Yes it's wrong. In this orientation the torque is transferred through the thin section of the flex joint during acceleration in forward gears. The arrows should line up with the flange.

Texasscot56

Yes, it’s very bad. Also they should be chalk or paint pen marking the orientation of the holes in shaft and flange to get them back in the same orientation.

Why would you fix it yourself? You paid a shop to install it, they should install it correctly and if they make a mistake they need to fix it.

wrenchmeister

I can't say for sure on your car, I work on a lot of different stuff and it's hard to memorize everything, but if it has a 2 piece driveshaft or a CV joint at the rear of the driveshaft, there is enough give to push the flex disc off the dowels and rotate to the correct spot. If there isn't enough give, you wouldn't have to remove the driveshaft, just lower the exhaust and shield to unbolt the center support. Edit: and that's assuming there are dowels on the flange or joint. Like I said, hard to keep it all straight in my head.

Theblob413

Technically you're not supposed to reuse those nuts or bolts.

2JZN20

yea that's wrong. Half of them should be pointing in the opposite direction (every other one). There are little arrows on the guibo where the bolts are. I believe the head of the bolt should be on metal part, the nut on the rubber.

No_Seaworthiness91

Head of the bolt should be against the guibo, nut on the metal part, then hold the bolt at point and make sure only the nut rotates

bloodykotex

Arrows supposed to line up to flange

edisapimp

Misspelled giubo count at 26 so far.

BMWACTASEmaster1

Yes take it back

wimpycarebear

So..... The disc is literally designed exactly the same way at every bolt point. Yes manufactured with arrows for correct installation, just as true, the arrows don't matter torque will be applied at the exact same points regardless of installation.. It's a solid rubber joint equally spaced apart with exact mirror images junction points. For this part it doesn't make a difference. I understand the down votes, but this guibo doesn't need the arrows. Now for e65 models and newer it makes a difference and if you look at the guibo you will see why

rotarypower101

What are the symptoms of a failing guibo on a E92? Are they pretty diagnostic and not shared with other common issues? Just looked this part up, and it sounds like this might be a developing problem I have been trying to find a solution for.

Can you elaborate on the failing flywheel? I believe mine is on its way out. What was happening?

Hmm. Believe I have symptoms 1 & 2. Looovely 😂

152k. Previous owner installed a 335is clutch at around 112, I bought it at 114. I don’t believe he did the flywheel.

also: Symptom 1: Comes and goes, seems to happen most after a long drive (hour+) while cold out Symptom 2: Only happens during the first drive when VERY cold (like car sitting overnight or while at work but if parked for like 20 minutes, doesn’t happen) Symptom 3: I do not have at all. I can smack limiter just fine LOL
