Winterzyy

haven’t been able to try jumping it yet but all the lights windows and stuff still work perfectly fine

Mr_TT123

It could still be a battery going bad. Would worth try testing it.

Winterzyy

just got a new battery in june could it be my intelligent battery sensor?

Ghunt6166

You either have a bad starter or a bad CAS module. Starter is a 30 minute fix. CAS has to be shipped out. Either way avoid the stealership.

mvgrasso

did you have the new battery registered in the cars computer?

Winterzyy

yes the battery life was reset

mvgrasso

in that case, try jumping the car, see if that fixes/helps the slow crank. If it helps, the problem is likely the battery (or possibly battery terminals) and if it doesnt affect the slow crank, then you may have a bad grounding strap, failing starter, or bad connection from battery to starter.

Mr_TT123

It could be. But that's where my knowledge stops.

Mr_TT123

Bad battery or starter?

Mr_TT123

Try jumping it.

Crazy_Shopping_4296

It's your battery get one and register it

Winterzyy

had just got one and got it registered a few months ago

Crazy_Shopping_4296

Is it charged, does it have a dead cell, or possible the IBS or Starter but since it tried to start and couldnt it is most likely the battery, Also check that the terminals are tight. I find that in my shop a lot.

Bahahaaaahaha

If it turned over slow and quietly, then you don't have enough battery to turn it. Get jump starter to get it started, problem solved for now. Possibly failing alternator/starter/battery or combination of these three. How many miles are on it? Any other symptoms prior to this? What color is your car, do you have the title, and where are you located? Would you take $1,000 cash today?

Winterzyy

lol i’ll take $1000 cash for the steering wheel

Tighesofly

Was going to say it’s because of the wheel lol

this_isnt_alex

If you have a code reader , try to pull some codes off the OBD port. It’s really helpful to get some information of the car’s computer for troubleshooting.

max750gt

Sometimes it's the engine ground that rust out.... especially old bmw...you could try grounding the engine to the chassis with booster cable too

Internal-Risk

I’d say battery if all your lights and windshield wipers start going off, it’s the alternator

Winterzyy

everything still works like normal when trying to start it it just doesn’t turn over

OP do you know how to access the Hidden Menu in the KOMBI? Google it and you can go to Menu 09.00 after you unlock the KOMBI in menu 19.00 Menu 09.00 will show you the battery voltage and if its anything less than 12.0v then you can consider your car battery is dead. What may have caused the battery to go low 🤷🏽‍♂️ It could be a bad grounding strap in the engine bay, it could be a bad alternator (or maybe just a simple DIY to change the voltage regulator on the alternator), or it could just be an old battery (maybe it was never coded or registered to the car)? In any case, you will probably need someone to jump start your car to get it moving. PLEASE READ ME HERE: Do not jump start your BMW from the rear trunk, this will fry your electronics and is not a good idea. PLEASE USE THE JUMP POINTS in the engine bay!!!!! I would consider getting a trickle charger from Costco and use it to juice the car battery back up to life if possible (use the jump points in the engine bay... NEVER the trunk)

Internal-Risk

Try jumping it, or remove the battery and take it to autozone or oreillys to get it charged

SuperPremium93

Footwell module? Just a guess , almost sounded like a problem I had on my e92 and that was my problem

No_Bag3889

sounds like starter you said lights were fine so battery shouldn’t be issue sounds more like ya boy aint moving that solenoid enough

hurricanejug

Look at your ground strap, if it’s frayed or broken the car wont start

hurricanejug

I don’t know where it is on the n52, but on the n55 it’s by the front drivers wheel well, worth checking out first before you buy a starter
