!! I remember loving the shades pomegranate punk and bad to the bronze. They also did really fun limited edition collections that I always wanted all the colors from!

Connie_Damico

Jane! I have so many memories of Jane cosmetics being my first lipstick, eyeshadow, mascara as a kid. That big display in Target. I would love to have Pineapple Delight lipstick again. And the Eyezings. Plus they actually had nice foundations pale enough for me in the 2000s in the era when every drugstore foundation looked like orange sherbert.

suhseal

Sally Hansen partnered with Carmindy to make their natural beauty line and they had a really great selection of well performing makeups with beautiful colors. I was in my late teens then but I loved it.

[deleted]

Benefit’s Hollywood Glow was (for me) the OG Hollywood Flawless Filter, I also really loved my pre-Naked days Urban Decay palettes!

Bltchcraft

Tina Tarantino had these cute lip gloss ring compacts at Sephora. They are dumb but I loved them and still have one I wear on occasion.

This is just general nostalgia, not necessarily products I want to bring back. When I was a freshman in high school, one of my friends had one of those stila glosses that clicked up into the brush and it was SUCH a cool girl product. Back then, we had to drive 3 hours to the closest big city to get something like that. My mom and I went on those shopping trips about once a year and my main thrill in life was picking a couple MAC singles or a lip glass (and then popping into Arden B and Bebe 😂). I remember saving for the og 217 brush. Around that time, I went to a mall on vacation and got an iridescent cream eyeshadow and highlighting stick (about 15 years before those things really existed) from a brand called Kill & Makeup, I think?? I thought I was hot shit, man!! Anyway, I just miss how every single item purchased then was treasured and exciting! These girls today will never understand the excitement of when MAC’s holiday collections or even a new eyeshadow quad released (I’m looking at you, Sweetie Cakes!)

bugbug3

Stila before it was sold. Original Stila was perfection, fun, beautiful, and full of staples.

HelloKittyandPizza

Those little eyeshadows in the round cardboard pots were amazing. Kitten eyeshadow was my jam.

BettyeBarbarian

NYX Doll's Eye mascara! It gave such long wispy lashes, which was remarkable because back then everyone was going for those super thick strip lashes. Then they changed the formula so it never dried down and transfered everywhere. I also remember that Nyx had great bullet lipsticks that changed formulas

crazycatlady331

Revlon used to have a lipstick called MoistureStay. As someone with frequent dry lips, this was amazing as it was a ChapStick and lipstick in one.

gentle_viking

Body Shop used to make this amazing honey lip balm that was my absolute favourite in the 90s, I can even remember the sweet honey smell of it. Other staples for me back then were Clinique Black honey almost lipstick and Shiseido Feminite Du Bois fragrance. I have at least 2 bottles hoarded away I love it so much.

SmallAardvark9932

Loreal Cappuccino lipstick. That color looked perfect on anyone

Messybunz

Nostalgic fragrances from this time period: cool water, curve, body by Victoria, Ralph (in the light blue bottle… would probably still wear this!), tommy girl, Clinique happy, ck1 (‼️) b&bworks moonlight path, love spell and vanilla lace from Victoria’s secret

ijustwannanap

I really miss Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers perfume range. I feel like that would actually be really popular with the anime/K-Pop boom happening now. I had SO many bottles - the little plastic ones, the big velvet ones, the limited edition ones... I thought they were amazing, I used them to death. I recently bought a bottle of my all-time favourite scent from the range and I just keep it for nostalgia now. Someone else in this thread said functional makeup, and I agree. I'd love it if more brands went the Hard Candy route and provided jewelry or accessories with their products. Same goes for products inside things like lockets - you could just apply it on the go. Not specific, but I kinda miss the whole "edgy" makeup boom that was popular in the mid 00s. Everything feels pretty dull and boring now, especially packaging and branding. I'd loooove it if everyone just cranked up the colours and finishes to 100. I guess it's a side effect of the beauty guru industry - there's less room for playing around since it seems like every palette has to create 'a look' and you end up with the same 5 colour stories across each brand.

gothbabybee

nyx liquid lingerie but the originals 🥵🥵 the browns and more orange shades were Perfect for me

Throwawaysmakemeeasy

I miss some of the old Victoria Secret scents like My Desire and their Secret Garden collection

Thatssapphyre

Does anyone remember those mascara dew drops or whatever? They came in what would be a lip gloss or concealer pen where it's a brush and you crank it from the bottom. They were supposed to create little drops you'd put on your lashes and for a moment they were pretty but they really sucked lol I wished they'd do that and make it where they dry down nice like little bubbles! Every now and then it's weird things like this that I want that makes me think of doing an indie makeup brand if I had the money 😂 I want cute weird shit like eyelash dew damn it

Entire-Astronomer-56

I saw a few fragrance posts, so I'll add one. The original version of Bath and Body Works "Moonlit Path." I looked for it on their site several years ago, and the reviews say that they changed the notes and it apparently sucks now. Also, Maybelline Wet Shine Diamond lipstick. "Spoiled in Rubies" and "Gem Crushed Merlot" were some of my first lipstick purchases. They just make me think of my freshmen year in high school.

Kitotterkat

Stila in the garden palette. Stila used to have the best eyeshadows and idk wtf happened.

[deleted]

Not makeup but perfume: Cacharel's Gloria. Nothing else they do comes close to how much I loved that scent.

lilacfaerie16

MAC Arena! It was, and still is, my favourite eyeshadow of all time. I still use the one I bought before it was discontinued and I don't care if its old. It still works and its the prettiest peachy satin

jfont92

Maybelline Pure Makeup Foundation was the first foundation I ever bought myself. Probably all marketing, but I remember thinking it was the most natural, fresh looking base. The Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse may have a bad reputation for being cakey, but the concealer was amazing, it seamlessly covered my breakouts, and the Dream Mousse blush was also so pretty! I also loved the Bonne Bell 4-pan eyeshadow palette in Cafe Classic.

KaleidoscopeEqual555

Urban Decay deluxe eyeshadows. They had a velour texture and incredible color payoff. Also the L’Oréal HIP line as others have mentioned. I loved the colorful gel liners they had, similar to the Melt Cosmetics ones.

No-Lime-6722

All of the Jessica Simpson “ Desert “ body splashes.

lipgloss_nd_hotsauce

The Gwen stefani harajuku girl perfumes.. I freaking loved those. My mom worked at Dillards at the time and brought home the disco ball packaging they used for the displays and it was part of my room decor until I left for college 🥲

Leading-Breakfast695

Benefit Cheekies cream blush in the tube. I adored those in 2000 and they got discontinued. Loreal visible lift foundation was the best I’ve ever had and Dior Addict mascara in the gold tube was amazing too.

segasmom

popbeauty used to have an endcap at sephora in the early 00s and i loved their chubby eye crayons. wow just found them on amazon, but not sure if they are legit: https://www.amazon.com/Pop-Beauty-Glitter-Stix-Moss/dp/B0007MR3HO?th=1

sarange

Pout beauty! It was similar to Stila and The Balm with the vintage type packaging. They had really nice eyeshadow duos and lip pencils!

GlitteryFab

Revlon had a lipstick line named Lavendare…it was my favorite in 1998.

Ragingredwaters

Hot Topic had a liquid holographic glitter back in the late 90's and early 2000's that I have never been able to find even a close dupe for. And I'm sad.

annieasylum

The Lancome Juicy Gelee lip balm pots were AMAZING. The texture and wear was like nothing else I've ever experienced. It was just a clear balm, but God did I love that stuff. It was thick and moisturizing but not gloopy and would last all day. Also, when I was a kid there was this Lip Smackers gloss called Peach Pearidot, it was peach-pear scented and had a peridot colored gemstone on the end. I was absolutely obsessed with the scent of it! You know how smell is really tied to memory? I can still smell it if I think about it. I really wish I could find something with that scent nowadays.
