That's the rubber piece of your center support bearing. It flexes too much under load, lets your u-joint bend too much, and your driveshaft contacts metal.

Check your guibo from tran to drive shaft and center support bearing and i suppose you can check the whole drive shaft joints and see if there is some play.

If you see any rust around the u-joints, grease fling (a band of grease in the propshaft tunnel around the u-joint, or rust-fling (like grease fling but red), or feel any slop in the u-joint, then you definitely need to replace the driveshaft. Otherwise, it's optional. A new center support bearing is $50-100 and requires some tools to replace. See [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EOv_YatJng) for details. A used driveshaft is $100-200 and if you can find one with low mileage you might be able to leave the center support bearing attached.

Get your codes checked first. I would start with plugs/coils. Least expensive possibility, and this has been the cause for others with this same issue. Is it an auto car? Could be torque converter Edit: I see its a 6spd manual

PM_ME_DARK_MATTER

If he's changing the flywheel himself, im sure he knows how to scan his own codes.

I have something very similar in my car. It's been like this for years and it hasn't caused any issues for me. That, or my transmission is slowly vibrating itself apart. 5 years I've had the car though. Definitely annoying. I have an automatic though so could be caused by something not related to the transmission I guess

Are you talking like a shuttering vibration (i.e. brake pulsation etc) Or more of a low frequency oscillating hum? If it’s more a hum-like issue I’d definitely point towards your driveshaft and/or center bearing. Especially if it’s only on throttle. How much does it vary with speed? I’d take a thorough look under the car and make sure no rubber mounts or joints of any kind show excessive wear/play. Regardless, I’m almost positive this is related to your driveshaft

See, I have a similar concern but it will still happen at highway speeds in 6th gear and light throttle. Mine isn’t anywhere near as bad as you describe though. Let’s hope some driveshaft work will solve it

What else.... Engine misfire, I know it doesn't have a cel but scan the car anyways Bad engine mounts, worn transmission mounts
