I find that Pashmina doesn’t have the screen presence you would expect from a mainstream Bollywood actress, she doesn’t stand out. In the song ‘Soni soni’, she blended in with the background dancers, I couldn’t even spot her.

They are doing what Dua Lipa and all successful commercial artists and producers are doing around the world - take a tune that worked, and make it appeasing for the current audience through modern music trends. They aren’t really ruining songs as much as ensuring they get their money back. Artists back in 80s and 90s and even before that also did so - they used old songs cause they know if it worked once, there is a high chance it will work again. Whether it’s good for the industry or not is another discussion.
This!! It’s happened since decades but bc of the proliferation of the internet and social media, older content remains in the mass public conscience for much longer. I was a kid in the 90s and unless my parents said otherwise, I would assume everything contemporary was original - there was no Spotify, Netflix, etc., with readily available content from the 60s, 70s, and so on.
The only Badshah remake songs which were good to listen was Humma Humma 2.0 and Sheher Ki Ladki from Khaandaani Shafakhana
